    This is a good way to learn this procedure. No wonder someone quoted me 1900 dollars for labor on my 08 colorado 4wd.

    Best way to replace the timing chain is to install a 5.3 in it. Or better yet a OM617
    Mine timing chain Is out and I’m swapping over to a Mercedes diesel

    Do the sprocket come out easily?
    Just need the camshaft holder right?

    • @santosafebus6061
      @santosafebus6061  2 роки тому +2

      Yes, but before you take out the time chain you need to lose the two sprockets you hold with the camshaft holder or with the pulling holder is easier for me, the timing chain have to be aligned and to put back don't torque the two sprockets into you finish with the installation of the timing chain, is the best way for me I holp this tip can help. Have a nice day

    what happened to your original timing chain?

    • @santosafebus6061
      @santosafebus6061  7 років тому +6

      there was not sound but was a check engine light on, went to the dealer and spent 2,300.00 and in the end they suggest that was the timing chain with an estimate starting on 4,000.00 and I decided to do it myself

      Hector Contreras thank you for you reply, I think the only way to be 100% the is timing chain is to take out the valve cover and you going to see the timing chain and if you see is to loose. Need to be change
