As a diehard Habs fan ,I can handle one more year of missing the playoffs.
I know the future is bright, Canadiens will be good for a long time .
Me too amigo. However I definitely want to see them nip and get very close to the playoffs. And be an exciting team ofcourse. If they finish bottom 5 again, than I'll be starting to get irritated.
I look at Detroit... their fans have endured 8 years of missing the playoffs & Buffalo 17 years!! So our 3 years isn't too bad, not that we should be measuring ourselves against teams like Buffalo. 😖

@@georgeberthiaume4496 7th last year in games played with 70 games, far from being "always injured" (yes the team's injury for the last 2-3 years has been insane but from 44 games played the prior year and 70 games last year, it's a good improvement, hopefully a full year this year.)
he's going nowhere- they're going to sign himto an 8 year deal. some media outlets have been waging a campaign against him for some unknown reason.
If you want to trade to get a good offensive player, you will need to give a good player in return...Guhle is possibly expendable depending who they are getting back !!!
I think Stu is underestimating the habs lineup with a healthy Dach and improved young core. They could fight for a playoff spot especially if they sign a guy or two. They will not finish bottom 5 again unless they intentionally start to tank late in the season or have constant injuries as usual. Bottom 15 maybe.
Side note: The true team will be with Demidov, Hage, Reinbacher, and F Xhekaj. So unfortunately a couple more years minimum for them to grow and gel to be consistent contenders. And that’s only if goaltending holds up ex Fowler/Monty etc, and they build 2 big tough bottom 2 lines.
For Demidov following some recent info... the team or league owning his rights in Russia is now allowed to sell his rights to the Canadien... if so... this could be a very interesting development...

Gallagher is not in the realm as Subban Koivu
#11 Saku Koivu was a great guy. A good #2 Centre Like #35/#14 Tomas Plekanec too bad the Only guy who was talented enough to be #1 Centre while Koivu was here is #63 Mike Ribeiro but have other problem too.
Subban is another great guy ! A good D-Man too Norris Trophy Winner.
Strangely Brandan Gallagher was able to score 31 et 33 goals in a seasons More than Koivu, Ribeiro or Subban , the other guy who got more goals is #67 Max Paccioretty.
I watch games of Laval triing to reach the playoff last year. And i did not like the games of Reinbacher on the defensive side. The worst was a selfish penalty he took that cost a crucial game. Same kind of move that Connely did during the U18 championship. But nobody criticized him, and if you do, then expect to recived shit right away.
Every time these 2 push the narrative that the fans are going to start some sort of revolution if we don't get good asap. It's complete nonsense.

No his knee has been injured and ankle too once this year. Dach had many injuries already at this age, it's genetics at this point

He's not a guarantee but if he played in the OHL this year, the media hype and expectations would litteraly be ×3 (but he would not play for the Habs obviously). This kid will only not reach his potential if he gets injured real bad, I see a floor of 70-80 points.. An artist on skates, unreal creativity!
