DO CLEW MAKE BINDINGS MAKE THEM IN KIDS BECAUSE i WANT STEP IN
I ride Step Ons, the best Snowboard bindings. I also ride Burton Boards and wear Burton Clothing.
do they make kids step in bindings?
@@PeterSacco-b3i same
Just as a reminder for Northern Americans: in Europe we don't have in/out of bounds for avalanche safety. Everything off the marked slopes/routes is your own responsibility and you're supposed to understand the avalanche risk level and have your own avalanche gear with you. Seeing them riding powder without any gear is irresponsible and can cause huge risks up to death. Ride powder but be smart! You want to enjoy your drinks after riding with your friends and not lay in a coffin (if they can find you)...
Yes. As cool as this video was, it was not poweder "hunting." It was powder abuse. There's a reason there's so many untracked lines on those faces--the avy danger was probably moderate or more that day on those aspects
As a very long time skier, who tired snowboarding once and didn't care for it, i thoroughly enjoy your videos. Quality filming, editing and how you bring everything together. Well done, Johnathan.
Thank you! This means a lot because it has taken years to make a video as smooth as this one. That complement means more than a riding one 😂
Nice video guys. It’s funny when civilised people from North America see how we do lift lines/mosh pits in Europe 😂… as for riding the most extreme ‘runs’ the way it works in Europe is the really gnarly lines (like your black diamond shoots) are not listed on the trail maps, you need to buy a local ‘off piste’ guide book, (and some avi gear) or take a look at the fat maps app. Then you’ll find what you are looking for! Enjoying 😊
Fatmaps is gone for good though.
Wasn't able to find a remotely proper replacement yet, deleted most apps right away after a brief look because they really sckd mad bags of Richard.
If there's any viable ones, I mean really viable, I'd really appreciate the input.
Just so you know, those are 67% grade, not 67º pitch. Very very different. Still cool though!
1:03 Yep, sign clearly shows 67%, which is a rise of 2 over a run of 3, about 34°. Still plenty steep.
Oh 😂
100% is 45 degree, not a cliff for basejumping. some black pistes in europe are 70 degree. if u fall, u go all way down to the end more or less alive ( powder or packed)and your chances to get back on the board are very slim, the harder the snow is.
Right. 67 degrees would be controlled fall skiing / boarding where it's not even possible to stop.
@@superconductives88 no, 67 degrees is not even that, there wouldn't even be snow anymore, it couldn't stick!
Music has been on point this season with videos - things are feeling really well done this year!
Thank you 🙏🏼🙏🏼 Means so much!
Europe ski resorts are insane! Look like a real good time.
Favorite resort day ever!
And no ski patrol bullshit. Freedom is here, in Europe😊
@@ANETOKILLE especially the no ski-patrol bs is BIG! Patrol is there for general emergency and out-of-bounds safety stuff, not policing people who just try to have a good time
@@Real_MisterSir
What exactly do they do in the US?
It’s a whole new world of skiing over there!! So sick!
It is 😅
Best thing is that it's still affordable compared to the US
Bro, that sequence from 12:06 was beautiful. Thanks for the rear/POV shots too. That's the kind of serene riding I love, been really missing the mountains lately. Love being able to see them from 3rd person POV.
Wow, very impressive skills, I wanted to begin with snowboarding, I searched it up on UA-cam and found this video.Good editing, good music and very good riding.I can clearly see how much time this took you, let no one stop, you‘re doing just great❤.
Duuuude - at 12:15 - soooo sick. Alaska style!
Dude another dream day!
This has been such an amazing day of the tour 🤩 our personal highlight
The best day of my life 🙌🏼😂
Literally was at montafon lask week. First time ever on a mountain and first time snowboarding after binching your videos and hyping myself up for three months. So funny that i coud've ran into you guys
That is funny! Stoked you got to go and had a blast!
Welcome to Europe baby, welcome to Switzerland 🇨🇭! We are glad you have a great time!
I went to LAAX! Todays video.
😂 it's not in Switzerland... This is Austria. Switzerland (Canton Graubünden) is 2 mountain peaks behind all that.
Go there every winter, just found this video made me really happy. This year the snow conditions were great (R2/R3) other ones I sadly wasn’t able to ride! Great video, makes me happy seeing someone ride where I ride!
I bought my CLEW's this year and i'm so happy with them , the systhem works really well and i love the fact that you can use them with any boot ... they are really great
Man, what an awesome experience. I know there is still a lot of debate about step ons. I just recently made the switch. I did not purchase CLEW's, although I do like the design. I went with the Burton Genesis Step ons, mostly because it's a brand I'm familiar with. But, If I get an opportunity to ride a set of CLEW's, I'm definitely gonna try them. I'd like to compare the differences. I was a bit hesitant to make the switch to step ons, but now that I have, I really don't want to go back to traditional straps. it's so nice! I appreciate your contribution to the snowboarding community and how cool that CLEW is giving you this opportunity, truly amazing!.
20min Buckhouse video, heck yeah!
Yes 😂
Another amazing day for the Europe trip! Looks like you had an amazing time at an amazing resort with TOP TIER views from the mountain. Glad you're having a great time!
This is a top 3 days I have ever had snowboarding!
@@JohnathanBuckhouse that’s amazing to hear, looked so fun!
Fun day. Will never forget
Never!
Looks so gnarly. Hope you had a lot of fun.
Way too much fun!
Damn that powder looks amazing not to mention the view!!!!
Right!!!
Its so fun to finally see you ride all the runs that I usually ride
Yes! I am stoked you get to see that 🙌🏼
This has got to be one of the sickest looking resorts I’ve ever seen! Those big mountain lines and ridge lines look WILD
Dude favorite place I have ever been
@@JohnathanBuckhouse that’s a bold claim! But I can definitely see why!
I live in that area and that is pretty much the average view here. I climbed one of the higher mountains in hat area in the summer and you can see like 60 km in one direction providing there is no fog which there wasnt. This is normal for west austria
No way!!! This is my home mountain! If you here again let me know, 🍻🍻
plattekill is my home mountain. Hope to see you soon
Have to admit Jonathon I'm jealous. You got a kush gig dude! Don't ever let it become just a job because there's lots in line waiting to be the next you. Your vids rock and thanks for helping me at age 58 become a better boarder bro,..Peace out!
Amazing video! Love it!! Keep up the good work
That is a crazy view
So insane!
Great riding, views and all! Love that you keep it real!
But gheeeeez, the best thing of this video was definitely the freakin’ Germknödel with vanilla and möhn!!!🤤🤤🤤 🤣😜
Happy shreddin’ 🤘🏼
It was so good 🤣😂🤣
@@JohnathanBuckhouse It's all frozen food 😜 just saying. If you want real, decent, freshly made Germknödel you gotta go to a restaurant in Gaschurn, Partenen or Schruns.
Not blaming them tho. It's a lot of work to make them.
But compared to other resorts, their prices are just off the roof and good luck finding a spot during weekends or holiday times.
The Brunella Wirt on Garfrescha is different tho. Also they are not from Silvretta Montafon. They work by themselves.
Silvretta Motafon is a skiing resort worth visiting. But it is hardly the most extreme terrain in Europe, even not in Austria.
Terrific video Johnathan, that snow looked in good condition.
Thank you 🙏🏼
Love ur videos bro, and im so happy to see that your channel is growing so much, just keep doing you and putting out amazing videos and itll only keep skyrocketing
and i really did enjoy this video
Looks like you landed on some good snow conditions. More ethan often such Alps steeps are very hard pack/icy & a nightmare on a board.
that looks like an incredibly fun day!
Insane day!
Whoop whoop!
🙌🏼
I think you'd love the french and swiss alps cause they are way more focused on freeriding and the possibilities are endless over there
just got back from my first switz trip, it was EPIC!! got lucky with a bluebird pow day and yeah the views of Zermatt were insane.
Japow next season????
Europe for the views and the parties
Japow for the pow and the food
I didn't even notice the (clean) cuts until others pointed it out. That says something about quality for sure!
might be a dumb question but, how do you know the areas you are skiing off-piste are safe? Like that there isn't a cliff over the crest or a huge rock under the snow?
You don’t 😅 You trust your skills and except the risk.
i really hope you guys had avalanche gear with you@@JohnathanBuckhouse
Fun video. But on a serious note you spend a lot of time off piste, with no back pack, so no shovel or probe am guessinng, were you wearing a transceiver? I know you'll be used to the North American inbounds system, still important to stay as safe as possible!
Was going to say something similar. Yeah it’s great having no rules / boundaries but none of the off piste is guaranteed safe. I’ve been on resort when people have been killed by a slide 10m from a groomed slope before.
We brought our beacons. Didn’t bring the other stuff but also didn’t go into serious avalanche terrain till the last two runs with our guide, who was already playing in the zone all day. We also knew at that point of the day how the snow pack was reacting so those last two runs were risks we were willing to take. Your point is super valid and if Ski doc and I didn’t spend a lot of time in the backcountry we wouldn’t of went out of bounds 🤙🏼
@@JohnathanBuckhouse Dude, just bringing your beacon is useless if your buddy gets buried. You're not going to dig him out with your board. Please bring your pack, shovel and probe if you go off piste in Europe, especially if you already spent a lot of time in the backcountry and know what can happen. Also prevents comments from old farts like me. And I know, most of the time nothing happens, but seeing people without a pack riding more serious terrain irritates some people. Oh, and wearing that pack and explaining why makes you a good role model and maybe saves a life or two. You have a bit of responsibility here.
The national park in Val-d'Isère is even better - you should try it
looks so fun. i want to snowboard so bad
Really lovely video, well done.
Thank you!
67% is not 67°, it's about 30° wich is already risquy, 45° is 100%
when you are at the top of a 45° slope you see the slope at an angle of at least 135°, which is not far from an impression of verticality
looks like a random big european ski resort.....were the big lifts had heat seats or just the bubble?
Just bubbles
Your skill is what my friend says his is
That’s sick.
Glad you’ve experienced riding without rules & ski patrol! I’ve never been to the US but we have it so good over here, I don’t want to 😂
It’s soooooo good! It was the most fun I have ever had at a ski resort 😂
Just a few kilometers away there is a resort called "mellau damüls" with a ride that has 73% drop if you want something more insane
I would love to try clew bindings, but they are too expensive for me. Mayebe in a few years and I cant wait to try them :)
sick dude!

Great music choice !
Thanks! 🙏🏼
What is it with yanks and not putting the safety bar down on chairlifts?
It’s not comfortable lol
Damn, I was boarding there on the same day but sadly I didn't meet you :( Still an awesome video and I hope you will come back again sometimes.
Oh next time!!!
You need to go to Silvretta Montafon next season i wish i could se you there i life near by but my arm is broken so i can not go boarding till next season😢

As someone from Vorarlberg and who worked as a slope patrol in this exact ski resort, I can't let this video title slide... 😜
"Riding doen Europe's most extreme terrain."
and putting "Silvretta Montafon" next to it is blasphemy on its peak.
Maybe for an outlander who isn't from Europe and doesn't know that many ski resorts here, it is the most extreme terrain... ;D
Or because the qualifier for the Open Faces is on the Madrisella.
Here some local views towards this ski resort. Hi, I am the former coordinator in the rescue center, sitting in the Grasjoch Freeride Center (which isn't a "Freeride Center" anymore). They just don't manage to take off the signs and change their ski-resort map..
Yee you can guess where this is going now ;P
Nope, I don't work there anymore, due to them being bullies in a negligent level. Spreading medical misinformation, enforcing their wrong opinions on you, and if you try to tell them this can seriously put a patient into life-threatening conditions (which exactly has happened before due to negligence in how to treat patients correctly, they resort in attacking you personally under the belt line. Quit your job for it without actual cancellation.
Lie to the work department so you will get locked and can't get money you pay taxes for since 10 years. Only all to sh... in your face for trying to help them out and not hurt patients unnecessarily due to their farmer-logic negligence.
All so far, that even the "Ärztekammer" (like Federal Medical Dpt.) got into this and I had to file reports against certain individuals for these reasons.
So, in Vorarlberg, this is not because of my experience, which is as bad as for many others.
Montafon is the most disliked ski resort due to how these people behave. And how much promotion they do online, what they charge for it, and what you actually get, compared to other ski resorts here...
To guests these people "put on a mask" obviously. It's company policy you sign to start work as usual. But between each other?
Lol, forget about that. You need to get down on their level and let yourself be treated like a primate. You are not from Montafon? Good, so whatever, you are guilty for it.. always get blamed on you.
Especially if you are the one in the rescue center and just try to give your best at your job. Which you did every day, since you are medically educated. And basically noone else is... A small first aid course does not count. And slope patrols in Austria need no course or anything to be allowed to do that job...
Not only that, it also resulted in unprofessional radio discipline for someone (me) who was a marksman in military before...
It's pure horror.... There is no discipline. They just talk like people who never used a radio before.
So in Vorarlberg alone, if you really want a decent selection of Freeride faces, you go to St. Anton Warth.
There is no debate about that. Montafon only promotes themselves like THE Freeride thing in Europe because if the Open Faces qualifier.... And France and Switzerland are cringing away in a dark corner...
Take Europe's (actual) biggest ski resort?
"Les 3 Vallées" in France? You pay less for a 6 day pass, no stupid "dynamic price model" for ticket prices.
You have WAY MORE in anything 😂
But hej, Montafon always had to sell themselves or noone would go there...
You saw Valisera cable car during weekend? xD crowd managment does not exist.
I could tell you WAY more reasons why you should definitely go to St. Anton, Warth or Lech. Especially if you wanna ride rly nice faces.
You can find extreme couloirs in most areas if the snow conditions are right.
Or even better, go to Tyrol? Fiss-Serfaus, Ischgl, Stubai...
There are so many more proper ski resorts. And make it up, Montafon built new lifts, made online promo for crappy events and have made prices higher.
I am a former event engineer and their managment is...... Smart enough to put a 6-8000W sound system for around 5-6000? people.... I mean....
They simplt do not catch up what any other resort I know here manages to do.
This includes, keep their ski-map, information and all up to date and actually do it....
Or maybe treate seasonal workers nice and learn English. Not blame it on them if they can't understand it when Montafon just doesn't do what they teach them. And then wonder why they can't understand it.
Or talk dialect while they are already in a German course and get pissed when they need to actually talk German to them. As if they are guilty for it they get hired, try to learn our language and these bigots think it's bad... Like what they want else???
Not all are like this fortunately.
But it is overshadowing the good things by far.
How would you feel? Come from Australia to Austria on a work permit. And wait 2 months after starting your job to get your contract finally after demanding multiple times?
Another example of many.
Have fun!
I think you don’t like montafon
Clew vs Burton …. Competition is always good for the consumer
💯 But there is only one clear winner 😉
As a Burton step on owner it’s impossible to get your feet locked in with any level of snowfall without digging it out. Packs under the boots bad.
Not to mention the anxiety you’re locked in good initially on a run.
😮
Bro
Everything on khuno is showing sold out right now 😭 I was trying to replace my goggles before season started
DOn't worry you can grab them on Amazon still! amzn.to/47unB3m
what did you mean when u said you can get the stickers for free. please reply thx.
You don't get them for free. The shipping is free. You don't have to pay extra for the delivery
What a title 😂
😂
does Europe use a different system of degrees? Because 67 wouldn't hold snow!
no I am dumb lol
Just so you know most of that terrain you're riding is not controlled by patrol.. may want to wear some avy gear
We were aware. We had beacons.
@@JohnathanBuckhouse Beacons don't double as great shovels, airbags or probes. nice vid though.
@@JohnathanBuckhouse You had beacons... You think you can shovel your friends out of 3 meter of snow with beacons? This is why several Americans died in Europe riding powder... Sad.
"landing is soft" :)
I belive that this is insane how is he good at evrithing park powder steep you name it but i Think this is not Human this is crazy
What up gang?!
Yoooo!
They are pistes, not runs.
Pistes are groomed every night, so “I wonder if the others will be groomed” is a meaningless question.
On this video we saw American snowboarders:
Sliding down one of the scorpion pistes face first.
Riding through a tunnel hooting and hollering.
Riding off piste in area with a bunch of snow fences and jumping onto and off of one.
Riding a chair lift without lowering the safety bar.
You are correct, there are no rules about riding off piste. However, these areas are not avalanched controlled nor are they patrolled. If you get hurt and need medical assistance, European mountain rescue is the best in the world but you will be charged for these services.
Hi
Hello
who is watching this in the summer?

Idk it doesn’t look that bad 😅
It’s so fun!
its so cringe when u keep the bar up.. and u are in europe now buddy :D
It only happened by accident lol
Europe’s most extreme terrain. Holy fuck that is funny.
dude hasn't hit the sweet spot on a park kicker all trip :')
Because we are only doing 3 runs through the park 😂 I am falling off rails early too 🤣 also it has snowed everyday so speed has been inconsistent lol But say whatever you want I road the sickest pow 😍
first
🤙🏼
😂
its so weard americans are so safety fixed, but never put douwn safty bars in the skilift !! ...LOL !!
If it was up to me I wouldn’t have all the other American safety laws too 😂
sorry but we care about our safty so put the bar down
How much are they paying you? And why aren't any real respected pros riding these?
How’d you get that shot on the chairlift??? 🔥🔥🔥🥶🥶🥶
stop freeriding without backcountry gear and knowledge 🫤
It’s not backcountry they’re labeled trails
@@StasFPV Late but no. His off-piste runs in the later half of the video, riding pow are not labeled trails. They are literally out of bounds freeriding, with no avalanche gear except a beacon that will not help much if both get buried. In europe anything that isnt groomed or specifically labeled as an "ungroomed" piste is considered out of bounds. There is no avalanche mitigation done in europe for these areas and while the alps' ski rescue teams are the best in the world you will be paying quite a hefty sum for them if they ever need to rescue you.
Get your safety gear, including handshovel, beacon and other avalanche gear if you go off-piste in europe, you will need it.
Where is this?
