It means so much to the families of all the soldiers on parade who are filled with pride to see them parading in front of the monarch. The bond between the armed forces and the Royal Family is deep with shared values of service and duty. The people calling for a republic don't understand that bond.

The Palace covered up a ton of Harry's bad behavior. Even if Harry returned to GB to live even part-time, he would not have his life organized and his reputation protected as it was before he left. He would still not be a working royal. I imagine he would not be included in any important state events. His life would not return to how it was before he left. His popularity would not instantly be restored. I think he probably has some unrealistic expectations. He does not understand the hurt feelings his actions have caused. The Palace covered up a ton of Harry's bad behavior. Even if Harry returned to GB to live even part-time, he would not have his life organized and his reputation protected as it was before he left. He would still not be a working royal. I imagine he would not be included in any important state events. His life would not return to how it was before he left. His popularity would not instantly be restored. I think he probably has some unrealistic expectations. He does not understand the hurt feelings his actions have caused. He sees himself and Meghan as the victims.
