for mike and trin and everyone who didn’t read the books, i think it is so important for y’all to know that president snow has lip fillers
Love that for her
You're so right and you should say so
because people said he looked good with his bruised lips back in the prequel!
Lip fillerrr and possible faceliftttt
Fierce! Power moves by Slay Snow 😂
Now since song birds and snakes came out your forced to make a part 3 together!!!!!!!
We will be there🍿

IM BEEGGIINGGG
I'LL PROTEST IF THEY DON'T 😭
“ozempic peeta” had me dead like there’s no reason for it to be that funny
When I first read Mockingjay, I thougth it was strange and interesting that District 13 was doing propoganda ads with Katniss for their revolution, but I figured it was to play the Capitol in their game. Now that I'm older, I realise it's strange, because a true resistance against a totalitarian regime would be more concerned with exposing said regime's lies and deceits to inspire people's free will. And that is why Finnick's little exposé about Snow felt more impactful. It's not glamorous shots against a fire wall, it's Finnick standing and telling the people exactly how it is.
This then plays into the end when it becomes clear that Coin wasn't doing a revolution to free the districts, but to put herself in Snow's position as the next dictator.
very well put !!!! i felt the same way on my reread recently!
Let me read those books again not distracted at work cuz whoaaaaaaa. The way I didn't remember that depth but Suzy gave us a lot to munch and crunch on.... man, I love a sassy man
Peeta didn’t choke anyone out in the games because that was who he was and he “didn’t want the games to change him”, which is why it took a hijacking for that side of him to appear
yeees and to add some info from the books that I wish they would have put in the movies, Peeta suffered physical violence from his family and he didn't want to follow the cycle of abuse, that's why he doesn't use his strength or even think about killing in the games, which makes even sadder what they do to him and to hurt someone that he loves so much u.u
Also he literally body slammed Cato when he was holding Katniss over the edge of the cornucopia 💀
mans is strong but he’s a sweetie so he’s not just gonna go around choking people out unless he has to
@@kaxidoscope that's what i'm saying, like he can do all that but let my sweet man do pretty cakes in peace and see all the orange sunsets he wants :c
Yea it wouldn’t be him at all, he’s too wholesome for that and the fact they tried changing him even tho he said he hopes the games don’t change him in the first movie and that if he goes out he wants to go out as himself
The movies cut it out to be fair, but Peeta kills Brutus the big scariest victor from district 2 because he killed Chaff, who is Haymitch’s best friend. He can kill if he’s set off to do it
i feel like we skipped over when haymitch truly showcased his observation skills and said “that was a warning, he’s warning us” because that gets me every time
"Thanks Haymie. Good ol Hayms."
“They’re going to kill everyone”
“…he’s warning us…”
lmfaoooo
I just wanna say we all hate that Finnick died and we will never get over it…. Because that’s the point!! Suzanne said so herself she wanted everyone to fall in love with him so we could feel the pain of war in the most impactful way. She kinda slayed like her power!!! 💯
I never understand why people are against the death of characters that they love. Where's the suspense or tension when all of your favorite characters are going to survive? Also, the point of war and revolutions is that sometimes the people that you love die.
His death hits similar to Sirius dying in HP
Lmao I remember seeing the movie in cinemas for my birthday with friends and everyone cried at some point. She did a great job of breaking everyone's heart
@@lunavioleta001yeah then you end up with twilight lmao. "They're so dangerous, we've hyped them up the whole series! Now let's not fight them and leave anticlimactically😃"

the way my jaw DROPPED when mike said snow over mags. blasphemy i cant believe this
those "person a or person b"s were truly so revealing like i don't know if we ever got such an insight into the twisted side of mike and trin's minds

YOU'RE SICK@@LethalByte69
lets talk about the hanging tree remix playing at clubs bc that was insane
mike discusses it in his mockingslay video
the amount of times that mike would say a hot take and absolutely stun trin into silence,,,
I don't get people who didn't love Peeta and especially Peeta/Katniss endgame cause like he's the only person who never used her. He just loved her 😭
And then he got abused and it wasn't even under his control, his love for her got twisted into a weapon. SUZANNE WHY U TRAUMATIZE ME??? WHY FOR THIS PAIN
He looked like a boy. Honestly, I think that's it; from the get go I didn't though he was attractive, and so just like Mike said, "good for you girl, I'm glad you have a good man", but I don't want to be you, so I'm not that invested.
I dunno dude he’s kinda boring 🫣 when I was reading the books I was SO uninterested in the romance
@@sarabenfeldthe is not boring, he is safe and peaceful, and in the middle of a war that can come off as "boring", because is in the contrary to everything else, and those things give adrenaline and "the rush".
That is how I feel.
i’m here to defend my man peeta, he wasn’t fighting or wanting to kill anybody in the games, even when he could, because his whole strategy was to uplift katniss, help her win the games and get back to her family, make her look better for the sponsors, even in his interviews he always found a way to bring katniss up and make her look better. when he saved katniss from cato and got injured fighting him so she could scape, he did what he needed to do, in his shape he couldn’t help any longer, so he went to hide in the river to die basically. his propuse in the two games was always to help katniss win, never to win himself
😭😭😭
This!! This is a Peeta stan acct 😫
Yess exactly Peers was passive because he literally his personality. His aggression was always forced and unnatural, by getting BRAINWASHED or pressured to perform
i always laugh when people are like “why wasn’t peeta more aggressive and use more of his strength?” IDK MAYBE HE DIDNT *WANT* TO MURDER INNOCENT CHILDREN ?!? 😭😭
But why was I expecting at the end “panem today, panem yesterday…panem the day Alison DiLaurentis went missing” 💀💀💀

Talking about the mutts, in the first book the mutts that kill Cato in the games were made from the bodies of the fallen tributes… Katniss recognised their faces and features.
I thought that for the longest time and was so horrified. But then, I reread Mockingjay and there’s a line about some mutts and Katniss thinks back on how they were just made to unsettle them (her). It wasn’t actually the tributes bodies but she thought it was. They probably did use their DNA to combine with the wolves or something though. There’s also mentions of bodies of tributes being sent back to their families in a coffin.
@@SakuraSaskey ah, good to know. I’ve only just started listening to the Catching Fire audiobook. I’m a bit behind😂
@@SakuraSaskey i was sure i remembered the mutts having the eyes of the fallen tributes, but maybe I'm remembering wrong !!
@@kira-lilym6363 they did! Sort off. They made the mutts look like the tributes for some good old psychological torture
@@SakuraSaskeyyeah, that makes sense. The capitol doesn't like getting their hands messy in that way, so it makes sense that they'd just be representations, not the real thing.
mike saying it was prim's fault for getting blown up bc she wasn't wearing the pin which would protect her is so funny, she literally got picked for the reaping wearing that pin it never did do a very good job lmaoo
In the books, she has a long period of supervised recovery before she ever goes back to the Victor’s Village at the end
She tries to kill herself too
@@jasmineindoors I wasn't even surprised, and I would try to kill myself too if I was in Katniss's place
She also waits over a decade to have kids with Peeta because of her trauma.
I never understood people who didn't like Peeta and Katniss ending. They HAD a happy ending, the most realistic happy ending, this IS a happy ending for people who survive extreme trauma. Not only that but their kids are playing in a land where the Capitol wanted to erased from existence. They created life and are doing their best when the government wanted them dead. PEENIS FOR LIFE!
Agreed people hate happiness that’s what it is
peeta just sucks, never liked him or Gail as a kid, and still don't
penis
Exactly! And it shows that Katniss now feels safe and is able to have children because they aren’t in danger.
that's not a happy ending though, it's just the most boring and miserable way to live. katniss deserved so much better fr
The ending makes a lot of sense, but it is really amazing in the books because Suzanne is a phenomenal storyteller. She depicted both of them as people after the war with PTSD trying to get through life as really broken people. It’s really hard to say if they were happy, because when they had happy moments they were scared their happiness would be stolen from them again. And it made sense that Peeta and Katniss would end up together ever since Catching fire because when they had nightmares or were in stressful situations they both thought of each other or leaned to each other for comfort. They both represented a piece of home that they’ve lost and tried to build again.
When I was young I thought it was annoying when he would ask real or not. As if people are stronger by sorting their trauma out alone. But now I get it.. now I know the importance of asking
Definitely what you’re missing is the literal gaggle of geese that haymitch raises in the epilogue
I like the idea that he replaced the old man in district 12 who raised goats
God damn grooselings, bruv
21:05 Mike going "peeta" while Trin was thinking of what to say, I couldn't stop laughing
i'm so glad someone else noticed that pls
I commented this just now but I kept scrolling bc I knew I couldn’t have been the only one lmfao
I cried when Finnick died in the books (his death is also portrayed v accurately in the movie based on what I remember). I can’t recall if they touch on it in the movie, but you find out later that his new wife, Annie, was pregnant at the time of his death and so Finnick never got the chance to meet his son 😭😭😭
I know it’s so sad but at least Annie has a piece of Finnick to spend her life with 🥲
I'm fairly certain you see Annie with the baby later on
I now need a part 3 of them discussing Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes LIKE NOW!
NEOWWWW
FRIGHT MEOWWWWWWWWWWW
These videos will go down in history as the best collabs of all time
I must say, Trin is rockin that hairstyle.
i've read the books and the ending is underwhelming there too. its sadder, i prefer it, its a little more ambiguous in terms of peeta's recovery, but still kinda vague. i think its on purpose because like how are you going to finish this story that was treating it's themes as realistic as possible without a bittersweet ending. i think the fact that they had kids says a lot, about being hopeful for them, but revolutions and change takes time, they're difficult, exhausting, constant and you'll probably not going to see things getting better in you lifetime. i think the ending in the book is more like that, the movie is a bit more optimistic and that's why maybe it feels like if you pick it up it'll crumble.
Came here to say just that but you worded it better than I ever could. The end felt empty... like okay and? Kinda just thrown in there for shippers. But I talked to my mom after watching TBOSBAS and we both agree that we think Suzanne has a new book planned based after Mockingjay. I'm SAT waiting to see how this universe expands. Would explain the almost too open ended time jump to "look your favorite ship is a family now 😏😈"
@@layla2822 idk how to feel about a sequel thou. like... the open ending, weird vibes and sad ending is underwhelming but it's realistic, and i hope there's no more hunger games in their future yk
@batate I absolutely agree sand tbh I didn't think about it till my mom mentioned it. She said something about a skeptic message someone said but I don't remember and she's asleep rn. I wouldn't complain, but I'm also happy to end it now. I'm one of the shippers they pleased lmao
@@layla2822 lmao yeah i like peeta so i wasnt angry at the ending but i also kinda dont really give a shit about romance so i was thinking more about the story as a whole lol
I wanted a sequel series SO badly to explore more of the revolution omg
In the book at the end, they talk about both Katniss and Peeta’s PTSD a little more. I think what you’re feeling is them trying to cram the whole ending/epilogue - which was mostly exposition/inner monologue - into a scene that’s mostly visual. They used some of that exposition in Katniss’ dialogue, but I think it was just hard to capture it all. As a fan of the books, I adored it, but I could see how it might feel weird if you haven’t read the books.
would love the beard to become a mikes mic canonical trend
oh thank god. I was just starting to have to have my own thoughts again but when we needed them most they return
“Ozempic Peeta” had me rolling
I never realized how hard Snow was serving strapped to that pole. It’s disturbing how hard he ate. Sassy old man 🤭
snow was so evil but so iconic... like his lines ate
Katniss and Peeta never seemed happy to me at the end. Just two traumatized people making the best of things.
I feel like that’s part of it though. We see Peeta transform from someone innocent who literally does everything to help Katniss, and he turns into someone just traumatized who carries a lot of baggage. He’s no longer an innocent little boy (product of war). And in the books, my personal read was that Katniss felt like she always envisioned getting with Gale but (again) war changes people and it brings out the worst in us sometimes. Gale crossed a line that could never be uncrossed, and Katniss doesn’t so much “love” Peeta so much she feels like he’s the only one who could possibly understand her being a tribute, being alongside her, being from the same district and knowing who she was before everything happened. Or maybe she just… loves him in her own way? Idk. But it always felt like she wanted to save him bc deep down she knows it’s the right thing to do and that she can’t afford to lose someone like him.
They are traumatised but just because people have trauma that doesn’t mean they can have happiness, at the end it does seem like they are happy and healing and finally have peace
@@CaulkMonglerHES THE REALISTIC CHOICE NOT THE IDEAL BAD BOY!!!!!! you're so spot on and I feel like that's what Suzanne was tryna say. Kat is very pragmatic, once Gale showed his true colors, she couldn't appreciate him as the hunting buddy anymore but as an abuser who didn't seek help.
Peeta is the type who would go to therapy, reassure you, have the hard conversations and make sure you're on the same page before bed.
Even after everything, he's a good person not hardened in too wrong of a way. Left with his eyes too open, but still the sensitive man she grew to appreciate. At first she was off put by how soft he is, but she realized the difference btwn wanting someone as tough as her and needing someone more compassionate.
@@nailinthefashion THIS!!! plus, in the beginning katniss and gale are on the same page about everything. they hunt to provide for their families, they're both fatherless and protecting their families in any way that they can in the world they're in. peeta doesn't have the same upbringing, and has also only tried to survive, but without the same bonds katniss has to keep her grounded. however, he has the same compassion and longing to protect innocent people the same way katniss does (eg thresh and rue and each other.) they both use violence sparingly, while gale becomes someone who uses it as the first and only resort, and given the life katniss has led, its completely understandable that following the war, she wants peace and to rebuild her life without violence. peeta is the only real choice in that scenario, ESPECIALLY when you factor in the child murder and the death of prim that gale is responsible for.
Well the epilogue also takes place 15 years later…after katniss specifically stated that she did not want kids Peeta just so happened to convince her during those years and after years of healing she’s willing to tell her kids everything. I don’t think she would’ve had kids immediately after the games but she had 15 years to heal after so I’m sure that explains why she doesn’t look as sad. The pain isn’t exactly fresh even tho they both had nightmares, flashbacks and serious ptsd of the games for those 15 years. It’ll always stay with them tho and now she’s healed enough to be willing to tell her children someday
YES THIS!! (but i want to add for non book reader who might be reading your comment that katniss didn’t want children because she thought it immoral to bring children into a world so cruel where they could be hunted for sport. peeta convincing her to have kids was NOT in a patriarchal “women must want kids so a man has to change the mind of a woman who thinks she doesn’t” way. he convinced her that the world was finally safe enough that she could allow herself the gift to raise children and start a family. it had been a desire she had but had shoved down out of fear for what that life would mean in the era of the hunger games.)
@@maryooowoahh yes and when Lucy gray and Coriolanus are in by the lake and she talks about living free in the wild I felt it kind of foreshadowed katniss and peeta’s love story and how they’re happy ending ended up in a field with their children 💕
the banter and back and forth of these two is impeccable, so good!
"It was something serious." -Mike's Mic w a seneca crane beard painted on like jafar 😭
BEGGING y’all to do more videos together. already 2 of my fav creators but when you’re together?!? GOLDEN. i’ve been laughing the entire time
i really liked peeta in the books, not as a love interest but as a character. he was born into an awful and unfair world and he knew that world didnt care if he died. all he could want was to help someone he cared for. i found it to be extremely relatable and i just. thought he was pretty realistic in the same way the ending of the book series was. it wasnt a happy ever after, and that just made him seem even more real.
the comedic pauses KILLED me

Yeah it confuses me when i see people disregard or even forget that finnick was PIMPED OUT by Snow

Lol now they need to get an audible sponsorship then they’ll have no excuse not to read the books😂 They’d be SHOCKED to find out just how not in the books Seneca Crane is 😅
Yes, I live for your and Mike's commentaries! I'd love for you both to eventually do a video on Songbirds and Snakes.
the way i’m living for this duo. we need more of these collabs
Mockingjay Part 1 and Part 2 being separate parts serves to help you feel the weight of the war that’s happening. It may be “boring,” but that’s because war isn’t pretty. War isn’t fun. The Games are over. The people who can’t appreciate Mockingjay just prove that something like the Hunger Games, with people being all happy and excited about it, is something that could literally happen.
Yeah the first half of mockingjay is slow but also very good
"the capital vlog squad" 💀
You two together is comedy gold. This will definitely be one of those videos I watch over and over again.
yall paid part one dust. that movie is so good and it was so important for mockingjay to be split into two movies. completely disagree. trying to squeeze mockingjay into one movie, we would’ve lost even more of katniss’s development than we already did because of the adaption. hard disagree that the movie could’ve been five minutes.
If Mockingjay Part 1 has 100 fans I am one of them. If it has 1 fan it’s me. It’s so good!!
This part- the movies are already lacking so much context that they could be so much longer. Shortening it would just make it worse.
Right? I don’t know how in any way that could be 5 minutes, so much happened and it’s focusing a lot of Katniss mental state as well. I’m sick of things just being about constant action and plot plot plot.
honestly even the director thought that it should’ve been one film and i agree. it was just a cash grab
@@rfghukko and the rest of us disagree with you 🙂
Literally don’t remember the movie end but I know in the book they really underline stuff like them both having traumatizing nightmares and how they try to separate their kids from the extreme trauma they endured. It gave “we won at the cost of my entire life that I somehow still have to live”
as someone just now reading THG books after the prequel - there's so much more Cinna lore even in the first 100 pages of the first book
this collab is literally catching fire. i loved it so much. please do pt 3
i love this duo's energy so much i wouldn't complain if there were more videos like these in the future 👀
Growing up is realizing that Katniss didnt want children of her own because she didnt want children to grow up in the messed up world she lived in. So the last scene/pages where she clearly changed her mind is representing how the world did change for something better 😢
An excellent follow up collab! The rapid fire A or B was very insightful. Also Trin being presented with Cinna or Caesar and choosing Peeta. She’s correct.
these two could literally talk about anything and i’d be enjoying every minute of it. they need a podcast or need to make more video collabs i swear. 😪
I have to admit gale becoming the prim reaper did gag me at first

confirmed: trin wants to blow peeta's whistle baby
I literally JUST finished watching your part one, blessed!!
Wished they talked about Katniss almost killing herself by taking the nightlock pill after killing Coin, Peeta stops her.
I think the reason why Peeta didn’t go all out in the Games like he did on Katniss is because before the first Games he told her he didn’t want the Capitol to turn him into a pawn in their game/ a monster…which they eventually did
I want a podcast or movie review series with you two oml
that would actually be so good.
the way mike echoes “Peeta” in the background 😭
We need this WITH MIKE for EVERY YA ADAPTATION FRANCHISE EVER
i must say that the mockingjay movies really did the book dirty, completely cut out the katniss and johanna training which was the best part about the first bit of the book. and then with the peeta thing which ties to their ending they really brushed over their slow burn
i’m begging y’all to make a podcast or a joint commentary series
michael microphone holding a turned off microphone, amazing
Doing homework whilst watching and the way I record scratch paused and turned to my phone at Trin's he can choke me out at the exact same moment Mike looked sideways at her. All I'm saying is I feel the kinship there with the experiencing the mental pause together
