Hey Fred....here in NYC it's hard to find anything good for $20. avg. price..... Found Old Tub BiB....for $31.99... haven't tried it yet... hope it's worth the price...
I had low expectations for this and had heard all of the hype so I picked up a bottle and I was blown away. This and Wild Turkey 101 are my current every day sippers.
I didn't used to like the Beam house flavor, but I really like this bottle. The only other time I remember liking Beam this much is Booker's. Outstanding value at $20.
This to me is the Knob Creek Single Barrel toned down, I feel it's got a great hot cracker jack in from the box taste. Corn, toffee/caramel, hot peanuts w spicy lingering finish and a hint of mint.
I admit it.. I got sucked in to the hype and have shelves full of $40 to $80 turds. After trying this I have found the one. My rotation is this and anything from the whiskey row series. One good thing has come out of all this. The fact I will sleep well at night knowing that I have white elephant Christmas gifts to pass out for the rest of my days.. This is truly a do it all bourbon. My bank account might be able to stay in the black this season..
My local store priced "On Sale" at 16.99 a bottle (Brevard, FL). Not my favorite but with one ice cube it really opened up. Which in return it started to impress me. If you find it under 18 definitely worth a try, and at this price ill probably always have a bottle around.
Found it in fl for $23, got me 2 bottles...good stuff....definitely smell the peanut butter and honey and pepper, now I gotta try and smell the cornbread lol
Have you compared this to JB Distiller's Cut? Seems like the main difference would be an extra year or 2 of age on the Distiller's Cut. Both are 100 proof and NCF and I assume the same mash bill.
Found Old Tub after seeing your 10 starter collection bourbons. Needless to say, I now have 3 Old Tubs for my everyday bourbon (always gotta have a backup bottle!)
Still one of my favorites. I picked it up on a whim. I never watched any reviews about it until after I tried it and was so impressed.
Enjoying my fourth or fifth bottle- $20 in nj
That peanut flavor hits me like a train, with honey next, and a peppery end. So good. Cornbread on the nose is definitely, well, on the nose.

Glad to see a review on this....I agree completely with your analysis...on my second bottle.

I’ve never before had the viscous mouth feel this delivers. It’s on sale for $17 in Philly. I’d say it’s a shade below old grandad. Awesome value. 👍🏼
I have to agree. It’s a great every day bourbon. I have found it for just under $16. Worth more than that.
My wife and I just finished a blind bracket of 12 bourbons 92-101 proof, and this one was my runaway winner. Just fantastic.
I love this bourbon. I have bought about 7 bottles at $19.99. It is amazing 👏.
Pure joy to get a sweet buy like that, right?
@@FredMinnick it really is. I buy a few at a time because of that price.
@@FredMinnick thanks for the reply man. Didn't expect that. Made my day. 🥃

Old Tub is like $17 in PA right now. It’s a great buy at that price
I love the peanut butter note in the Old Tub!
I got mines for $19.99 and I must admit for the price it’s the best quality for cheapy so far

I paid $17 a bottle in Austin. Bought 3. Love it. Will get more!

Miss thosze days…-18 .50
Definitely like the background music in this video over some of the prior background music. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

I get peanut brittle on the taste. A bit thin but can't argue for +-$20
Fantastic whiskey at a great price! Thank you for the review!
Haven't had this yet. But I'm looking forward to trying it! Also I dig the way you say cornbread. :)
Mmmm. Cornbread
Good stuff, never noticed the southern twang in your voice before 😁

I really enjoy this bottle! I get dusty corn. Ive seen it $16-19 in DFW.
I found my first bottle of Eagle Rare and Wild Turkey 101 at Target! 🥳 Wanna try this one!
I can't get it here in Indy, but a friend was able to get a bottle for me. If I can I will definitely be getting more. Loved the review Fred!
Great review Fred! I cracked a bottle of Old Tub last week. Great bourbon for the money. Cheers!🥃👍🇺🇸
That is a good bourbon especially for the price point.
Thanks Fred. I've spent alot of money on whiskey that have gone "wrong". LOL. Gotta get me a bottle o tub.
I have not found this in NY yet unfortunately. I have a feeling if it does hit the shelves it will be hard to find
I'm keeping my eyes peeled for it here in Upstate New York!
Awesome. Please COMPARE to Evan William's BiB
He did it in the $16-24 blind tasting. Both made top 5 I think. 👍
@@cliffordcawthon3916 Thank you. I will check that video out.
Dang dude, 3 bottles already? This just came out
I picked up a bottle for $21, I like it a lot, I got a lot of peanuts in the nose and taste
In Chicago I can't even find one bottle!
Robert Predl I’m in Chicago as well (south bulbs). I’ve seen it regularly at Binny’s and at Kenwood. Hope this helps you get your hands on a bottle.
the price on old tub is gonna go up. shhhhhhhh
Please don't sojourn your affectation on the word cornbread, my man. I know you're from the south, so don't pull that shit.
Its garbage at any price ! If u like ground up salted peanut shells with cheap bourbon stained thru it might be your jam
