Hello Suraj, Thankyou for sharing such a detailed sessions on each topic. Many of the options/functions in the views/ Flows are common. Can you create one Matrix/table for all possible functionalities/options(Y-axis) in each of the view /Flow type(X-ais). This would give single view of available options and can help to expediate learning 🙂. Thanks!
Hi, In the above video, you created an association between the Sales order view and BusinessPartners table, Sales order view and Partner Text table. I have few questions. Can you please clarify them? 1. The entire model sales ER model is saved by clicking on open space. But while deploying why again is the Sales Order view selected and deployed? Can't we deploy immediately after saving the Sales ER model ? 2. The second question is whether we can create an Analytic model only from View but not from a table (fact or Dimension) ? 3. At last once the Analytic model is created only the connection between the Sales order view and BusinessPartners table is visible but not the Sales order view and Partner Text table. Because there is an association established to both tables from the Sales Order view.
hi Charan, please find my response below: 1. save and deploy are global to opened E-R model and irrespective of the object selected in screen it will save and deploy all related object those are part of E-R model. 2. You can create analytical model directly on table, however as per best practice you can always use a view on top of table 3. My bad - for text association you need to select the specific column and associate text
Hi panna, any table that has measure and gets updated very frequently is normally a fact table which stores transaction data like Sales order table I have used. Any table that only stores the properties or attributes of a dimension is called dimension table. Like address table, business partner table etc. These tables are also referred as master data table and updates over a period of time.
