Loved it
Like some, I grew up with rock and roll. I didn't find the Blues until my late 20s. I really appreciate your teaching style as I've just picked up the guitar again after 25 years. Your approach is inspirational to an old coot like me.
Thanks, friend. 🙏 www.yourguitarsage.com/30
Thanks dude,
You know the drill; I learned from a friend, who's gone now. He could show me, but not explain why.
I bought books, learned to read music, worked on theory. Practice, practice....
I Got bogged down with life; guitar just slipped away.
I hit a frustrating, boring plateau; hit the brick wall. It was not fun, like all the "Learn guitar in 5 minutes secrets, yada, yada promised."
Then, I discovered your addictive enthuasim. You just ooze guitar excellingl excitement.
When the dough permits, I'm looking foward to diving all in - can't wait. Thanks again, God Bless!
This is the kindest comment Richard! Thank you 🙏
I totally agree I couldn’t have said it better, I was bored and bogged down to until I found these videos, excellent. Thanks so much for the videos much appreciated
Thank you. Love the blues to and I try to learn the guitar now when I’m over 50...... it is very fun. Regards from a Swedish blues and Rock fan.
I use these 3 positions and extend from position 2 to 3 much more Than position 1....I perform regularly, Mostly 50s and Smooth Jazz. For older audience's.☺👌
Thank's Bro...you're a good teacher. Thank you for being out here.🎸🎼🎵🎵
As a harp player, these guitar tutorials lend them selves guite deliciously to practicing blues harmonica scales. Thank you.
Fantastic! Thank you Mr. Spanky2001
Thank you, Eric. You rock 🎸. God bless you 🙏
🙏
Very good video, especially for a 61 year young "beginner", thanks
Ditto.
WOW, game changer - not sure why I got this but it changed my whole guitar game, I actually sound like a guitar blues player now when I'm not really that good :)
Learning guitar right now, coming from bass, came from saxophone to bass. I remembered a scale from a song we played in band, it was C, E, F, F#,G,Bb,C. It was always fun to play and I played it on bass up and down with variations, but always starting from C. It sparked blues for me. What you taught was that scale in finger/fret form and it finally clicked for me!
I enjoyed that ! What a Spiffing instrument ! Lovely piece O'kit.
Thanks dude.
I recently discovered you after a long hiatus of stuff that got in the way.
Originnaly, I learned from a friend, whose gone now. He could show me, but not explain why.
I delved into theory, music reading, and lots of practice.
The,n I hit a frustraitng, boring plateau. You know the routine - couple of ok sounds; hit the prover brick wall.
Struggled, bought books, internet, etc.
Then YOU came along with your addictive enthusiam. When the dough permits, I'm diving in full bore! Thanks again, and, God bless.
Thank you Richard!🙌
Some real helpful little gems here, thanks Erich, I know this is The Blues, but you Rock!

I love that Little Sister Guitar. Great lesson too.
Thank you my friend 🙌
Ok so I’ve been singing and playing chords for years, but been wanting to “play blues” rather than ANYTHING🙏 so listening to all the wonderful, generous guys out there who teach (love them all!😍), but YOU are playing exactly what I want to play! So Im gonna play this video and practice for the rest of my life 🥴, and thanks 😘 for your perfect description! Sometimes, a student is just at the right place fir the right information! 🎸👍🤪
LOVE that, Sally! Pls join me this Tuesday at noon(CDT) for a live broadcast and I will answer any questions you have.
Watching this has lifted me out of the biggest and deepest playing rut ever - Thank you
Thank you my friend 🙌
Excellent lesson dear sir
Thanks, Ive been playing for a long time and discovered something simple from this video that I had never thought of before. Many thanks.
Heyho Erich. Thank you so much for your time and your easy to follow teaching style. I have learned so much from watching your videos. A year ago the family doubted if this old retired Navy vet could even learn how to play an electric guitar let alone jam over backing tracks. Now they actually ask me to play stuff for them and that my friend is pretty much down to you. Happy Days.
I like your guitar style. Very melodic blues!
Fantastic to the point tutorial!
Glad it was helpful!🙏
Thanks Erich!
Nice B&G. Might start keeping an eye out for one.

Thanks so much for doing these lessons. I've been stumbling around in the dark musically, and your tips and explanations have helped out a ton. Plus the commentary is always entertaining, and damn if the playing isn't awesome! I just think it's super cool that you share your time and knowledge like that. Thank you so much!

Thanks dude I've gone thru a few UA-cam vids looking for help with this kinda thing trying to break away from major/minor scaly solos n gonna start on this now got so bored of riffs sounding too similar wow I've been playing 20 odd years now n only just realising I'm actually a beginner 😶 thanks again🤘
Thank you John 🙌
Thank you for sharing this video my friend. I had the structure but
not in this format. I can implement
this info Gooder...now...that's a Florida Native term.😎👍👍
That's going to help simplify my
Giving. 🎸🎼🎵🎵🎵
You do have a passion for teaching and also playing 1-3 licks that box at 3rd fret has some neat notes to start that Am pentatonic scale. I drop down there when I want to add some bass notes to my solo and of course it's just the 1-4 on fret 5 same notes. I walk 3rd fret all way up to where your last box ends with one cascade up or down. You do a great job explaining and I'm always watching you. It's all cookie cutter is what is so neat. That scale at 12th in Am I call it me A lay down scales as root is in the A like back at the 2nd fret. I'm always looking for root in chords and I know the scale it right there. I can't find good lesson on arpeggio shapes that don't follow the chord but instead go more linear up neck.
Hey friend. Knowing a little bit of theory will make you independent of needing those patterns. With a tiny bit of math, it REALLY easy. My free course has some basic theory that EVERYone should know. www.yourguitarsage.com/30
Great guitar .luv the size
Sweet guitar, love the pickup covers!! Reminds me of the Gibson ES Les Paul Special, with the flat top and dotted inlays. Very understated. Thanks for the lesson.
Thanks you so much David! 🙏
Thanks for another great lesson Erich!!
Thanks!
Awesome as always ! Mr Erich 🤗
🙏
Eric thank you .Informative, well explained.God bless
Thank you 🙏
Great video, but how do you get to the 12 fret A position from the second extension on the 3rd, 2nd and 1st strings. Thank you.
This was great, wish you could do something similar for rockabilly style. Thanks
👍
Erich, Great lesson. Tell me what guitar that you are playing in this lesson? Thanks jeff
Love it...will give it a go... I tend to use an eclectic mix of shapes patterns that I can remember and that work...but if I'm honest I couldn't tell you what they are!! But I move them around the fret board and it seems to work....
Yes, over my head doesn't look like the blues scale patterns I am learning right now, so that just means I ain't there yet :)
Ive seen a bunch of videos about this. I've even seen a couple of your vids where you referenced this and i just finally had my "AHA" moment. Thanks man. Show us all Little Bluebird by Little Milton bro. 🙏
