❓FONDANT OR GUM PASTE?
I use BOTH for very different reasons.
Fondant (or Sugar Paste) is used to cover a cake.
Gum Paste (or Modeling Paste) is used to create cake decorations.

I am making a 8” cake what size star and circles will I need if you don’t mind me asking?

I'm sorry - I'm really not too sure what size to recommend. But I can say when I make this, I use my circle cutters from my set. I start with the largest and go to the second ring from there, and use that as the next size. That at least, gives me a good size on the colored rings
