- I grabbed some replays featuring DyNaMic and I found myself confused. I haven't watched or played any Remastered in about 3 or 4 months, so maybe things have changed, but go on a journey of discovery with me as we search for normalcy and don't find it in these matches.

the slow decent into Madness actually is kinda funny
actually in the 2nd game Dynamic might be scouting for the Cruiser rush.
I used to do double Cruiser rush on this map, against Soviet it's quite the show, since they don't do Submarines usually.
OK, that makes a lot of sense. Quick water scout, keep the naval yard around until he's sure what the other guy is going for.
@@OneSybert yes exactly. would be only better if you could back-drop some riflemen in the base backyard and possibly snipe that MCV. :-)
Do you have any strategies for Docklands?
Well great games but really strange strategies used, kinda liked that, usually it's just tanks and rifleman, nice to see something else

1:37 The reason is probably that games like Red Alert 1 were not made with multiplayer in mind. Online games weren’t much of a thing back then. The main goal were the singleplayer campaigns.
I very much doubt this was the Dynamic who finished the last few season ranked #1 on the leaderboard playing these matches. DeathMetal is currently ranked 671st and they beat this player. ABEgrone is currently ranked outside the top 1000, it would be odd for Dynamic to be matched against someone ranked that low. It's just someone random on the leaderboard who copied the name of one of Dynamic's account. Based on the strategies and build orders and stuff, this isn't high level Red Alert Remastered gameplay, although the flame tower rush is a strategy that a lot of high level players use on that map (Canyon) when they are Soviets playing against Allies. Interesting matches though.

that combination of bad luck, ineptitude, bad AI pathing, and probably tabbing to a different spot on the map at the worst time has got to be one of the funniest things i've seen in RA. and that's coming from a dude that's seen RC1985's shenanigans.
1:18 The nice thing with asymmetrical maps is they allow players with different skill levels to play on the same map.
17:10 never did versus expect for friends but even would have found that. Exploring the map with 2 soldiers is the lowest of low moves

I don’t think so… now I’m trying to remember if they added attack-moving or not… I don’t think you have either.
Hopefully there will be a console port I have been playing C&C on Playstation's for over 20 year's it would be great to see these games back on console.

so it´ll be pretty much tankrush to until there is a propper RA remake or Sybert decides to do a OpenRA cast if he wants to ...

Definitely weird games. I'm pretty sure the meta wouldn't have changed since the game is infinity years old, so I'd assume just very casual playing. It's weird to see the juxtaposition of knowing the maps (e.g. MCV placement in game 1, base creep strat in game 3) but not really trying (poor ref placement, goofy build with deliberately low eco, lazy tank micro).
I did like that last game though.
Was truly frustrating to watch yellow in that first game. Managed to survive the initial light tank rush but messed up build order completely. with all those ore fields he should have had money coming out of his ears. i'd have built a refinery on each field n a couple more ore trucks then gone for gems. he'd have been laughing. especially with a depot. no teslas either. just a weird play. there ws no real reason for him to move his mcv with his lac of base crawling

All it does is give you a backup and put all in one spot ... well... not that great

I am convinced the one downvote I see is Sybert lamenting the state of the C&C meta.
Aftermath expansion would help this a bit, but I think EA missed their opportunity to put some balance changes on the multiplayer parts of the game. I played the original RA on cncnet for 5 years and am considered very good, but I do support the concept of balance as seen in newer games. It could have still been about tanks as the core unit since Q-move takes some skill, but the other units could have been more supplementary to the success of the tanks.

Are they supposed to be pro-gamers or just sort of random players? They don't seem like pro gamers. That might explain the "weird" play
DyNaMic is (was?) a top player, but these games are not a good showing of that.
In late May and early June I casted games showing DyNaMic vs BikeRush and then vs rawsteel and those series were much more fast, aggressive, and active. Those were more typical of what I was familiar with Red Alert Remastered games being like.
These are just weird games.
1:40 symetric maps are boring AF. It removes all map knowledge required. its also boring to look at
What a weird take. Especially since games with symmetrical maps still require knowledge of how your opponent can use aspects of the map to their advantage or how you could use it to your advantage. Much better than just having one spawning location be inherently better than the other.

I casted OpenRA a long time ago.
Haven't jumped back into it. Nothing against OpenRA and from what I hear it's a better competitive game, just haven't taken the plunge.
@@OneSybert I've seen it ;-) but good to know that you acknowledge this stuff. Ora is much more balanced and not a tank spam fest and has better options for casters. For inspiration Five Aces does great in casting Ora.
