I’m from Atlanta and between Creflo and T D Jakes, I stopped going to church. The smaller churches have even more sick things going on. I don’t have to go to know God….

Yes there are ! I was a devout believer and I still am, but I loved my church till after my pastor retired after 40 years of being a wonderful and so kind to his congregation of a smaller church. Now I am not going to any church, I am not able to go out because I am to old and legally blind,so I have found some great pastors on the website, that I so trust and admire, because they are very much TRUth teller’s & not after my $$$ !!! Creflo told the church many times that his adopted a white boy name was Michael Smith. Michael preached in church and he was a great preacher, in fact, Michael was more anointed than creflo. Michael got married and he and his wife moved to another state. I never heard of the other two sons.
and I wonder why the didn't mention Michael Smith as his first adopted son.
Michael started a church in the state where he and wife moved. He also started a satilight church here in Fayetteville Ga, but it never really got started completely so eventually it was closed. I enjoyed Michael's teaching and preaching because his messages were refreshing and innocent. There was a great difference between Michael and creflo's preaching. Michael was all about getting people getting saved and seeing the Goodness of a loving God. Creflo is all about living the high life from other peoples money.
I still have some of Michael's tapes. Although, he is younger than creflo he was much more powerful.

When I moved to Atlanta in 1993, I was introduced to World Changers Church.
Once I went for help with my rent. I was told that GOD IS MY ONLY SOURCE.- and I was given some scriptures. I was so upset. But guess what, I stood on those scriptures and learned that God is my only source. It is true. That was 30 years ago and God has always provided for me. Always. Never had to beg from anyone.

I went to his church once and it was so different from what I was used to being from Chicago. I didn’t feel the warmth and home-y feel that church should give you. That said I’ve been to other large churches and felt that comfort. Could be evident of his creed and subsequent style of preaching.
@Irs1519. MOST of that membership do NOT live near the property. They’re not even mostly from the Atlanta/Fayetteville area. Very few pockets of them know each other personally, or even have any “family” connections to those regions-unless they’ve moved there since joining The Dollars’ church(es). A number are employees of World Changers & its adjunct businesses, (dry-cleaners, day care, temp services, groundskeepers, etc.) M-F.
In megachurches there’s always some excuse for propping-up pastors & their families to function as inaccessible “celebrities” like Jim & Tammy Baker after whom many were modeled.
They have publicists, film crews, technicians, musicians, studios & staff as well as personal security-details & make a point NOT to become too personally acquainted with members except briefly, & by appointment-only; they don’t meet with the general public at all, unless celebrities are visiting & the royals want to meet them.
It IS impersonal by design & one has to pay their way into any fleeting recognition because officers are “hired” more than promoted from within.
All of that is the antithesis to traditional, doctrinal church home & community service concepts. People join because it’s fashionable & because they want to solicit for customers & advertise their own products/services or smaller “ministries,” mostly.
A few do want to study Prosperity principles, or just pocket watch, or because they are hopeful of getting good financial advice. They may. But most churches having over 5,000 members are avariciously greedy more than they are informative. They’re also more of an arena than an actual traditional church. Not a lot of Spiritual Growth really-UNLESS you never went to church before!!
Then it’s a way to hear scriptures recited frequently & to make notes as needed, which is fine. But all the music, lighting, tasty food, social swirling, & dancing might leave people even MORE confused & misinformed than when they started “learning.”

I few years back. My friend and I went to a really nice restaurant and chatted with the server. She said Creflo was there, ran up a bill and loads of demands, and barely tipped her 2% of the total bill. As a former server, that’s one of the biggest tells of someone with character.

My ex-mother-in-law would brag about paying 4,500 a month in tiths. Then cry and complain to her son about being in debt and needing help with her bills. My husband (at the time) paid $15,000 off in HER credit card bills all while going into debt himself. He said "GOD told him to do it". That was it for me and that relationship.

I had a friend who for years wouldvsend her tithes to his church. She went on vacation and flew to GA to meet him..Unfortunately that was impossible. His entourage stopped and told her that creflo dollar do not shake hands nor do he talk to his members or visitors. Her feeling was hurt. She flew back home and she stopped sending her tithes and offering to his congregation.

I worked at a Christian network station here in Atlanta. He did his weekly syndicated talk show there every week. Mr. Dollar was ARROGANT, rude and very demanding. I quit a month later.

If there’s a financial need in your life and it’s something that God wants you to have, then He will impress that need on the hearts of those He wants to provide it.
My aunt and uncle were in music ministry. They traveled around the southeast to different churches to sing for congregations. They depended on a small share of the donations given by the parishioners to keep it going. They barely made ends meet.
When things got tight they would trust God to provide. This was in the 80’s. They didn’t go around asking for handouts.
Then one day they’d get a couple of checks in the mail from people who heard them sing months prior in their church! I saw this happen several times! I was living with them at the time as a favor to my dad who was dealing with my mentally disturbed mom.
Please don’t give up on God or deny His existence. Ask Him to reveal himself to you! Be sincere.
