I had my attic spray foam and added a couple supplies and a return in half of the attic, where I will be making a home theater. So far, the little $300 portable dehumidifier has been running consistently, but keeping a relative humidity between 50-60%. Once I add a ceiling and gypsum to my ceiling and knee walls, I’m concerned those spaces behind the knee walls could be an issue. I thought I’d put some 4 inch flex duct back there in case I ever want to hook that up to a larger dehumidifier. I wasn’t even considering the possibility of connecting it to the return of the main unit.
