After working on fire trucks all day and driving my 73 D100 short bed home I get to watch you work on yours . It makes me feel better from a long day of hard work. Thanks Joe.
That's awesome! Thanks for the support!
Hey Joe,
Tim here, ya know, i enjoy watchin u do this ALONE!!.....thats how ive don MOST of my stuff.......i help EVERYBODY, but when its my turn, NOBODY'S around, so i've learned how to just do it myself......i DEEPLY appreciate your toil.......u'll get 'er!!!......motors, trannys, exhaust, seats, etc, nobody's around.....did it myself.....yep....mite have more cussin, but i get it done!!
In 99% of my auto repair and hot rod work has been by my self. Doing a new steering gear (original) style, right now with headers on a 67 Barracuda. Sure would be easier with a little help. 😄
Thanks Tim! It’s how it goes sometimes, But you gotta make your own luck!
@@Comet-hn3gm yea, but if ur like us (which it sounds like) you'll get it strait, regardless!!!
Enjoying this series! This truck should be a blast to drive!
I think I summoned you with my shirt!
Can't wail to hear the big block rumble!
You and me both!
Big block Tin Grille for the WIN. 🚦🏁
I think you may be on to something!
I really like this truck. Great job on bringing it back to glory. Can’t wait to see it go down the track!
Thanks buddy! I’ll take you for a spin
@@JustMoparJoe - Now I want a truck!!
Yup...D100 looks great with a motor installed... can't wait to see more...good content and thanks....🔧🔧👍
Thanks brother!
Enjoying watching this take shape Joe!
Keep it up 👍🏻
Thanks Buddy! Cheers!
The 406 looks great Joe, looks even better setting in the truck.
This is going to be an awesome drag truck.
Mopars to the front.👍👍
Have a good evening. 👍
@@edsmachine93 thanks Ed! Mopars to the front!
Looks clean and simple. Money says it’s going to rip 👍 Good looking job !
Thanks Tim!
I really dig that truck! It's gonna be awesome!
@@BigMikesHooptyBarn thanks Big Mike!
Its turning into a very fine truck! Can't wait to hear it run.
Thanks Josh! You and me both!
Oh boy!! This is going to be good!!
Thanks Terry! Stay cool out there!
Good job there joe. Wish I lived closer so I could slip by and help.
I would have used it for that header!
Love this truck man well done
Thank you! Hopefully can surprise some people
Looks good sitting in there. You have my old jealousy bone itching like crazy. Good show.
Thanks Ron!
Looking good!
Thanks John
So much power!! So spicy
It’ll be a fun one!
Go Just-cold-sandwich-Joe! That blue color is always a favorite of mine, and that orange looks great in there!
Thanks Tim! Getting very close to party time
It just seems like yesterday it was a little baby slant and now it's all growing up.
Haha! You reached in and yanked it out
Cool we'll be waiting. 😊
Thanks brother!
Making progress and looking great!👍
Yes! Thank you!
Good job, Joe. Gotta love those headers, man!
Thanks brother!
Sweet truck!
Thanks Buddy! Should be a runner
Happy birthday brother, love the truck man, she should get down big time 👍👍👍👍👍✅✅✅✅✅
I think so too! 🫡
Happy Birthday Joe! Love the videos!
Thank you, Larry!
Will grip like it’s on ice !
Will see how the bars work!
Nice detail work on the motor . Hope the back end doesn’t come around to bit you . Good effort Joe on your truck . 👍🏻🇦🇺.
Thanks brother! Have a good weekend
It’s going to be a cool sleeper…👌
Absolutely! It may just run this week!
The only way headers just fit is...well, never. 😂
But like always, you made 'em work! Almost time for big block noises!
Thanks Terry. Yea I would have just pulled it and dented the tubes a little, but I only had my lunch break to work on it 😝
This guy is real mopar. Other guys on here are just parts changer, an fyi to parts changer guys no ones cares about junk yard build 318s.
Haha! Thanks
There's nothing wrong with the notch! One of my oldest friends (72 yoa) says, "I have a torch & a welder. It WILL fit."
Thanks Brother Brad! I could have dented the tubes, but couldn’t quite get my hammer and chisel in place 😂
There's that bada$$ mystery 727 again. 😅
Haha! With the lightening holes and TCI full
Manual reverse pattern valve body
Big blocks are made for everything but I can't afford to drink one everyday.
@@johnelliott7375 🤣
Ok this will be a new comment about the same thing lol. Wish I was the mailman stopping by around lunchtime just to learn a few things. Get in the way and hangout with a mopar joe!
Haha! My mail lady does drive a Mopar and does honk!
Good man running that Wix 51515 oil filter.
Wix for the win!
It always looks like there’s just so much room for everything…….until you try to put headers on! 🤣 I had a 79 that was a dang war trying to get them in there and not touching anything else!
I swear! The truck shrinks!
Dam Joe!!!! You have some patience!! Lunch break. Yeah. How many days of lunch break? lol
Haha! Thanks Buddy. I’m used to the big block in the A body. This one went so easy compared to that
Lunch Break!!
🍟
Closer to taking the cake!
Damn, that was one great lunchbreak - hope your sandwich wasn’t cold
It was peanut butter! I was safe 😂
Yeah it seems like those headers are definitely designed for fitment with a 440. And it doesnt look like "massaging" a couple tubes will solve the problem. I know you notched the frame and all for yours and if it works it works! Its all looking good sitting in there for sure. Im not sure what would look best in there, the mopar blue of the typical blocks they put in or the HP orange. Nonetheless, nothing quite has the feel of a D100 with a big block. Can't wait to see her shaking and trembling at idle!
I would think of the 20 pairs of headers I’ve ever installed, these were some of the easiest. I would absolutely buy them again. It’s really hard to find a set that slips in and doesn’t get close to something. Especially as companies try to make them fit 30 years of trucks with one set lol
🤙
Thanks brother! Just an old farm truck
I gave you a carb opening cover for times like this.....
Yes! I needed one for each place 😂
That wzs quick your right it dose look small in that engine bay should go real nice
Thanks Grand
I don't get as much done on my lunch hour as you.
Haha! This was only 45!
Dying to see how the Chinese headers work well done
Thanks Jeff. It’s looking good so far
@@JustMoparJoe good for you Joe you make it all look easy wish you were here in Canada I would be giving you money for your work mind you I have a friend that knows mopars prob better than most in Canada but at 70 he’s limited on what he does he’s pretty good with me semi retired but he will still help me out a little if I need work and I need work right now now lol keep up the good videos Joe have a great day
@@JeffLeblanc-xb7qe thanks Jeff! You too
Looking good Joe. I’m surprised you didn’t point out that there’s two sets of holes in the cross member, one for SB and one for BB. Ask me how I know?
@@JonnyMopar and this one even had an old slant 6 in it. Do you know which holes share with the slant? I have no idea 😂
@@JustMoparJoe I do not. Lol.
I would have lent you my frame stretcher if I lived close at hand and saved you the trouble of torching your frame. LOL Can't wait to hear it rumble and see it run down the strip, hurry up will ya!
Haha! Thanks brother
Awsume Builds,.......Mopar Joe,....I appreciate Thy Awsume projects,....just wanted to inquire about your 1972 D100 brake master,....was that a Booster Deliete

Well your way ahead of me 😂 my d100 got put on hold for other paying jobs do to boat season. However every river and lakes are flooded bad here. Paychecks are a good thing these days. Now I have to say the old girl is looking good. The headers. Are they b body ones because I want to run a set I have that are big port hooker headers and wondered if they will fit. So advise me on that.
These headers are made for a truck or ramcharger. I found them on eBay for 180$ shipped! I have a friend who tried my b body hookers on his truck and they were wrong in most places.
Nice job, Joe!
I was wondering how those headers would fit. Hard to tell from the view whether they'd hit more or less with my 440 than your B Engine. What do you think?
I may have to try the Hedmans 79250, or Flowtech 13504 instead.
If any viewers know from their own experience that one or the other (or another header) fits a 440 in these trucks without notching the frame, please speak up.
@@TDMP-ThemDamnMoparPeopleTy thanks buddy. There was loads of room on the driver side. I think they’re back on eBay for $160 now.
I have been watching for about 2 months now . Been back tracking on other vids ..I had a 1987 ramcharger 4x4 project that I had to sell ..I read an article from engine masters about a 400 hp reciepe using Keith black hyper pistons, o40 bore, indy 360 iron heads on the 318, now 324ci..mopar performance flat t lifters..as mentioned i sold the truck but keep keeped the parts...what are toy thoughts, harland sharp ,and hughs were goining to be the other purchases...do you thing the 324 could do 400 hp??? Keep on busting knuckles joe❤ the info.
Thanks Ronald! I think a 318 can do it. But I’d think it needs good compression and good headflow. Everything matched correctly and it should be a screamer
I know this question is out in left field. You’re running a hydraulic roller cam with solid roller lifters in the 406. What spring pressure are you running. I have plans to do the same. Thanks in advance for any info.
Not a problem! I had to go look it up. One benefit is that you can run less spring pressure than a solid roller since the ramps are easier. Mine are 150 pounds closed and 418 pounds at .570 lift. I would consider that more than a standard hydraulic roller. I was talking to Ed at Ed’s machine today and he verified: Mopars don’t have to run as much spring pressure as other engines because of the superior shaft mounted rockers and their stability
@@JustMoparJoe Cool, my springs are 140 lbs closed, 430 lbs open. I should be ok 🤞. Thank you again.
@@Duster_Garage yea man! Give it a try! Much better on the valve train than the 550+ pressures
JMJ could give so info on the fan please thanks

@JustMoparJoe Thanks so much love the work you do keep it up.
Stainless isn't supposed to rust?
If you take care of it 😂
Do you think the frame will have to be trimmed in my truck with those headers on a 440?😅
It’s hard to say. You can always dent the tubes a little. That’s common practice for about any header.
@@JustMoparJoe I looked at my frame and it looks like stevie wonder went at it with a torch.🤣🤣🤣 Maybe it'll be enough.
I need a glove box door for my 78! Does anybody have one that's not all cracked up?
