- Hope you guys enjoy this video of my dehatting ceremony as a Drill Sergeant. This was my last official day wearing the Drill Sergeant campaign hat for three continuous years. I served as a Platoon Senior Drill and the Company Senior Drill. It was an honor to have trained over 2000 awesome future leaders of AMERICA’s Army. Please excuse the children being children lol. Have A Blessed Day.
Senior drill SGT at 11:09 that’s you chewing me out in B35 chow hall I remember that exact moment -PFC Hillenbrand
Hey congratulations Brother . I remember training in basic training, like yesterday. Time goes fast. Good luck on the rest of your career!!!
Congratulations and Thank You For Your Service!
Respectfully,
Charles M. Bettis Jr.
U.S. Army Veteran
82C10 FA Surveyor
1991-1996
Taking the Campaign hat off just about made me tear up
Although I haven’t served and I don’t know what it is like to be a recruit or DI. All I want to say is Thank You For Your Service and Everything you Have done for This Great Nation. God Bless you and those you have served along side.
Freaking outstanding Drill Sgt.... thank u Drill Sgt..
This We’ll Defend ✊🏾
Till The End Battle!
This video was in my suggestion list. Had to watch it since it was from Fort Leonard Wood. I remember you during my cycle. I was not in your company though. You yelled at me during chow because I didn't greet you. Then my drill sergeants came at me as well. Small world. May the lord continue bless you and your family.
Thank you for everything you have done sir!
Good stuff. So easy to see Drill Seargent as other than human. Especially in basic etc. Good NCOs are there for the solders. I never was a drill but tried to keep my solders first. Thanks for sharing the video. And yes I know it from a while back. Thanks for what you did.
I remember you in osut, I was in second platoon so you weren't over me but I remembered how good of a drill sergeant you were and how good you were at calling cadence.
You’re an inspiration.
So much respect. I’m 22 I didn’t have my life together when I was 18. I’m going to get my credentials together to join. This kind of stuff is inspiring. Thank you for everything you’ve done
I’m 30 now, wonder if it’s too late for me to join? I’m still going job to job paycheck to paycheck trying to make it.
@@mistacdawg 2 years later, I had some dental things holding me back. I updated my selective service info. I currently am dealing with my dad’s cancer diagnosis and getting a timeline.
If you’re 31 now, you can still join, but at least in the army, they’re looking for 20 years and where you’ll be, so as long as you’re not 55 in 20 years and your medical doesn’t have too many flags (don’t talk about stupid stipulations) like if you walked into a recruiter tomorrow being 31 and you waiting 8 months for moral and medical clearance you should be golden.
I still 100 percent want to serve for my own personal gain before my country (just my ideology I love my country) I just have some things going on with my family and I hope I can figure something out by the end of this year for where I’d house my parent or parents while I was gone.
Fond memories of Fort Sill for me. Drill Sgt 89-92. Best job in the Army !
Good luck on wherever the Army sends you next. Even 17 years later I still remember my drill sergeants
Man so do I especially my senior Drill SGT.
gunslin33able my drill sergeant ended up coming to Campbell a little over 2 years after I finished basic. Ran into him at the at the shoppette but I was an E-5 then. So he just shot the shit with me for a little bit.
Congrats. HOOAH!!!!!!
Thanks for sharing!!!! You did that, Hooah!!!
This is so awesome! I'm so proud of you!!
Thank you big sis!
Congratulations!!! Army vet from '75-'81. Leonard Wood has changed but the tradition continues. I'm proud to have begun my service with basic at that post. Hooah!!!
Salute from The Netherlands, wish I was an American, would've joined the US army for sure.
The day you see a drill sergeant cry
Respect.
I had SDS Sheehan at Delta he’s the 🐐
Hooah Senior drill Sgt!!
I with it drill
My dad was a drill SGT
It looks like the headdress has a ceremonial meaning. Can you tell me what is the difference between a cap and a round hat, and what is their meaning?
Is that 1st Sgt beam?
Yes that was 1SG Beam lol
Was this in the middle of basic? Also, good work Drill Sergeant!

5:15 either DS is very short or that dude is tall as hell.
Congratulations drill sergeant. However for the parents to let their kids just run around how disrespectful and distracting
Disrespectful to have that kid out there. Its not his ceremony. Every moment doesn't have to be a youtube moment.
ARMY SHOULD OF KEPT THE SHARK ATTACK
I can't see anyone are they all tarned? Lul😂
I don't understand the situation
I just got promoted To Drill sergeant
You don't get promoted to drill sgt, you graduate a academy and earn the campaign cover.
