I like the basic idea and construction of the basin. Paint job of the leaves and the ducks...........is another story.

Cute idea ! But don't put ducklings in the pond without a ramp for them to climb out; they do not have the natural oily coating of feathers yet (they have down at this point) and will become tired and drown.

I agree and was thinking the same thing. They need a way to get out. They will tire from swimming and drown. Also, it's not big enough for them.

I love the concept! Just a few modifications needed, like painting the whole structure with a toxic-free paint. I've been thinking of making something this size to grow my aquatic plants in for my indoor aquariums. Just a couple of fish needed for poop to ensure a good ecosystem. Brilliant. Thanks for sharing!

I know from experience after raising baby ducklings that they will not be able to get out of that dark hole on their own.
They are too small and they will drown.

@@MikeEmms Ducks are very messy, they love to splash water everywhere, and they poop an average of 90-ish times per day. Make sure they always have access to clean water, and that they have access to a small pool/pond or even bowl of some sort. Something they can at least dunk their entire head in. They need to be able to clean their eyes and their bills. Ducks love treats too, my ducks go absolutely crazy over tomatoes and strawberries lol! Never ever just have one duck, you need at least two. Ducks thrive in a flock, 3+ is what I recommend to ensure their happiness. If you ever notice ducks getting bored, you can put a mirror in the coop/run and this will keep them entertained and happy. You can also buy a cage ball thing and put treats in there, that will also keep them entertained. By keeping ducks happy, they will give you delicious eggs in return! Ducks are by far my favorite animals I have ever owned, they’re just so lovely. They make me laugh all the time! Hope this helps!

I like the concept somewhat, but treating the ducklings like that is cruel. Too small of a pond for them. How do they get out? Chances are they'll drown.

Таких маленьких утят нельзя оставлять надолго в воде, они переохлаждаются и умирают, им нужно выход из воды сделать. Когда почувствуют что им нужно в воду они сами полезут в неё.

a shallow ledge for ducklings to transition in and out and as safety for little birds that don't realize how deep water is until it 's too late? You worked very hard. I hope it remains a joy for you.

Esta muy bonito, pero hay que pensar en algo para que ellos puedan salir, porque no van a estar ahí todo el tiempo, entonces se agotan tratando de salir y mueren de cansancio, ya me paso una vez, por eso lo digo, yo también tengo animalitos en casa, espero les guste el comentario y que sea de hayuda.

I appreciate the work, well done. I notice you don’t endorse health and safety though. I found it funny to see you using power tools in open toe sandals. I’m presuming this is not meant to be a permanent residence for the ducks, but just for effect. It was quite a shock to see all those ducklings tumble out of the crate like that. Having kept ducks and hens myself, you need to research the optimum requirements for keeping fowl. Especially waterfowl. They need more space, they need at least 4foot depth of water, for their droppings to sink and they need a sloping side to get out of the water to preen themselves. Usually the mother teaches them to swim and exit the water and oils their feathers from a gland beneath her tail.otherwise they are not waterproof. Funny video anyway
Do you keep you're animals in a research lab or a outside, I live on a farm myself and I have chickens ducks, that's plenty spacious for those ducklings if you ask me, I know people who work barefoot on their farms, you sound all sentimental about how he handled his ducks I didn't see none of them get hurt, you must live a nice and tighty life, you probably wear gloves when you spray febreze in the house, I don't wear gloves when using certain power tools neither it's called common sense know what you're doing, it's okay to gets sparks on you're hand and get you're hands muddy sometimes, I like people like you

This would only work in a warm climate where you never have a freeze. Otherwise, this would be good for one season and then done. You can also buy a small plastic insert at Lowes and do the same thing. If you live in the midwest where I live, the koi pond I dug is 3.5 deep at one end so that the fish have a place to go in the winter and don't die. You also have to keep the ice from freezing over or the gasses will get trapped and your fish will die.
