Hi Lucia, so glad that I have randomly found your video. Thank you for sharing and I love your smile! I totally feel you...I came to the states after I graduated from college. More than 10 years has passed by and I have built a wonderful life here in OC with a loving husband and my two precious furry babies...At the age of 24, I had to relearn a lot of things (how to eat, how to talk, how to interact with people, how to express myself, how to do certain things, etc.) ...but I truly enjoy my life here. I’m glad I made the decision to come here and to stay here...I am happy that you enjoy your life here too. Wish you all the best! Xoxo
I'm Korean in Kentucky and I definitely understand about how you ended up coming to US because for me I just came here back in 2000 with my older brother and attended middle school and he went to high school. I definitely do understand your situation well in that sense
So crazy! I was also sent here by my dad when i was 16 years old just after middle school(from china)lol at first I resented him for doing that, i missed my family and friends so much, i wanted to go home, i would cry myself to sleep every night lol long story short im so glad my dad did what he did, i have my own family now and everything worked out just fine. ☺️
I couldn't tell you were from China. My niece also came to US for her middle school. Now she is about to graduate from nyu. I hope she could melt to here as well as you do. Your style is just amazing
Thanks for sharing that with us. I know I’m a year or 5 late to the party, but I found you guys a few weeks ago with your parody songs. It was nice to learn a little more about your journey getting where you are now.
Hello Lucia! I found this video because I heard you sing in another video, really like your voice (I love singing too). I was born and raised in North China too ( Beijing and Xi'an), and I have been living in the U.S for 9 years. So I can totally related to everything you talked about. 😊 You and Jason are such a perfect match!
Reading all the comments just makes me feel like there are a lot of people that felt the same way. Came here when I was 17 and had a boyfriend back home and had so many friends. Was homesick for a while like everyone else, but no regret now, time flew and here I am, 13 years later, married with 3 adorable kids, living in a small house but cozy and it feels right, it feels like home and i love being able to pamper myself from my hard earned money
i agree i was born here in the us and even though english was my second language i still to this day still mess up words even though i live here all my life and finish school
I never noticed an accent and I’m an American. Not only did I not hear an accent but your body language facial expressions and humor are non noticeable too. Welcome!
Americans have accents. You don't have at Texan drawl, you don't have a Cali-girl twang. Your English is very good for someone who has only been here for 10years. Overcoming challenges makes you that much better at living life. It gives you the knowledge that you can do anything if you practice patience and persistence. I'm happy to hear that you like living in America. And you have Jason. I love seeing your videos. The 13 minutes spent listening to you and getting to know you better, and seeing your smile, are probably going to be the best 13 minutes of my day.
Thanks for sharing Lucia ☺️ I’m an ABC (American born Chinese) and experienced a lot of cultural ignorance too (like being embarrassed of eating fried rice at school instead of PB&J)
I always love watching your videos!! You really are an inspiration! It would be great if you could do a video where you are speaking Mandarin! Defo
Jojo Jo there’s nothing wrong with having a accent but you have to give her props for doing such a good job of getting rid of majority of the accent. I been living here in America since I was 4 years old. Her Chinese accent is 99% gone. You know how hard of a task that is just give her props.
Your accent is okay. I do caught some non-native pronounciations. But as long as you can present yourself perfectly, accent doesn’t really matter. One no need to fake it, too. We respect american and we want to communicate with them in the language they understand. Just be yourself 😊
Wow I just came across Lucia on 小紅書 today and looked up all her social media accounts lol. Loooooove her personality ❤️ Honestly, I can definitely tell that she's not an English native speaker but she has great great great accent already. The only incorrect pronunciation is actually "proNOUNciation". 🤭 Cute though!
Pronunciation (correct): This is the standard way to spell the word that refers to how a word or language is spoken. Pronounciation (incorrect): This is a misspelling of "pronunciation." Either way your English is excellent🙂
its because they sent you to Dallas instead of a place with a large Chinese community. if you first went to LA or NYC it would take longer to get where you are in fluency. Best way to teach people a language is to immerse them in it kinda by force. Wanna learn spanish quickly? Go live in a place that only speaks spanish. Bet you will pick it up fast. listening closely i can tell you are not native speaker. just something in the speech. i used to do sales and conversed with a lot of people from all over the world and i could guess where they were from 8 out of 10 times. Wish you a nice and prosperous life in America.
I think your decision to say that someone harms you they should never be let back into your life so to speak I think that takes intelligence to figure that out
You do have an accent for sure but it is very minimal and sometimes almost unnoticeable. I would say you sound more like second generation chinese as far as accent goes but that's just my opinion.
your english is so good you sounds like you are born here. I am pretty born here but still have such heavy accent. I still sound asian and I hate it. You have no accent at all.
LUCIA go taking acting classes it will solves all your issue "in your head". Your fine, But if you want more then you have to undrstand the idiosyncrasies
I’m very curious the status of her visa? Does anyone have an idea? I see a lot of Chinese UA-camrs live in US, wonder what kind of identification status are they? Is being UA-camr granted to be stay in US permanently?
Do you know the Indian massacres in North America? Specifically, a Colorado territorial militia’s slaughter of Cheyennes at Sand Creek (1864) and the army’s slaughter of Shoshones at Bear River (1863), Blackfeet on the Marias River (1870), and Lakotas at Wounded Knee (1890)? This is a video that has nothing to do with any of that, if this is all you care or know about China, you should probably go back to school and learn the world history again , and you’ll see every country has similar incidents in the past.
As someone who watches your videos I always thought you were American, I never heard an accent until this video.

Are you guys all rich in china?😨😨 studying in usa is expensive af
Love love love this episode 😘😘😘😘😘😘 “you can always try harder, but don’t deny yourself”❤️❤️❤️❤️
Welcome to America. I am not one to discriminate against people, we are all human first, then our ethnicity comes second
I couldn't tell you were from China. My niece also came to US for her middle school. Now she is about to graduate from nyu. I hope she could melt to here as well as you do. Your style is just amazing

Thank you Lucia!so confident and gorgeous!
Wow I thought you are ABC. You are amazing. Thanks for sharing
Loved your story! So happy to have you here!
We are curious because we are taught not to trust the media, so we question what we know about china and the people. Loved the video, thank you..
Thanks for sharing Lucia!
Thanks for sharing Lucia ☺️ I’m an ABC (American born Chinese) and experienced a lot of cultural ignorance too (like being embarrassed of eating fried rice at school instead of PB&J)
Never be embarrassed of bring Chinese or eating fried 🍚
LUCIA I LOVE YOUR PERSONALITY AGH also same last name squad hehe
Relatively new fan. You are now a major internet celebrity the most beautiful girl on UA-cam. Congratulations on all your success and marriage.
Your subtle accent is so fucking beautiful and charming queen!
I always love watching your videos!! You really are an inspiration! It would be great if you could do a video where you are speaking Mandarin! Defo
Damn 10 years and you cut off the accent. So good
Umm. Do u need a hearing aid? She still has a Chinese accent. There's nothing wrong with that.
Jojo Jo there’s nothing wrong with having a accent but you have to give her props for doing such a good job of getting rid of majority of the accent. I been living here in America since I was 4 years old. Her Chinese accent is 99% gone. You know how hard of a task that is just give her props.
Jojo Jo why so salty ?
Jojo Jo yes she still has the accent. She said “backgron”. Nothing negative but it is still there 😊 Prob she still speak chinese daily, as well
@@JJ-yu6og yeah i definitely can recognize it, but she's done a good job getting rid of most of it

Wow I thought Lucia was born and raised in the US. I moved to the US when I was 14 too, now been here for 5 years
I like the fact that you say US and not "America" America is a CONTINENT!

And when I WAS 14 my dad made a radical decision to move to Tianjin 🤣 but now I live in US as well almost 10th year. World is such a small place now
I’m Tianjiner in Australia. 😁
You are an inspiration. Keep it up! Thanks for sharing.

I did mistake with grammar too :D
How do you stay in the state ?
No visa problem?
Is she really 40 years old???
I think you are one of those people who are good with learning language. You have minimum accent and you speak English fluently.
Hey now nothing wrong with dallassssss
I think your decision to say that someone harms you they should never be let back into your life so to speak I think that takes intelligence to figure that out
Why most of the moments are focusing on her accent?? This isn’t a Let’s-Learn-English channel, right??
can you do more videos on your lifestyle!
You do have an accent for sure but it is very minimal and sometimes almost unnoticeable. I would say you sound more like second generation chinese as far as accent goes but that's just my opinion.
Jiayi Sun
Jiayi Sun
