It used to grieve me so much to know more about some singers or the music when the person pass off. So hear the next step me want you fi take, make a patron page and give a history to and a snippets of the catalogue and if you earn enough pursue some of the entertainers even if dem deh a Timbuktu on a weekend or even when you get the liitle holiday. Carl Dawkins is a musical genius I can confess to that and everything he said in this interview is genuine. It is sad that the producers back then were only thinking for themselves and personal wealth gain. Veterans should not be having it hard in a time like this, where their music is the reason for Jamaicas valuable economy.
I remember Carl and his younger brother Delton. Delton captained the K.C manning cup team and it was a sad day in 2000 when Carl told me that he had passed on. Carl Dawkins possibly the best stage performer in Jamaica's history
These prolific artiste suffer really bad financially, they didn't benefit from their intellectual property whether it's through negligence on their part or skulduggery. It's not right!!😕
Love this interview,teach you going deep,when you find this man, he's an incomparable performer, clearly in some ways a trouble maker, regardless of him saying,(him never trouble anyone first),but clearly he was not always compensated for his music and performance,an extraordinary voice especially on the satisfaction tune,big up teach.
The music industry is so corrupt. Teach dem your program open up so many people eyes, most of the artist in those days was illiterate, they just use them and live big . Mi like Carl him tell them straight, yuh see why wickedness caan done. I love his song picture on the wall my baby father died 33 yrs now and his picture still hangs on the wall, and I always sing this song. All these singers end up take drugs and them set the trend and others inherit, just because of illiteracy. I sorry him never Murdaaaa some a them, him woulda come from prison by now. I remember the Rodney incident, he was declared Persona Non Grata by the Hugh Shearer government. Rodney was not Canadian, he was a Guyanese national.

Big Man, Digo, I remember he used to play football with us youths at race course with allman town minor league team, coached by Gabby. Went to school with his younger brother Delton also.
