Rob you’re the man. Sharing knowledge and genuinely caring about your craft. I haven’t played guitar in ten years after a stint drumming at a professional level. But getting back into it now as a hobby and passion your content, enthusiasm and care for the art have not only been incredibly inspiring but also very insightful and thoughtful. Appreciate it man.
honestly you have been great for me bridging the gap between basically every skill of guitar. i watched your videos on tips to buy a guitar all the way now to these videos that seem to bridge the gap from lower to upper intermediate. i have never had a formal lesson in guitar but you have really helped me bridge just about every skill gap from beginner to intermediate in playing and also just knowing what the parts of an electric guitar are and how to buy guitars. thanks man and keep doing what you do.
that haircut is called the 'soccer mum' lol
the Dora Explorer if you know what I mean
I always learn new things from you Rob. Please don't stop teaching us. I could listen to you and Lee jam all day! Thank you!!
Chappers, this stuff is just great. I enjoy your other videos and the banter with the Captain is also brilliant but this video is just the sort of thing that virtually ANY guitarist can relate to. The content, delivery and vibe is absolutely right on. Thanks, man. You ROCK! MOOOAAARRRRR!!!!
The laptop's background reminded me of Youthanasia so much, haha :D
yes!!!!!
as a beginner in this guitar stuff this video just opened a whole new world for me thank you so much i can't be happier this year :D
Hey Rob, Thanks a bunch for posting this! More please!
This video actually delivered unlike pretty well every other similar video I've seen (from anyone). These tricks are useful.
At the stage I'm at with my playing this vid is exactly what I needed, some seriously helpful drills, thanks chappers
One of the best and simpliest guitar lessons I ever watched. Thanks a lot Rob for your lesson; please: Keep rockin! love, from Spain.
I love watching Rob doing this stuff - you can still see the excitement pouring out of him when he's teaching a lick that sounds amazing. In a way its a shame his success has probably taken him away from teaching guitar - the world needs more teachers who have the ability to inspire people.
You must do more of that! Every one of your videos are incredibly informative, I feel I get to the next level every time
I distinctly remember you showing that 3 octave minor scale lick (lick 2) in a much older video because I memorized it and love pulling it out of the bag of tricks now and again. cheers!
The sound is unbelievable Rob
thanks Rob! you are the best kind sir! I'm going to learn everyone of these!
Love your concepts .. What I just learned in 10 minutes just improved my playing tremendously, THANKS MY FRIEND !!
Actually found this really useful, opened my mind up to many different picking techniques. Cheers Chappers.
Wild, instructional entertainment! And yet another guitar heads straight to my wish list! Yum!
Thanks Rob. That was really great. I hope you do more "lick" videos. Your ideas are really helping to expand my vocabulary.
I love this man...LOVE it. Do more like it. MOAR!!! The presentation format, the ideas...yus Quick and to the point. Awesome.
Dang man! Watching you break these licks down really shows what a good guitar player you actually are.
Chappers !!! You are pleasantly Out of your Mind , and I love it !!!! Thanks for shareing a few nuggets from your brain !!
Cheers Rob great to see this content again!
Not only a great vocalist, but also badass guitar player.
Excellent tips there, Old Bean. Lovely do too!
the guitar is in Eb standard, if anyone was trying to figure it out like I was.
hey, Rob, I gained so much from this video. I got a lot better today, got a little bit over that hump, where you're decent enough to handle yourself in gigs and bands but not getting any better. You also made me exercise my guitar chops, in addition to the three things in the video, which were all new to me and I'm committing to memory. thank you so much! Cheers, Monkey Lord
I realized it once he played the 15th feet of the B string. I play the godfather theme enough to remember the sound of that note.
Thanks for sharing these great licks. Amazing!
Brilliance of Genius Monkey Lord. And now to apply this vid to my fingers and fretboard. Thanks again for the motivation!
Great licks, thanks Rob !!!
Kick-ass playing as always! Thanks Chappers!
Oh shit! Thanks for coming back to us with the lessons. this video and your latest Jimi Hendrix video are awesome
Another brilliant lesson! You are such an inspiring guy!
Series confirmed Chappers kitchen tutorials yaaaaaaaaaay :DDDD
Awesome that arpeggio sounded sweet! More videos like this please Rob :D
Thanks Rob, that's brilliant!
excellent tips, definitely somethings I'm going to start learning. Thanks for sharing!
That pentatonic idea is excellent. I'm not much into shredding but it has a great dynamic sound that coukd be great for riffing
This video was so cool :) rob you're one of my heroes and you inspire me so much! 🤘🏻
Cool deal! These are easy and very usable concepts. Helps get me out of I know it all ruts. Thanks Brotha!
Rob - I need to take my guitar to work to have a go at those licks over my lunch break! very informative and sounds brilliant - thanks 😊
Thanks Rob! Thanks for some new stuff to work on :D Greetings from Poland :D
Great stuff! Thank you Rob!
Thank you, Rob.
Good input.
I'm not the only guitar player to have bent digits! It takes lots of work to overcome" bent in" 1st finger and pinkies. I'm envious of the players with a 7 fret reach, and able to thumb the low E as well. Great lesson, pajamas or no pajamas ha!
Love that guitar, looks bloody beautiful!
Thanks for sharing that!! I'm an old time rocker but I always try to learn new things. Currently working on the "Circle of Doom" vid. I'm doing better than I thought I would.
Thanks again !
Great lesson! Keep it coming.
Really useful lessons Rob, so cool thanks!!
Good to see you rockin' the awesome ML2 again
Awesome lesson rob thank you!
i always loved your tone Rob !
Another awesome vid, Rob!

Rob..... you are a rock guitar god!
job done...your videos make me run upstairs and grab my guitar going "never thought of that!" top work :-)
wow that intro noodling was badass
Still in love with the ML-2, it looks amazing.
Great lesson... had to play the first minute on a loop for ages to get in tune with the mistro! Half step down... minus a bit!
More of these lessons Rob plz there great
Great Vid Rob, loving these kinds of videos. I am seriously in love with the standard Chappers gear, they are seriously beautiful guitars. Keep up the amazing work! :)
Thank you sir. That was fantastic! Full of information and gave for an interidiate player (me) a couple of weeks of hard work! Screw haters...
Thanks so much for these, please do more :)
The first lick pattern he showed us is something Tosin Abasi does quite a bit, really unique sound.
Rob this is an awesome singelcut guitar and a great sound!!!
Thank you for your great info, really appreciated :)
Hi Rob. Thank you for all your tutorials. Love all your videos, great playing and a great attitude. I just wanted to ask if you are using any overdrive pedals to boost the gain channel on your HT-5.
I have a Blackstar Ht - 5R combo and i was going to try your setting but a noticed we use it EXACTLY the same just different volume. its funny because i really like your tone and i guess my ears learned to recreate the tone although we play really different styles of music.
Good stuff, Rob!!
Thanks Chappers :), I was literally on the point of searching hammer on and pull of exercises. And then I received a notification for this video It's like you can read my mind... and I was playing on my ML-2 as well 0.o have fun in NY. Looking forward to that documentary you're making.
Chappers, this was great. Pls. Chappers. More short clip lessons like dis.
Great stuff Rob....
I love that guitar 💪🏼😁💪🏼
Aeormancy intro tururur first trick. Sweeeeet tricks and tips, I'm so happy I just need to comment about how happy this video made me :)
Please... do more of tutorials like these!!!
Hey Rob! I'm looking for a decent distortion pedal, what would you recommend?? Btw love the videos!!!
Great lesson Thanks
Awesome video man! I own an Ml-1 mahogany natural finish, I love it , It's the best guitar I have ever owned.
these videos are cool, man!
KIller stuff!! I go back and forth trying to find the "right" pick. What do you suggest?
... cool licks , thank you for the tips ! .... :)
need more videos like this :)
Rob! You should come to Canada so I can meet and show you in person how absolutely astounding you are!
Thank you for this, very informative as always.
I only wish tutors I've used in Berkshire were of your calibre.
WOW! Thank You.
I have fallen in love with your guitar Chappers. What model is it please?
Chappers Riff Kitchen: Cooking up riffs to melt your face!
Thank you for this
Oh btw I was listening to your ep all day yesterday and on my 2 hr ride to work. :)
Hey Rob. for the kind of leads that I see u play in so many of your videos with hybrid picking, do you ever play that with just the pick? or does it get too quick
If that's a HT5 it sounds amazing. My main two amps are a Boogie Mini Rec and a HT5 and I don't know which i like using more. Great little amp. :)
+L Blair Using an HT5 C myself and I can only agree with you - the HT5 series is just awesome :D
Frick it's tough being a beginner/novice guitar player, takes a ton of time and discipline. These videos are definitely helpful to keep one inspired and moving forward. Plus there's something about Chapper's playing that is indeed organic and unique.
Seems like there's so much garbage and nonsense on youtube but the lively guitar culture is one of it's major positive elements in the way that it helps small fry much like myself come up and allows the pros to channel the infinite aether through the guitar strings to an audience they might not otherwise have.
On that note, I've been debating between the Chapman ML-2 (seen above) and the PRS SE 245. Thoughts?
@Rob Chapman
hi chappers, I was hoping for some advice, I'm a young guitarist inspired by the blues and I was wondering if you could build left hand speed when your not playing guitar, also I've been learning some Eric Clapton and I wanted to know how to improve my phrasing for blues licks, thanks alot I love all your videos and good luck :-D
Thanks for the video. I'll take the second lick as an exercise to build up speed along this year. Let's see what happens. :)
great tips thank you
Do you have everything tuned down to Eb?
Since that was "standard".
A bit of Hendrix maybe.
I never knew until now that you were taught by Shaun Baxter, Chappers! I studied at the Academy of Music and Sound, he wrote the guitar course for that. Saw him at a few master classes too. Small world!
Hey Chappers! If you got the time, I'm looking to get a new pedalboard, preferably with a case. Any brands or recommendations? I'd be using at the most 10, but most likely around 5 pedals.
save yourself some money and make one out of wood! it's what I'm doing and it'll be a fun process. as for the case, maybe a large enough road runner if they make them them the size that you want :)
Those pyjama bottoms are louder than your amp!
BUZZIN HORNET lol
