    Thank you for this video!! Feels good to know you are not the only person going through it. My son is 4 and has a speech delay. He is soo smart and understands everything but can’t communicate back. And like you said you want to get frustrated and compare your kid to other kids but I have to remind myself not to. Watching your videos really does help, thank you!!

    Thank you so much for this video! So glad I came across it. My son is 2 and has a speech delay. Currently in speech therapy and we are already seeing improvements! Thanks for the advice my son is 3 years old and he don't talk and the tantrum is so terrible he hits a lot he break my Phone,TV,IPad dishes ect not sure what he has cause in my country here in Guyana they don't have any Dr to formally diagnose him hopefully by year end I can take him overseas to see what help he can get it's so stressful for me I'm a single parent but I'm trying my best I also put him in a special autism school cause the normal school say they can't handle him he also do speech therapy twice a week.

    Thanks for this video and for being so open about your family's journey with a speech delay. My son is 2, and was diagnosed with a speech delay at his 24 month check up. He just started speech therapy today. We're still at the beginning of our journey, but it's comforting to know we're not alone. It feels so overwhelming, and your advice means a lot. Thanks again for being so open.

    Hi thanks for the update. It's so comforting to find others who are going through the same thing. People assume that learning language is easy. I now know that it's tougher for some, but if we just keep swimming (as you say) we will still get to the destination. Yay! Also I'm curious what are some of your son's strengths. I think it's important to celebrate what they can do and not always focus on what they can't. Finally, I totally sympathize about your decision to homeschool. Lately, I've been realizing how challenging it is to find a place for kids that don't follow the mold. Anyways just wanted to share! Thanks again!

    Thinking of putting my almost 3 year old to Montessori school, he’s speech delay. Probably says around 15 words, no sentences. He goes to regular daycare twice a week but I found a Montessori school that can accept him for twice a week. I’m hoping it doesn’t make him frustrated from not able to communicate as much. Is a small, new school as well. 😩

    thank you so much . i have 3 .8 months old son his name is dgedhun jungnay and he is non vocal. we took him to all the places to find out the solutions. he is a very fun loving child. he loves to run around . and loves watching his cartoon channels. he goes to school also but unlike other kids he never had any meltdown for not staying in school in fact he loves his school. he is a very shy boy . as a mother i was very sad to see him getting delayed in all the milestones but now with time i am fine with it and yes i have stopped comparing him to other kids. i know he is smart but he takes little longer time to get there. we are working on his speech and i know he will reach there soon or later.
    best wishes to all the families who are in the same boat and may God bless your child.

So his dr just recommended some books that are good for reading to him in a daily and if in 3 months he don’t have any improvement I have to take him back in . I’m glad I came across your channel because it honestly makes me feel more at ease that things can get better. Hoping my lil one improves in his speaking

    I’ve just come across you channel. So awesome! My 2 year has speech delay & we are just now entering early interventions. With no offense just another first time mom with so many wonders, what did advisors tell you when he was being evaluated? Like how did they know it was just a speech delay vs autism? Again, just very new & curious...no one is reassuring us of much at this point but I realize we are very early on into this process. Thanks so much!!! Love your channel btw

    • @DrakesNest
      @DrakesNest  5 років тому

      They didn’t know if it was autism or just speech I in the beginning he just obviously qualified for intervention. We never got a formal diagnosis that young, I wanted to wait until he was alittle older...that was just a personal choice. Most of what we were worried about “spectrum” wise went away as his language got better and better...obviously every situation is different tho. Best wishes xx

      I’m not a professional so don’t want to give any advice in that way but I’m a huge believer in early intervention so if you have concerns talk to your pediatrician and maybe they can recommend evaluations for speech therapy. And just talking a lot at home, talking slowly, describing pictures in books…:playing simple games. Anything like that helps:)

    Hi, I'm new to your channel and I was looking at your other speech delay video and I am worried about my daughter. She is 30 months and she understands everything we say, she does pretend play and a lot of other things but she doesn't put words together...she says words by themselves but she also still babbles A LOT...should I be worried and should I take her to see someone. She is very smart she just isn't putting words together and I'm worried cuz people say oh wow she is 2 and a half and doesn't put sentences together...well my kid was talking at one and a half or two. Thanks so much Jami (a concerned mother)

    • @DrakesNest
      @DrakesNest  5 років тому

      Hey, so just remember that every kid is different and every kid learns at a diff pace. Also every speech delay is different...it can’t hurt to mention it to your doctor...I promise speech therapy isn’t scary and doesn’t mean something bigger is wrong...she may just need alittle extra help and time... and early intervention is free so that helps hehe best of luck!:)
