Thanks, replaced fuel tank straps and noticed a ground wire on one of them but was not connected to anything, looks like it goes to the fuel filter. Just got done replacing all the differential bearings, fuel filter is next!

Not sure your year but the 2005 Liberty fuel filter is in the tank attached to the pump. This jeep must be an 2002-2004 maybe?

06 just has the strainer on the pump and the pump is 221+.. 03 is just sender and it's 150+ and 35+ for filter; parts houses don'tcarry the filter. Both 3.7 tanks I've done
Drop the tank it takes 1/4 the time, and epoxy that lid if you do it the way in the video; pump gasket doesn't stop all venting

Have you ever replaced the steel fuel line from the engine to the tank? Mine just rusted out perfectly to spray on my exhaust manifold 😢

@@lilrider100 Ok, just wondered if you had any pointers or advice. I think I will replace it with nylon fuel line and zip tye it to the original fuel line starting at the fuel rail at the engine to a point somewhere under the drivers seat...then I will use a compression fitting to attach the nylon fuel line to the original steel line running back to the fuel tank from there... Sound feasible?

@@lilrider100 I just made a video of the rusted fuel line in the engine compartment of my 2006 Jeep Liberty Renegade 4x4. I will post another as/when I fix it 😎

I don't know why I'm calling around auto parts stores and they're all telling me that you can't change the fuel filter you have to change the pump too?

    • @ArmyGrunt1986

You have to order this filter online(Amazon, Ebay, ect..)
Part stores don't carry it because it's supposed to be a "lifetime filter" however the filter might be lifetime but the cheap plastic fuel lines attached to are definitely NOT lifetime. I had to replace this twice because of leaking Quick Connects.

These things are such piles of shit they didn't even think serviceability would be necessary. 🤣
