Leili and Majnun by Kasian Goleizovsky

Natalia Bessmertnova rehearses two duets from the ballet Leili and Majnun (choreographed by Goleizovsky on the music by Sergei Balasanyan). The partners are Mikhail Lavrovsky and Vladimir Vasiliev( c. 1964). The voice in the comments belongs to Kasian Goleizovsky himself.

BOTH vasiliev and lavrovsky are my favourite bolchoi alpha males .l miss so much that kind of dancers

When Grigorovich became Artistic Director of the Bolshoi, he eliminated almost all of Goleizovsky's ballets, including this gem, "Leili & Mejnun". This ballet was a special showcase for Vladimir Vasiliev's unique gifts both artistically and technically.

+Melissa King both vasiliev and lavrovsky were marvelous dancers l was so lucky having seen them live many times ,expecially vasiliev and later never saw again maledancers of that calibre
