    This is so impressive ! How is the protein tagging done actually ? How does the fluorescent part get attached to a protein without affecting it's function ?

      The central dogma of biology is:
      Gene (DNA) ➡️ RNA ➡️ Protein (amino acids + modifications)
      The gene for the flourescent marker (GFP) is linked to the gene for our protein of interest. Basically the two become proteins become one. That being said GFP usually doesnt interfere with the function of the actual protein since, although linked by a few amino acids, it folds differently.

    Does anyone actually take an English language course before delivering such talks!?? Gosh, students have to pass exams to prove language skills while professors are really hard to grasp!??
