the that the umibozu/the wraiths being a former human makes there story really really sad just imagin being the only human being left in the world your body being heavily mutated beyond reconizing it as human and then you find this strange creature that reminds you of a human you probably want to keep it to not be alone anymore
Does the pikmin community just don't know that fruit comes grows on plants? Also after for example apples are ripe they fall from the apple tree. As for how they got to where they are in the games there is a possibility that we are actually raiding some random creatures food storage.
@esciesop2721 adding to that, there is fruit that still have labels on them. The only explanation I can think of is the nuclear radiation making the fruit not spoil.
@@esciesYou see, I think the reason for that is because it’s a video game. And having funny piece of ham is a lot cooler than modeling out a rancid rotting piece of meat
My theory is the the Oxygen levels of Earth decresed rapidly through some cause, and it made all the creatures evolve into forms that consume less oxygen, either in the way of being small, fusing with plants, or both. I believe that the Pikmin are what's left of humans, and the reason they listen to the captains is because they look somewhat human
You should not overlook a specific detail shown in the Prologue: Olimar has crashed there and his ship is destroyed...but the way he talks about the Pikmin seems to be closer to how when he FIRST DISCOVERED THEM. It might just be me, but this feels like a retcon, an alternate timeline for everything we've known. This would explain how things seem to have been "reset" to a time shortly after the humans disappearance/perishing. Almost like they vanished in a flash. To be honest, I am not sure if they even remember all the "original" story beats they hinted at in the first few Pikmin games and wanted a clean start. Either way, I am hyped for the game and the Umibozu theory still holds a very special place in my fanon heart.
First of all, if all the treasures are just pieces of the "umibozu" than why would the captains still be able to turn it into juice? Though the glitter wraith could change its chemical composition(as used in its attacks during its fight) doesn't mean it could maintain the shapes forever, plus each extension of itself needed that weird cube to control it(which could have also been in the enemies but smaller), otherwise it would collapse back into a golden droplet. Not to mention if it could control its chemical composition and reaction, than it would likely not be able to be juiced in the first place. Also what says those fruits arn't naturally grown and dropped off its original plant(even if the growth seasons are totally off)? Second, how would a radioactive somehow sentient goo learn everything about the human race? The house is awefully well maintained for a timeline without people, and there is likely something going on with it relative to the plot, but i doupt the wraith could take the shape of, and maintain the shape of AN ENTIRE HOUSE Third, just because the wraith discuised itself as a bunch of enemies doesn't mean that EVERYTHING can be the wraith. Pikmin 4 introduces the raw material mechanic, which i highly doupt would be a extension of the wraith if the captains can turn it into whatever they want, including clay. And lastly, i'd rather this theory be wrong because if everything pikmin was just "ha ha just kidding its all made of goo" i think it would make pikmin a lot less interesting.
I dont think the video means that everything is made of wraith goo, i think its that the umibozu/last human set up the planet to be like how it remembers humanity using the materials available (hence the lack of goo-ness and the perfect condition of the house) and it put fruit and treasure everywhere to attract people

In Olimar’s notes, he mentions how he had a dream that his company went into debt, but says that it never happened before. This suggests the event of pikmin 2 didn’t happen.. yet. Finally, you encounter Koppaits later on that mention how their planet will soon go into a food crisis bc of the growing rate of people. This implies that the events of pikmin 3, AKA the main Koppaits (alph, brittany, and charlie) searching for food didn’t happen yet bc the planet wasn’t YET in crisis. The reason the house isn’t overgrown is because Pikmin 4 happens millions of years earlier. And the reason the continents become “Pangea” is because the captains have to travel light years to get to PNF 404 which messes with time. So, the final timeline is: Pikmin 1 “Bad Ending” reworked (Olimar’s Mission in Pik4) Pikmin 4 Pikmin 2 Pikmin 3

One thing we learn is that any creature with leafs on them like the dogs or pikmin, if they go far enough away from PNF-404 it becomes very dangerous to their health, meaning there is likely something on the planet that they can't go too far from.

After the house bit (that we saw in the demo) Olimar must have died, got put in the onion and turned into a leafling And maybe after a long time (or a short time, we don't know), something happened to Olimar that made him turn evil (possibly the umibozu). There aren't any rock or winged pikmin in Pikmin 1 and the Pikmin 3 gang found info files FROM Olimar ABOUT Rocks and Wings! Feel free to do what you want with this information.
unless the 3 from pikmin 3 show up in pikmin 4, im certain this game takes place in between 1 and 2. Olimar was nowhere near abandonded buildings in 1, then he crashes into a backyard, and flies into an intact building in 4, and he comes back to an abandoned earth in 2. He has to go in lightspeed to go back and forth from earth and his planet, which probably takes a couple million earth years to do. There were really no signs of humans in 1, so I believe that the pikmin 1 era was before, or really early humans, pikmin 4 would be during modern humans as we know them, and 2 would be after. The lack of caves in 1 would make sense too, cause most of the caves in 2 and 4 have many human-built features.
My theory is that the amebozu is the only creature in pikmin that actually interacts with earth, the rest, including olimar and the pikmin, are interacting with an alternate earth created by the amebozu, due to the water wraith's "true form existing in an alternate dimension". All the treasures and fruits and stuff are synthesized in convenient places so that the amebozu can study how the various captains solve puzzles. It's not malicious, otherwise you would never be able to leave at the end of the game, just curious.
Astronauts in space age a little bit slower than people on Earth due to time-dilation effects, but only by a minuscule amount due to the relativity of time, which depends on the speed and gravity of the observer
i think the umibozu makes everyone crash and kidnapped olimar and turned olimar into a leafling because it doesnt want anyone to escape the reason for it not wanting anyone to escape could be anything
Fun fact: if you got a physical copy of pikmin 1, you can find a bag of seeds in it. The seeds are from flowers that were genetically bred to be identical to the flowers on pikmin!
I really liked this theory and I feel that it explains quite a bit.. Also, what's the music that begins at 5:38 ? I really like it and can't find it at all
what if the human extinction was a chernobyl type thing? No atom bombs, but intstead a atomic accident that unleashed tons of raditation across the world, but not in a explosion.
I have a WILD theory to this, but I'll give it here. I think that the people that are here are on vacation, and it acts like a toy story scenario where things like enemies and pikmin come out to explore when humans aren't around. My idea is that the capitans arrive at this point, and thats where the game starts
Maybe Pikmin, because how odd they are even to PNF-404, are native to a different planet, and exist on PNF-404 to help those who are trapped and to get rid of the Big Bad who is ruining the planet. Maybe even pikmin are made by humans to take the planet back? Probably not the best explanation
If I'm correct, there's a chance Pikmin 4 retcons a few things, because Olimar speaks as if he JUST landed on the planet, first learning of the Pikmin, collecting pieces of the Dolphin. It may very well be that Pikmin 4 is either another timeline (god help us) or a retcon to say "This is what actually happened with Pikmin 1!" but I'm not sure, time will tell...tomorrow??
I think it’s a prequel. If you look at one of the music box treasure things(the one that plays the pikmin 3 theme) Olimar’s notes talks about how it gives him the feeling of a future adventure or something.
@@IJC039 That's for sure, I could gather that much from the fact Olimar has the Dolphin and needed to collect ship parts, etc. as well as him referring to Pikmin as if it was the first time he was finding them. so that's a fact, it's definitely a prequel
Most of this stuff is just nintendo logic. Though i dont think everything is an illusion, it could just be that the umibozu or whatever is controlling the tectontic movements of the plates
I think pikmin 4 is an alternate universe where Olimars interstellar radio is able to reach others planets. Where Olimar fails his mission and has to rely on others to get him home, and where the events of pikmin 2 cease to exist because Olimar can’t make it home, but olimars distress signals makes it so Louie is sent on a completely mission. I think it’s kind of strange, but I believe pikmin 4 falls in between 1 and 3, it’s like a different scenario for pikmin 2. What do you think?
3:23 "Africa" just kidding good vid I like that we Pikmin fans noticed the fucking house and are now scrambling to find what it means for the world building of Pikmin, but honestly, I think that Nintendo's just satisfying their family-friendly look in their games, and a post-apocalyptic environment is kinda limiting to make cute. (even though its possible) But hey, we get a game, that's all I want.
Pikmin 4 is a parallel story of Pikmin 1 in which Olimar failed to escape but called in the rescue team instead. PNF-404 time should be roughly the same as Pikmin 1.
Wasnt there something about humans and pikmin interacting with eachother at one point hence why they instantly follow the commands of the tiny space farers? Some speculate that some humans also left earth and evolved into hocotatians/kopaites.
i think like timeline wise that pikmin 4 might actually take place in between 1 and 2 i mean that would make more sense, if olimar did in fact get the bad ending, turned into that weird thing, then by the end gets found and cured, he could go back to hocotate freight after being rescued, and the events of pikmin 2 could start right then
3:09 ... wh..... no...??????? Huh?!? Time doesent move slowly in space. However time becomes distorted based on its speed. An object sitting still will age faster relative to the perspective of a fast moving object. Therefore as olimar and the gang travel back to hocatate at faster than light speed, while mere moments pass for them, pnf-404 and hocatate age drasticly.
I have a theory that all what you said already happend in a nintendo game named Crystalis. You can play it in the Nes NSO. Mainly this is a game that has the plot that the earth was pretty mich destoyed and that creatures have mutated just saying.
What’s easier is just to blame Nintendo for inconsistency. They always ditch consistently for the sake of development. Because in Pikmin 2 when you find the globe it’s obviously earth and the ship specifically says that it depicted how the planet looked from space. You could also factor in that we don’t really know how long it took for Olimar to return home and not really not how light speed/warping works in the game. I’m some medias it actually sends the user forward in time. The difference in landscape in Pikmin 2 could easily just be that the seasons have changed.
Blame Miyamoto here, he has stated on multiple occasions that he doesn’t like story in games and that it should either not exist or be the least important aspect of the game. It’s likely his push that messed up ToTK and probably this, too.
@@MySnugglePuppy Exactly. Miyamoto is a genius in the scope of development ideas, but his game dev ideology is garbage and has stunted so many great series.
You know what if in the prolog of pikmin 4...that isnt olimar its the umibozu mimicking olimar and retreating olimars firsr adveture in order to befriend the pikmin for himself, until he finds moss...a creature he doesn't recognize but decides to befriend it anyways...but then once he gets the cominicator ...it realized it could just use olimars distress signal (which let say umibozu was interfering with in the original to prevent olimars escape in pikmin 1) to lure more aliens to the planet and use the endless bounty of tresure ans food as the bait to keep them around
there is one thing though some people believe that pikmin 4 is after the bad ending of pikmin 1 meaning it would be after pikmin 1 not pikmin 3 which would make more sense of why the planets continents are not merged but it could still have somthing to do with Umibōzu
I think it’s more likely that that the pikmin games take place on an abandoned earth like in wall-e but due to like a virus or something that has caused all the small wildlife to mutate in order to survive
Im pretty sure pikmin 4 takes place in a different time line since olimar got pikminified (his life support ran out) but this theory is still fun nontheless
SPOILERS KINDA ITS IN THE DEMO If you keep going for days in the demo by not collecting treasure u unlock more of Olimars log. pikmin 1 2 and 3 never happened according to Olimar's log he dreamt about pikmin 2. which means pikmin 3 cant have happened cause he doesn't have the S.S dolphin. And it also means pikmin 1 events didn't happen at all besides the crash.
He says he had a dream about how Louie ate the golden PikPik carrots, not the debt itself. Reading comprehension is essential here. We'll know more when the full game is out.
Nah, its more likely Miyamoto just rebooted it to be more like his original idea (ants moving stuff around in his garden) and doesn't care much about story or established lore.

Astronauts in space age a little bit slower than people on Earth due to time-dilation effects, but only by a minuscule amount due to the relativity of time, which depends on the speed and gravity of the observer
i think the umibozu makes everyone crash and kidnapped olimar and turned olimar into a leafling because it doesnt want anyone to escape
the reason for it not wanting anyone to escape could be anything
BRO AT this point I think even Pikmin knows something is UP how the heck every single ship that lands crashes. And the Leaflings maaaaan
"How come fresh fruit is still laying around" because plants would still grow fruit without humans.
Fun fact: if you got a physical copy of pikmin 1, you can find a bag of seeds in it. The seeds are from flowers that were genetically bred to be identical to the flowers on pikmin!
Pikmin gameplay: Throw tiny colorful carrots
Pikmin lore: THE EARTH GOT NUKED AND EVERYTHING IS AN ILLUSION
I’ve been waiting for you to talk about this
I don't know if its just me, but could you do something about the sharpness off the *ding* sound effect you use
the devs in the ask the developer interviews basically brushing off giving concrete answers to this or the timeline is pretty funng
nah pikmin 4 is definitely a reboot let’s be real
I really liked this theory and I feel that it explains quite a bit.. Also, what's the music that begins at 5:38 ? I really like it and can't find it at all
what if the human extinction was a chernobyl type thing? No atom bombs, but intstead a atomic accident that unleashed tons of raditation across the world, but not in a explosion.
3:43 Indeed it is. Where everything is divisible by 2, 5, 10 and nothing arbitrary.
3:44: One of my favourite quotes. Yes, metric is the best.
wait i thought there was a note in 4 retconning pikmin 2 to a dream
3:23 “Africa”😅
I may or may not have failed geography :/
The advance most likely would’ve survived radiation since an average gameboy was able to survive an explosion in the war
The water wraith has Sapien in its scientific name so it probably is related to humans in some way
4:23 "not a spec of dust anywhere to be seen"
look at moss feet 💀
Have we ever considered the possibility that people just aren't at the locations the crewmates land at at thr exact time they do
Great video 😊
I think pikmin 4 is an alternate universe where Olimars interstellar radio is able to reach others planets. Where Olimar fails his mission and has to rely on others to get him home, and where the events of pikmin 2 cease to exist because Olimar can’t make it home, but olimars distress signals makes it so Louie is sent on a completely mission.
I think it’s kind of strange, but I believe pikmin 4 falls in between 1 and 3, it’s like a different scenario for pikmin 2.
What do you think?
3:23 "Africa"
just kidding good vid
I like that we Pikmin fans noticed the fucking house and are now scrambling to find what it means for the world building of Pikmin, but honestly, I think that Nintendo's just satisfying their family-friendly look in their games, and a post-apocalyptic environment is kinda limiting to make cute. (even though its possible) But hey, we get a game, that's all I want.
Off topic but i have a theory.
What if the events we see in pikmin short movies is what happens to olimar between p3 and p4?
I have used that exact same stock footage of earth that you had in the opening of your video lol
I'm pretty sure Miyamoto said in a interview around when pikmin 3 came out he said this is earth but years after we when extinct
Turns out pikmin 4 does not happen in the main story because there is a voyage log in the demo about pikmin 2 being a dream but the theory still works
Then it probably happens in the main story, Pikmin 2 just didn't happen
@@ethanstewart728that's dumb 🙄 and that was my first game into the series too. Bulbmins too,😢😢
3:46 😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡
Pikmin 4 is a parallel story of Pikmin 1 in which Olimar failed to escape but called in the rescue team instead. PNF-404 time should be roughly the same as Pikmin 1.
“Humans never give up”
Me: Are u sure about that?
Wasnt there something about humans and pikmin interacting with eachother at one point hence why they instantly follow the commands of the tiny space farers? Some speculate that some humans also left earth and evolved into hocotatians/kopaites.
0:05 unless you take a trip to space and die there.
The world can’t be conquered by things that are super slow and smaller than a cat.
I think The splatoon universe is The same as The pikmin universe
i think like
timeline wise
that pikmin 4 might actually take place in between 1 and 2
i mean that would make more sense, if olimar did in fact get the bad ending, turned into that weird thing, then by the end gets found and cured, he could go back to hocotate freight after being rescued, and the events of pikmin 2 could start right then
3:09 ... wh..... no...???????
It’ll be shocking if the final boss in a future Pikmin game is a human since they’re bigger than Olimar and the others who went to pnf-404
I have a theory that all what you said already happend in a nintendo game named Crystalis. You can play it in the Nes NSO. Mainly this is a game that has the plot that the earth was pretty mich destoyed and that creatures have mutated just saying.
Raggins, its theiroized Kopaites that pikmin 4 is right after pikmin 1 or during night the thing that eats bodies cleans up the dust in houses
Umibōzu is a fictional Japanese creature Amabōzu (the actual Pikmin character) was named after.
The Gameboy Advance SP is still here because it's made of Nintendium
I feel like you guys are just blaming anything on everything because of a wack ass theory
@@Mentallyheld No, the theory is whack. I’m just blaming Nintendo themselves for never keeping things consistent with any of their games ever.
@@MrMindCloud but pikmin is very consistent?? what do you mean exactly?
7:21 add Tchaikovsky Piano Concerto No1 to this
Im pretty sure pikmin 4 takes place in a different time line since olimar got pikminified (his life support ran out) but this theory is still fun nontheless
SPOILERS KINDA ITS IN THE DEMO
If you keep going for days in the demo by not collecting treasure u unlock more of Olimars log.
pikmin 1 2 and 3 never happened according to Olimar's log he dreamt about pikmin 2. which means pikmin 3 cant have happened cause he doesn't have the S.S dolphin. And it also means pikmin 1 events didn't happen at all besides the crash.
He says he had a dream about how Louie ate the golden PikPik carrots, not the debt itself. Reading comprehension is essential here. We'll know more when the full game is out.
I remember Dazz doing a theory like this lol
Nah, its more likely Miyamoto just rebooted it to be more like his original idea (ants moving stuff around in his garden) and doesn't care much about story or established lore.
Pikmin 4 is a re-run of pikmin 1, simple, thats why time " reverted "
Where then it's just that the zones are just lost places where no humans come
and for the house the family may have simply gone on vacation ?
I hope we invent real Pikmin
Not to be a party pooper but..
We kinda have pikmin in real like, there’s a flower that was made just to promote the gamecube pikmin game
@@squidfresh3082 It's a breed of Chaenostoma cordatum, a flower that already existed before Pikmin
@@kuutti256 It’s literally called the Pikmin Flower, though.
For your love for the house, I have a gut feeling that you played Chibi Robo..🤔
I love the house from Chibi Robo 😄
Never gave it a try, but I might
@@Raggins I have a very strong gut feeling you'll love exploring the Chibi Robo (GC) house, from the perspective of a Chibi Robo. I'll just say without spoiling anything, the house is big, 😄the story is deep, and the game and characters is very memorable ♥
It's my favourite Game Cube console exclusive game
The lifeforms are too foreign to be earth as we know it, and everything is in near pristine condition. I dont think it's actually desolate of larger lifeforms, but it's difficult to say entirely
Pikmin 4 is an alternate timeline as shown in the demo
time is slower when you go closer to the speed of light
or are closer to a massive object
