  • Hello there,
this is a short DIY tutorial on how to replace a faulty windshield washer pump on BMW. The car I am working on is the E60 from 2010, but it will be verry similar on other models.
It is an easy job that takes about an hour.
    You will need:
    - a way to safely jack up the car (front left corner is enough)
    - 8mm socket
    - new pump
    - ideally a torque wrench for the lug bolts
Please note - I am not a professional mechanic. Although, I pay utmost attention to provide relevant and precise information, I take no responsibility for any damage or injury you may cause by following this video. Please, be super careful whenever you work under the car.
Take care and let me know what you think in the comments.

    Great Job!!
You can do it without removing the tire with a good 90 power ratchet.. one other thing worth noting is that there is actually a white filter at the base of the pump.. it may come out with the pump .. if so you may need to use it in your aftermarket pump.. as well as the 90degree elbow to the rubber water line.

Did you need to reset the Check Engine Light?

No. Do not need to reset anything. It should reset automatically.

@@braziliancoffee1533 There was no light for this pump. Only low washer fluid level warning, which dissapears when you top it up.

My 2008 failed Inspection. The Check Engine light came on when my pump stopped working. Will the Check Engine light disappear after the pump is replaced?

I had no check engine light in this case. Only warning for low washer fluid level, which goes away after a top up.

Whatever you do, NEVER mention which BMW model this is....leave everyone guessing
