Epic Views & Unexpected Twists: Our Journey to the Badlands

In this episode of our mother-son RV adventure, we set out to find dispersed camping overlooking the breathtaking Badlands. Our journey wasn’t without its challenges-after dealing with some solar power issues and needing to recharge, we finally made our way to a spot with the most incredible views we’ve ever seen.
As we settled in, a storm started to roll in, bringing with it strong winds, rainbows, and one of the most stunning sunsets imaginable. But our joy was short-lived when we noticed a fire had started in the canyon due to a lightning strike. With the wind blowing directly toward us, we made the tough decision to leave, both of us heartbroken to leave such a beautiful place.
We ended up at a KOA, which, while nice, didn’t quite match the vibe we were hoping for after experiencing the raw beauty of the Badlands. Waking up packed like sardines in an RV park was a stark contrast to the natural wonder we’d just left behind. But we tried to turn our mood around with some music, dancing, and a good swim before hitting the road again.
