What is the point of having the Phantom 4 RTK drone, if your process does not require it? Could a pilot simply use a P4P V2.0 with your Aeropoints? I thought the whole point of the P4 RTK was to eliminate the need for GCPs

PPK is more time efficient, safer and more accurate. Placing the GCPs out in very specific places with good coverage in a large hostile environment such as a mine, a farm near roads it is dangerous and time consuming. It can take up to 5 hours in some cases if mobility is difficult to get good coverage, PPK can bring this down to an hour in the worst cases but probably less. For the worker its safer and if mobility is bad less exhausting, for the employer or owner of the drone its cheaper and for the client its more accurate results. The problem is the price difference but given enough use with the extra efficiency it will pay for its self and then some.

@@benpearson8831 But with an good RTK drone, most of the time I do not really need any GCPs. My P4 RTK with D-RTK 2 is very accurate without the use of any GCPs in the field and I no not need any type of data connection. Granted, I have never tried processing a PPK type mapping flight for comparison to see how much more accurate it might be. Something I should do, if for anything just to help myself learn about it and see what works.
