Lived in China for 5 years! Absolutely loved it. Moved to the UK, skilled job and all. Jeez it's expensive! I can't even afford my kids to go to preschool. Absolutely ridiculous! Keeping your home warm is costing an arm and a leg. The water here is absolutely disgusting and filled with drugs. Pot holes everywhere! Nah its not for me! I'm moving back to China end of the year to refine my skills and then coming home (SA) instead. I'm not built for grey skies and rainy days where all you do is watch TV all the time.

hehehe, yes if one was born in SA and then moved to another country with cold snowy winters it is not easy to get used to the weather, and yes crime is high in SA but in a country like Germany with its open border system crime is slowly rising, with all the Turks and asylum seekers in Germany crime is occurring more and more as they know once the crime has taken place it's difficult to catch them as many are not fully documented yet, like in Hannover some of these small side alleys the roads are not kept up and are slowly getting potholes or the tar is breaking up,ok there are very few of them but still,

Several things that are working against europe long term:
    1. Ageing human resources. Their youth arent having enough babies, so they are forced to import labour from the outside, which increases cultural tensions.
    2. Tiny land resource. Their countries are tiny and they dont have a lot of land to exploit to grow their economies.
    3. Lack of natural resources. They are big exporters of natural resources to do anything. Once African countries start demanding for a fair price for their goods, europe is in trouble.
    4. Access to cheap energy. They have just cut themselves off from cheap Russian energy, so energy costs are not gonna be so competitive long term.

Was listening to James O' Brein on LBC...a British talk radio show. I enjoy listening to the host. Britain sounds very much like it's on a downward spiral. There's sewage in the Thames, Food Banks everywhere and schools literally falling apart. So much blame on a Party that last ruled 13 years ago. Government corruption, people struggling to heat their homes and what surprised me was the amount of theft. Even the simplest of goods, like toiletries are behind cages or lock and key exactly the same as the large cities in the USA. This is happening on the High Street.

Because just lucky me they first sent my bank card, then i got a letter stating the card has been cancelled as the procedure was wrong, thy should first of sent me my pin, then endly my pin letter came and my bank card, the bankin app in Germany is bad, it does not work so easy as in SA, Deutsche Bank took over the Post bank and for 3 years now the service is so bad,

The NHS is another money pit....more and more money is thrown at the NHS, and it gets worse every year, corrupt suppliers charge extortionate prices for needed supplies/drugs/equipment. There is also the massive benefit fraud committed in the UK to the tune of £6.5 billion (2021 - 2022)....
there is no party worth voting for in the UK, the liberal conservatives are in it for themselves and their associates, labour would cause the UK government to be bankrupt within 5 years and the lib dems wouldn't know how to sit the right way on a toilet seat..... the greens...... not worth even mentioning..... might have to vote for reform UK to see how they get on...

The west is lost in sophistry, resting on its laurels, assuming it has all the answers. But now, e.g., Germany will be paying 4 times what it was for energy. The west thinks its values and institutions create wealth, but first it conquered vast continental resources and built the luxury of these values and institutions thereupon. SA does have resources Europe can only dream of, should be one of the richest countries on earth. Pre wwi European culture was one thing, now both German revolutionary conservatives and leftists would call the west a dictatorship of the bourgeoisie, in which nothing at all is sacred, as such, society's moral fibre is disintegrating, especially as its vast wealth dries up into high debt causing elite factions to wrestle over the crumbs and a rise in corruption. The long term fate of a monarchic dynasty is tied to that of the state, unlike 4/5-year cash & carry politicians

We would see a genocide because no one would survive Winter's snow without electricity. African countries can survive from being extinct even if they would live poor without electricity and infrastructure like they have demonstrated for the past years in other African countries that were extremely poor, they are unbelievably and impressively resilient. But being a poor country in Europe is fatal because of climate change, snow and the different variety of natural disasters that occur there.

Yet people survived in Europe for thousands of years without electricity. They could do it again if they relearn those ancient skills. People in Africa survived without electricity until quite recently. Your own grandparents and great grandparents may possibly have not had electricity if they lived in far off rural areas. No refrigerator, no freezer, but they didn't starve to death. They had other ways of making do without those things. They had their own version of the same technology. Cold rooms built with coal and cooled with water. I remember seeing one on a farm when I was young. All we need to do is rediscover those lost arts and we could thrive.

You can't go hunting because animals dont show up in the forest when its snowing. @@wahwah7701 people go ice fishing in Alaska in winter. They make a hole in the ice and catch fish. Hunting can be done just before winter and the winter snow and ice can be used to preserve the meat ( you said it's basically a giant freezer). People planted crops for harvesting in autumn and preserved a lot of that to use during winter. This you don't just do where it snows. You have to do this in sunny SA as well because you very limited options for crop growing in winter here as well. I know since we maintain a vegetable garden that provides most of our needs in summer and frozen vegetables for winter. Even now there are people that survive in harsh climates like Alaska without all of these modern day conveniences. It all comes down to preparing to survive with what you have and making do without the out of season produce we have become used to. If people want to survive and prepare accordingly they can. Back in 2000 when I lived in the UK, the English youth was notorious across Europe for their laziness. This is part of the reason why they had a working holiday visa scheme, and why they allowed so much immigration, because the locals were there to do the job, but they couldnt be bothered. And why would they if there is such a thing as the dole? Most South Africans have a Wakanda idea of the West, where everything "just works", but even back then, my experience in London showed my that it is not the futuristic paradise that we like to think it is.
