Thanks for that, Jessica! Since reading Save the Cat Writes a Novel, I've given up pantsing in favour of plotting, and I've seen a big difference in my writing. I'm no longer fumbling around at 10,000 or so words, wondering what's next. Planning, including writing individual POV beat sheets, has silenced my inner editor; she's content to let me write, confident I know where I am going and will call upon her when I need her. Writing is fun again! Thanks!

This makes my week! Thanks, Heather - I'm so happy to hear how STC is helping you, and that writing is fun for you again. I wish you continued success!

Thank you very much for this. I recently realized my story has three main characters, two protagonists, and one antagonist. I thought it was a "one main character" story because he had the more pronounced character arc and changes the most, but the story actually revolves around the second protagonist. And my villain is driving the whole thing. I had only done one beat sheet, but I now have more work to do. So thanks . . . I guess??? LOL 😉

Yes - more beat sheets may help. Thank you for your nice comments - it sounds like you are on the right path now! Best of luck with your writing!

Wow, I really like the "world beat sheet." I'd like to see more on this because I feel confused about how to use it for the other beats. Thank you! :)

There are some tricks to using the beat sheet on worlds and I've added this to my list of topic ideas for future videos. Great idea! Thanks!

I can’t thank you enough. Since using the beat sheet method, I’ve never had to do any gigantic developmental edits, which not only saves me time but makes my agent’s life a bit easier too. She’s told several other clients about Save the Cat thanks to seeing how well it works for me and my books. I have a question. I’m about to write my first dual timeline novel (same MC/POV in both timelines). I know not every story fits perfectly into the beats, but what’s your recommendation for using the beat sheet with a dual timeline? Thank you so much. Seriously, I have no words to truly express how grateful I am.🥰

Thanks for this, it's super helpful, as was the book! The novel I'm planning has 2 POV's told in 2 halves (not interspersed, though their stories overlap) with my second hero taking over after midpoint. I'm struggling with planning their beats. Could my one true hero's bad guys close in beat potentially happen off the page, while the secondary hero narrates, allowing them to catch up with each other during all is lost, where they overlap? or do all the beats the hero experiences need to happen through the one true hero's perspective?

Thank you for this vedio❤️. Also I am very much confused about language in Multi pov. Would it be bad if some of the lines and cursing among some characters are same ? I mean it should not look like you are reading same character but at different place

I read about on your blog, very useful❤️ It definitely is a challenge juggling multiple beat sheets but nothing comes easy I guess😂
