I've been watching your videos since at least 3 years ago and I've always wanted to invite you to my place in Italy but I never thought you'd ever consider making videos in Europe. My home was built in the 1400s and has lots of land around it. up to 25 farmers used to live and work there. I'm now in Japan for work but I always go back there as my parents still live that house. We've owned it since 1972 when metal detectors were't a thing, so it's never been searched.

Good for you, Brad and good of Chill Bill to take you Adventuring. I laughed when he said, "Don't fall in", you laughed too, until you looked down the well, that is. The landowner needs to cover it with a heavy grate at least, to protect the woodland creatures. ( : Congrats on your oldest coin find, Brad.

I LOVE watching this series! The excitement and joy in your face is such fun to watch, like a kid in his first candy store. Not making fun, I'd be the same or worse.

Hi Brad, the best way to learn French is to chat to the locals, you learn way more than you would other ways.
I adore France, I have actually been to France 3 times twice of which was to go to the famous 24 Heure Le Mans car race
which is absolutely fantastic to see.
Congratulation's on day 2's find, they are awesome especially the ring and the thimble and of course the Demi Franc.
Thank you for sharing, much love. xx ❤

When you showed the standing home I first thought of the three little pigs story. Straw, sticks and brick. I guess because of the thick walls of brick and it was still standing and then Bill starts talking about the wild boar in that area. Weird coincidence. The fireplace hearth was awesome!
Nice finds. Bill is a character. Seems fun and genuine. He is also knowledgeable. Great trip.
    Thanks for sharing.

Your vids are sustaining me. My detector was stolen out of my truck 3 months ago..heartbreaking! I'll eventually afford a replacement, but untill then, I thank you for your continued inspiration mr brad!! France has to be a dream come true! That's what I was wondering like what did they hang people upside down and have them dig down in there or just how did they manage that back in those days.

    • @johnmorgenthaler3611
      @johnmorgenthaler3611 2 роки тому

The way they were dug first the bricks are layered up to build about a four foot tall section of the well casing. Then from inside the casing
You dig And hand out the dirt, you dig under the brick and slowly the casing lowers. The digger is protected from cave in and helpers at the top haul the dirt out .All the brick work is done at the top as the whole cylinder slides down the hole until you hit water. It’s truely simple
      But also amazing

First time i stepped into an old stone home from the early days i could not believes whole families lived in that small a space. We do still have some early homes intact here in Mass and owned by the historical society. I love visiting historical sites and getting a peak into the great past of eons ago. I am not personally into metal detecting, but I really enjoy your videos. You were advertising XP metal detector and I am so glad you are doing this. I felt for a long time your followers were wondering about what you use, so I am very glad you have decided to advertise what you believe in. You work hard on your videos from video to music. Don't feel bad about advertising, as you are really helping many that watch your videos. There was an 8 year old boy that lived with us. He had an I.Q. of 52. I would say curiosity killed the cat. Well, the reason why this brickstone wall at the beginning was so thick is, there is normaly a gap in the middle of the wall going all the way through the wall. When the sun hits the outer wall the air in the gap is heating up, moving around and isolates the inner wall. Kepps the house warm and cozy in winter times and cool in the summer. We here in Germany used to build houses like this until the 1950.

18th century Farm Houses in Vermont ... Hmmm ? As a youngster, living in coastal NE Massachusetts, my grandmother's home was an 1710 Saltbox, mostly original woodwork, Gun stock corners, large raised paneled wainscotting throughout, hand-hewn beams in ceilings, and stairs as steep and narrow as a ladder against a wall .. There are still many 18th century examples in Cape Ann along the North Shore ... But, in Vermont, I honestly can't think of one surviving example .. Being in France, with Chill Bill has to be an adventure of a life time Brad .. Thanks for sharing and Good Luck in the hunt.

Nice guys, I used to live on Ascension island ruins from the 1800s so much iron (volcanic) in the ground metal detectors at the time didnt work but amazing finds just knocking about.

Congrats on your finds, especially the silver. Has anyone ever considered magnet fishing the well?

Yes! Could you imagine? Perfect place, UK, to find beautiful coins and military buttons.
