I’m laughing so hard I’m crying! LOL 😢 First off let me say that your video is not too bad. And I do agree that parking in the Niagara area is definitely an issue. Have you ever tried to park in any other tourist area like New York City, or Chicago or Los Angeles? Unfortunately, free parking is a thing of the past anywhere you travel now. If you head to Toronto, that’s where you’ll get the real shock about parking . “Canadian currency is in meters”??????? What the heck is that? Canadian currency is in Canadian dollars! It has absolutely nothing to do with the metric system of measurement. A little research goes along way! I don’t know if any other persons have commented on that, but I’m just laughing too hard to read the other comments. I do have one question however, if Canadian dollars are in metres (meters - US spelling) does that mean that the US dollars are in yards? LOL 😂😂😂
Depending on the amount, if it's large enough we measure it in liters (or that would probably be litres for you). We know parking in cities can be expensive. $24/hr seems a little excessive though, don't you think? We actually found some really great free parking in Chicago!
@@SteveAudra … Boy, I sure hope you’re being sarcastic. Because if you’re not … I’ll just leave it there! Sadly, if you paid $24 per hour for parking in Niagara, then I have to apologize to you because whoever charged you that saw you coming. Thank you for visiting Ontario and Canada for the second time. Niagara Falls used to be known as the "Honeymoon Capital of the World." They don't use that line anymore. You two still look like you are on your honeymoon! As far as the CBSA (Canada Border Services Agency) officer asking about where you live and sending to you to "immigration." Crossing an international border by land is very different than by air. By air in general people have a return ticket and more than likely will be returning home. By land its basically a "one way ticket." By you saying "we live in the van" 'we have a mailing address" etc. She is hearing you do not have a permanent home to return to or a traditional job to return to (you work remotely) The fear of the officer is that you will permanently stay in the country (illegal alien) and not return to the USA thus sending you to "secondary." or "immigration" as she called it. Weapons to defend you from wild animals is Ok to carry. Be safe and happy RVing. "keep your stick on the ice"
That isn’t that bad crossing the border my experience I am Canadian and I had a bad experience crossing the border in the u.s.a. Through I was smuggling drugs I had my car ripped apart or what didn’t find nothing. I never drove back there again to Florida.
@@mikemckinley1031 Yeah, it wasn't really bad at all. We were relieved. That's really terrible that they tear cars apart like that. I guess I can understand why but it's still frustrating! Makes us reconsider crossing the border for sure.
@@SteveAudra Well, I guess it’s because all the drugs coming from Mexico over the border maybe that’s why the border control is that bad but there are a lot of criminals order control that let people go through with drugs. That’s why the US and Canada are filled with drugs. It’s sad.
So if that first time of your visit to our amazing country had happen in America, your car would have been bullet ridden' so consider yourselves very lucky.
You know Canada is a Country and we even have our own currency …..I was with a US friend in Montreal in a taxi and he tried to pay with US dollars …..😂
That border lady had no reason to send you to immigration, I mean technically it was because you told her you travelled full time (dont do that) but she should have just sent you on your way. Thankfully the second guy had a brain.
Only suggestion is to not cover your face when at the border crossing while answering questions. Otherwise welcome and I am so surprised how many campers are here from Florida.

Maybe I missed the joke. Canadian money is in meters? Bwahahaha. Yea, no. Canada is metric as far as weight and measures but that has nothing to do with currency. You might want to correct that,
Yeah, and they asked even more questions then we showed, sometimes asking the same question more than once as if they were trying to catch us in a lie! But at least it ended well!
I've been to Canada 5 times on vacation while towing a boat. They acted like I wasnt going fishing, lol. I know they ask a lot. I seen people get their vehicle torn apart while we were able to go past them. Consider the source and what is going on. Most people dont live in a van with no time that they need to be home. Most dont roam around "aimlessly" They have no idea what you may have or be smuggling in your van. I was thinking " who would cut out a kitty shaped area for the cat if they were smuggling drugs, lol? It appears they didnt search you. DId they search coming back? BTW, they took Ginger's pepper spray back in 1999 but we got it back on the way home. It's funny how we see commercials inviting US citizens to come fish and hunt but they wont allow guns there. LOL
@@rongreen7308 We certainly understand but that doesn't help with the stress of it! We've heard all kinds of stories about what people smuggle across borders. They didn't take our pepper spray at least.
Going to Canada, nope! Border Patrol are very difficult people to deal with,Period. They need to learn from the European countries, way much easier to travel. Even if you tell them you are going to Alaska, they make it very difficult, really!

And I agree that is definitely embarrassing to hear of such gouging in our area. I know it’s bad enough being a tourist town, but that would be outrageous.
@@ka1133 Yes, we're just kidding about the currency. 🙂 That's just Steve's brand of humor. He often says off the wall things. But seriously, there were spots at the falls that were $24/hr and people were paying it! We did not. We would never. We'd just as soon keep driving and go somewhere else!
Also curious do you know if they ever allow Bible studies in the world smallest chapel?
@@jshenderson Well, there was a Bible there so... But really, I don't know. We don't know if it's actually used for anything or not. I wonder what the original purpose was.
@SteveAudra I am seeing a google search in my future
I couldn't tell, did they take away your bear/pepper spray?
They did not. The bear still don't have a chance against us.
@@SteveAudra Lol!
At 15:30 you said Canadian currency is in meters? What the hell?
We were KIDDING! 🤦🏼♀️
There is a church in Alberta that can sit 10000 people 6 at a time.
Canada is getting very strick now, we are deporting alot of immigrants so they are making sure visitors will return back to where they come from. Your cat is beautiful.I live an hour away from Niagara Falls. Enjoy your trip
Noted. We did tell them we were only planning to be there a few days but maybe they didn't believe us! Thanks, we think our kitty girl is pretty too! 🙂🐈⬛
Thank you for visiting Canada, hope you had fun. As a home-sick Canadian living abroad, thanks. Come back.
We're glad you enjoyed it! The area we were in is certainly beautiful!
Thanks so much!
Canadian currency is in meters, I laughed so hard!!
🤣 We're glad someone gets Steve's humor!
It’s sad.
Be safe out there and have fun on your journey. I’m sure I will get your next video now that I am subscribed to your channel.
Thanks so much! 🙂
PLEASE TELL ME OUR BORDER GUARDS AREN'T SO PETTY AS TO REFUSE A VAN AND CAT INTO OUR GREAT COUNTRY!!!
Enjoy your visit! Canadian dollars are meters???? Umm, no. They are dollars. USD is usually worth about 25 cents more than a CDN Dollar.
Yes, we know! 🙂 That's just Steve's being silly!
there small churches but big mosques and temples
So if that first time of your visit to our amazing country had happen in America, your car would have been bullet ridden' so consider yourselves very lucky.
@@AJGUNNER You think so?
No fruits wearing superman Tee shirts allowed in Canada!
Bahahaha! Border agent said the same thing.
You do know that it is best if the passenger just shuts up and lets the driver answer all the questions.
save all receipts i think sales tax is refundable
Not anymore. The government needs all the money it can get its grubby little hands on.

You know Canada is a Country and we even have our own currency …..I was with a US friend in Montreal in a taxi and he tried to pay with US dollars …..😂
Wait, what? Canada is a different country? Lol! We just pay with credit card. Easier than having to mess with a different currency.
The border is tedious...it's all up to the individual guard...the chick was a typical intense overthinker the dude was smart and cool
It really does seem like it just depends on who you get 😕
'Canadian currency is in meters"? lol
@@airborne63 🤣
That border lady had no reason to send you to immigration, I mean technically it was because you told her you travelled full time (dont do that) but she should have just sent you on your way. Thankfully the second guy had a brain.
Lesson learned for sure! It seems like a roll of the dice though with how it will go at the border!
Canada's currency is in meters.😂(Psst, it's metres.)
And our US currency is in ounces. 🙂
Will they let us in??? Not if they see you talking into a banana..
🤣🤣
Only suggestion is to not cover your face when at the border crossing while answering questions.
Otherwise welcome and I am so surprised how many campers are here from Florida.
Thanks! We didn't realize we covered our face at all. I guess Americans go north to Canada in the summer and Canadians go south to Florida in the winter! 🙂
Actually recording the interaction with the CBSA staff can result in seizures and a ban from entering Canada ..
We couldn't find that in any of our research. Do you have a source we can refer to for that information?
@@SteveAudra ask next time ..
Maybe I missed the joke. Canadian money is in meters? Bwahahaha. Yea, no. Canada is metric as far as weight and measures but that has nothing to do with currency. You might want to correct that,
@@kenlewis9115 How much is a kilometer worth then?
@@SteveAudra A bit less than a mile...
😆
Two likes, 2 views, 1 comment. Thge questioned you pretty good until Immigration guy was in a hurry.
Let me see your kitties
This is embarrassing. Power tripping guards. In days gone by they would've said "American? Go on through and welcome to Canada!" or the other way round.
i can always tell who the canadians are , their foreheads sloped down and their eyes are closer together and they talk funny sorree
since most canadians cant read numbers they color their money and speak with indian accents
for a few seconds a was ashamed to be canadian.
Really? Why?
