The Mercurial Touch Elites are great. Overpriced and the latex isn't the most durable (which is in the description from Nike on all websites I've seen them sold on), but a couple points: 1) those aren't the Promos, Promos don't have the text on the latex 2) I think you've got the wrong size based on the bubbling and loose fingers, mine are the most "like a glove" pair of keeper gloves I've ever had 3) certainly overpriced, but it's Nike's best latex and the grip lasts forever if you don't ruin the latex 4) they should roll the thumb, but in the right size it really isn't an issue, but their best design feature is the latex down the wrist. Incredible on low shots and throwing the ball.
Nah these are the pro 150$ version the promo is a bit harder to land but the difference in latex at the mercurial level isn't big specifically cause both on the mercurial are embossed. I wouldnt say this is Nikes best latex as their best latex can be found on the SGT PROMOS which are a lot softer and not embossed like the latex on the Nike Mercurial touch elite. At the end of the day it’s all preference and a glove that might be horrible for me can be a great fit for other gks. Appreciate your comment clarifying and for your expertise, have you used the new adidas preds or the puma strapless? If you like the mercurials I would recommend them to you personally i think theyre much better
@@ARSGoalkeeping I don't like the slits on the Predator palms, to be honest. And haven't tried Puma. I used to be a VG3 guy, then the Phantoms. I think the Mercurials should be at that same $130 price point with the Preds and Nike's other offerings to be a better value, I don't really see why they're more. I truthfully haven't used SGTs since I was like 15 back in the 00s, I just didn't like the weight. There's something nice about the ultralight Mercurials
My take on it: 1) Should I receive a pair of gloves with the strap torn off like in the PUMA pair featured, I'd simply return them. You pay full price to get something flawless, regardless of how ill-designed the product is 2) I remember watching the video of this Nike Mercurial pair where they were torn so easily. I was like "That's it! Nike is dropped off my list whenever I consider getting myself new gloves". Selling a pair of gloves with that hefty of a price tag and such low durability is a BIG rip off. 3) Are you kidding me, Adidas? $120 is already way too much for a pair. Seriously, charging people double the above-mentioned amount for a pair of gloves is an all time low. No matter how good they are (and I feel they're not), such pricing is UNREASONABLE. Plus, there are companies that manufacture gloves with better removable finger guards at one fifth the price for a pair. I know that because I have one of those. And speaking of wrist protection, every keeper knows that the best item is taping. Here in the United States, you can buy a dozen of tape rolls for $ 30-40, and they can last you for months. Much better way to spend your money 💰 than wasting it on those fancy looking no good Adidas Predator nonsense. Peace everyone and watch out where you spend your money 🙂🙂🙂
When you compared the ultimates to west coast I began to laugh. West coast makes much better gloves than Adidas right now and you can get 2 pairs for less than 200$.
I am a goalkeeper from Sierra Leone West Africa. We get gloves supply inadequately, I have been following your channel for years. If I can get where I can buy through it will be helpful for a whole country
Old vid now i know, but I've been using the pumas for 6 months now and they're still going strong- and the grip (with proper postmatch washing and drying) is still phenomenal. Like someone else mentioned in the comments- if I'd bought a pair that ripped out of the packet I'd ask for another pair. Maybe these were a duff production run. GK gloves are so much a matter of personal preference though.
Well I think the puma ultra model fits better than the previous puma one. The wrist of the puma one seems to be too narrow and putting them on can be really annoying. But to be honest I'd like to see puma ultra models with a longer wrist entry. By the way, are there any differences between their ultimate grip and superior grip latex?
Honestly i could never really differentiate between the two they seem almost the same. Pumas best latex is probably their Elite + latex followed by the “ultimate”
For real, the Puma UltraGrip makes me wanna cry so much, I love the latex (The SuperiorGrip is so good, great grip and long lasting), the cut works for me as well, the body construction and material are so bad, the tear and rip on the strap are 1 thing, the stitching on the wrist and then that super short wrist annoy me so much. and yes, I got 2 pairs of Ultragrip on Ebay for 50$ each, a steal for me as the latex is still going strong. Also, I can't rely on the Merc, they were fun to use for me, but I don't feel enough confident with them, so nah
A little bit late but I heard you mention West Coast gloves in this video. I have a friend that swears by them for being some of the best gloves at around $80 us. What are your thoughts on this brand and the gloves they produce?
Are you going to review the new kaliaaer gloves ? I bought the orange and pink ones and they fit so well, one of the best fitting glove I ever used ! I can’t wait to test them

Tbh I really liked the mercurial touch elites. For me they fit really well and I've been using them since September 2020 and they're still going strong for me
WestCoast Goalking Exo line has been the best gloves I ever wore, great price, amazing grip and long lasting quality with Uhlsport brand in the 2nd not too far off. Wore everything from Adidas predators to Umbro Shoguns, can't beat WestCoast goalkeeping.Their wash for the gloves is also fantastic.
Can you try out the gk saver blue pair of you know which glove I mean it’s got a blue latex and removable finger saves with black on the back of the glove the durability is insane on them and the grip when you put gloveglue on them
I've gone through so many gloves and I discovered that super expensive doesn't always mean super amazing, I went from using predator pros mainly to now using j4ks and I buy 4 pairs of j4ks for £80 instead of adidas predator pro for £100 too overpriced for what they are tbh, it's better to spend £80 on 4 pairs of j4ks that way you have 4 gloves that you can have for 1 year rather than 1 pair of adidas predator pros that'll last for 3 months I've used sells and Nike too which are expensive but my point here is buying 4 j4ks was more of an investment for me and my money.
I have a pair of mercurial victories, they’re my favorite glove to use only because they’re so tight fitting, I’m still looking for a glove with more grip but with a really tight feel
If I were to buy a pair which would last me a while between the uhlsport absolutgrip or the supergrip+ which would you recommend. Is it really worthy the extra money to buy the supergrip+?
The supergrip is a much more tournament specific glove. the grip is really good and crazy sticky but you can get crazy good grip with the absolut so it comes down on how much youre willing to spend
Man i am so scared with all theses gloves problems, i bought some uhlsport powerline absolutgrip hn, my first expensive gloves, i hope they will last long AND they won't break first training...
Ngl I loved the mercurials. Probably because I got them for £20 from a Nike outlet although they only lasted 3 games then completely dropped off in performance and the wrist area started to rip away from the latex
West Coast is pretty reliable, decent grip, and good dura as well. But their build is bulky, so if you liek lightweight, second skin feel, you will not like them tho. Also, their cut ain't really the best, especially if you prefer negative cut type, they are more towards the roll, hybrid side
A friend of mine had his own goalkeeper glove buisness and his gloves cost £10 to make in India. He sold them for £30-40 per pair, so to see Adidas charging the extortionate prices they are when the gloves are made so cheap is a slap in the face to us the consumer.
