@camellia7708 i started to learn to play by ear 12 years ago, but i only recognized 1 or 2 notes at that time. since then, whenever i heard a song, i tried to guess what notes were being played, and checked to see if they matched by playing them on my piano. gradually i played all the right hand notes correctly, and then i started to guess the chords for my left hand. i think it took me 4 or 5 years to learn to play by ear. i also play classical songs (from sheet music) and they helped me remember how the notes and chords sound. i’m not sure if i already had a perfect pitch, because when i tried to guess the notes, i got more than 90 percent of them wrong. i think you can learn it this way but i’m sure there are more approaches to learn to play by ear. good luck:)
