- PRINCE William was right to warn Harry about his whirlwind romance with Meghan, a royal expert has said.
Harry and Meghan dramatically quit their jobs as working royals in 2020 - just two years after their Windsor Castle wedding.
Former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond said Meghan should have been given more time to decide if she could "hack" being a royal.
She compared Harry and Meghan's hasty courtship with the slow-burn romance of William and Kate.

Not making excuses for M&H, but William and Catherine met when they were young (19/20 years old). Not everyone is as lucky as they are to have met early on in life and under ideal circumstances such as theirs. When people are in their 30s they often know what they want and think of how much longer they can reasonably bear children (esp women). Sophie and Edward are an exception but were both in their late 20s when they 1st met.

Just hearing that stupid name “Waity Katie” makes me angry. I think they both made the right decision to wait so long to make sure it was good and solid, and that she knew what she was getting into. But the Royals will never get it right with some people. The marriages that were rushed failed spectacularly, but the ones with a lot of time and care have succeeded thus far. But people STILL get all pissy. It’s pretty obvious that marrying into the RF is a tough deal. If you’re not in it for the right reasons, it sucks to be you (and everyone else involved). Yes I'm afraid I agree with you. Both Prince Edward and Prince William's marriages seem to have worked out fine, due to longer courtships first with their spouses, where they were all living in the UK, not long distance relationships mostly like H&M had for ages.
MM only really lived full time in the UK six months prior to her marriage. The first 18 months + was a long distance relationship with MM flying in and out between filming in Suits.

There was a reason Meghan kept Harry a secret, she was working on her facade, and needed to seal the deal, before she could Wallace Simpson his life.

Her family like her dad and half siblings are fairly decent people. Her father was a award winning lighting director and her sister Samantha has a couple of degrees. Samantha is more highly educated than MM. Even on her mother's side of the family are fairly decent people. MM I feel was afraid to invite any other family members for other reasons, not because she was ashamed of them. Sometimes after a couple of drinks people talk more freely etc
According to Samantha Markle in an early TV interview Harry did meet Thomas Markle snr. She went into detail about how great the two got on at the meeting. In later interviews Samantha claimed they hadn't met. Lying seems to be the mo for all the family not just Meghan.

Totally agree with you on this. My sibling was married to one. Their so-called “romance” was really swift and how quickly they decided to get married. Our family were never introduced to her nor were we aware that he was dating her. Once married, he hardly even visited us as he was cooped with her side of family only, even on special occasions. We didn’t even get to see their children as often as we should. My mum had to always make a point to visit them. Thank god they’ve split up, it was quite a fight and even stressed out our entire family with the court battle over the kids and of course alimony. A narcissist will quickly make you marry them and distant you from your family members.

William was right to advise Harry to slow down, mainly so Harry could educate Meghan further about entering a life of Royal Duty. We now know Meghan Markle will not listen to any advice. It was the best possible outcome for the RF and the Country, when they handed in a letter of resignation and left our shores ending up in California…to lead the ‘quiet life that they apparently craved. Dull, unambitious, lazy, ran afterWilliam, took lots of holidays once married, called out for hardly doing many royal engagements for years, lived in Norfolk while William wanted to work and his gran was getting older. Yeah, such short memories you all have of Kate and her lazy ways. Ivam sorry she has cancer, but stop pretending Kate was this wonderful woman. Even the late queen voiced her concern that Kate had no job for years.
My late Mum and Dad met in 1948 when she was 19 and he was 20 and they married in 1954 and Mum always said that they “grew up” together and that was how she felt about William and Catherine, that they had grown up together too. I believe Diana had warned her sons not to rush into marriage as she had done and I think William took her advice and waited until he and Catherine were sure it was right for them. When he advised his brother not to rush into marriage I think he was just echoing their mothers advice but sadly Harry didn’t listen. Catherine had plenty of time to get to know William’s family, to get used to being in the public eye and to understand what her role would be. Even after her marriage she took things slowly and was happy to learn and take advice from our late Queen and the other members of the Royal Family whereas Harry’s wife thought she knew best and thought she could change the Royal Family and that was why she was never going to fit in. She wanted to be the “star” of the show when all she was ever going to be was a supporting player.
Sweet. I was 14 and my husband 15 when we met, we started dating at 15 and 16. We married at 28 and 29. And we had our first and only child at 44 and 46 (he had just 46). We are now 49 and 50 with a 4-year-old having the best time of our lives! My parents were married 51 years before my father passed away.

Whether Harry was "just a man in a rush" or not, it is clear that Meghan Markle was a woman on a mission, and very much in a rush. When one has "cracked a safe" and robbed part of its contents, one does not linger to adapt and live in the context in which the safe is situated.
