This number always amazes me, the vigour, the choreography and the enchantment it brings! wonderful!
The stamina it took for the cast to be able to do both dances back to back like that... damn!
I could watch this forever...there are no words to describe how wonderful this production was!!
It’s showing encore at the cinemas nationwide this Sunday .....get your ticket..got mine!
@@janethothersall8345 The filmed performance
It's the perfect match of tap dancing/song/story.
It fills you with joy
Nunca me cansaré de ver este número. Es incluso mejor que la versión de Broadway 😮
I would love to be able to dance like that. Imagine the excitement of being up there performing that.
Clare is a phenomenon.
Bravissimo! 👏👏👏
I lost my breath watching this
Brava!!!
I’d give my right leg to be able to dance like that.
This number always amazes me, the vigour, the choreography and the enchantment it brings! wonderful!
Imagine the hours of rehearsal it took to bring this performance to this level of perfection! Absolutely amazing!
Saw this fabulous show twice at The Theatre Royal, Drury Lane. It was the best show I have ever seen. Certainly hard to beat.
They filmed in November 2018 for Cinemas in 2019
I feel sorry for the girl at 2:45 who gets pushed out of the line and has to rush across the stage.
She handled it like a professional, you've got to admit
Wow unbelievable what a horrible year 2020 is
MIss going to the opera / musical so much.
I saw this musical in London and the incredible talent is just outstanding!❤️
This is terrific. How many dancers are there? They move too fast to count!
I wish it was in the theaters in the US for more that just one god damed day!!!!!! 42nd street is literally my favorite show! god i want a revival on broadway!!!!!!!!
I wish they would make a version of it! It's my favorite show also.
Love Hamilton but how did this not win for Best Choreographer?
I saw this a few times in London when it was on (the Clare Halse version) and it was one of the most joyous things I have ever seen
I was fortunate enough to see this in London and they blew me away! This video is the single best tap dancing I’ve ever seen in my life… Brilliant!
I never tire of these numbers, Randy. I appreciate the intricate footwork and stamina needed to dance all the numbers in the show, especially for the actress playing the lead.
Food for the soul. Pure and simple. Absolute perfection.
The 2001 Tony Awards had a similar but better opening. They started with the dancers tapping on stage, then they cut to pre-filmed footage of them leaving Radio City Music Hall to go tapping up 42nd Street, into the subway at Times Square, tapping through a subway car, then they cut back live to the dancers tapping back into Radio City. Fab!
One of the original dancers from that 2001 performance left a comment on the video saying the tap dancing on the stairs bit was also pre-filmed at Foxwood Theatre, so the only live part was after they enter Radio City, whereas in this 2018 Olivier performance they did the entire thing live, so if you ask me, this one is more impressive.
Live in NYC and saw this on Broadway. This number blew me away
I don't understand --- they can't hit the high note on "feet," but can hit "A - " in "Avenue" which is a perfect 4th higher. Yet on "Years" they hit it perfectly.
Purring with pleasure - it can't get any better than this can it?
A huge splashy musical brought to us by the tradition, imagination and execution of NYC's Broadway babies. Long live the Great White Way.
I mean.... I mean... FFS!! This was AMAZING!!!!
Obra de arte !,,,,,,,,
My favorite musical !!!!
Awesome!
Brilliant, watched it, I dont know how many times, its just such a good entertaining number
So good!
Really upset this hasn’t been transferred back to Broadway yet
Check out the 1930's movie with Ruby Keeler

Just fabulous!!!!!!
Amazing show I saw this show in New Zealand amazing
sheer delight
Someone copied Dale W
Far too gentle and classical to my taste… far to conformstic, no individualité, real creativity or something new. Just the Nth version of something so predictable that it is probably OK for coach potatoes.
as a coach potatoe, it is OK
