Best way to replace the timing chain is to install a 5.3 in it. Or better yet a OM617 Mine timing chain Is out and I’m swapping over to a Mercedes diesel
Yes, but before you take out the time chain you need to lose the two sprockets you hold with the camshaft holder or with the pulling holder is easier for me, the timing chain have to be aligned and to put back don't torque the two sprockets into you finish with the installation of the timing chain, is the best way for me I holp this tip can help. there was not sound but was a check engine light on, went to the dealer and spent 2,300.00 and in the end they suggest that was the timing chain with an estimate starting on 4,000.00 and I decided to do it myself

@@santosafebus6061 i tried ising the information from autozone because i replaced my valves on burnt out and made a hole so i replaced it and used the torque spec for the head bolts and it seemed to tight and at the end seemed like the lost pressure from stretching so i dont want to over torque those parts

This is a good way to learn this procedure. No wonder someone quoted me 1900 dollars for labor on my 08 colorado 4wd.
