That looks like some super expensive equipment. In my area the tank is pulled behind an ordinary tractor and the slurry is sprayed on the ground and disced in. It is simple and cost effective. Nice video. You must have a really good drone.
A well made video, I think if it was up to me I would use a tow behind Honeywagon. This looks like it would wear out rather quick and be prone to breaking down.
Seems like they're better off just having a purpose built tanker vehicles follow/lead the spreader than deal with all that hose that's going to fail after a couple spreads.

*Not legal in some countries, spraying allows the slurry to run-off into water ways and generates odor problems, injecting it into the soil is the solution to these issues.*
@@trevethan82319841 it would help, but the most effective way is to just not have it out there. Plus it allows a wider pass due to not having to drag as much weight with it. So if someone can deal with the logistical aspects of it, it’s a definite upgrade in most cases.
Add carbon to that slurry for and extreme increase in available minerals. Then use 1/4 of the amount or slurry per Ha. By carbon, I mean Lignite or Leonardite. It's no good adding ANY fertilizers without Carbon included. This has been the biggest mistake in Agriculture in 100 yrs. Even organic fertilizer eats the native carbon in you soil and therefore depletes the soil in time. I appreciate the attempts to move away from petro based inputs. But the sad truth is, this will deplete long term viability of the soil just the same. Use carbon with round up (if you must spray that). One teaspoon of Carbon per 10 liters water + 1/10th the usual amount of herbicide + mix to a ph of 2.9 - 3.0. It will work much faster and the residue of the chemicals will break down 1000 X quicker. Monsanto would never tell you that because sales would drop by 90%. BTW.. the atmosphere is almost 78% nitrogen... what made us think that putting it in the soil was the way to go?... Wow are you clearly overthinking this entire situation. The point is , cows shit !!! The shit needs removed and dumped !!! Rules govern on how its spread , this is one of the solutions. End of story
I think what he might be getting at is either adding char to the manure to help hold the nutrients in place till the plant needs it. Also if you can take the manure, remove the water and process that down to biochar, you will have so much less hauling of manure and you retain your nutrients better.
@@BollocksUtwat Wth does Monsanto have to do with any of this? Monsanto doesn't deal in fertilizers, and sure as shit doesn't tell farmers how to do their jobs. Society in general just seems to get a kick out of blaming Monsanto for everything.

This system is not convincing at all. The only reason I can think of is they are putting down so much slurry a tank would get empty too fast. Also with this system ofcourse the guy fertilizing can keep going. But it still takes 2 guys at the field. So how about instead have several tanks and one guy park a full tank at the end of the field and the guy doing the fertilizing change tank every X laps no matter if his tank is empty or not. Another reason I can think of for this system is soil is so soft that a full slurry tanker would weigh too much ... well put more wheels on then. Too me the benefits of this system must be very marginal. There must some reason instead that forces them to do it this way.
Changing regulations partially drove its introduction to the UK -- restrictions on when, where, and how the various fertiliser types [artificial ; slurry ;; manure ;; etc.] could be spread on the land. Tied in to that was the inability to operate according to prevailing ground conditions which has also been mentioned in the replies. You see quite a lot now in the dairy farming areas of the UK. It is mostly done by a stationary pump [either tractor or mains electric powered] on the main slurry store and pipework out to the injecting equipment on the tractor in the field. Also it is mostly done by contracted machinery + labour. I haven't a clue how long such equipment lasts, compared to its cost but farmers have notoriously short arms and deep pockets so it must be a cost effective way for them to operate..

Nice video. You must have a really good drone.
This method is actually more cost effective for big operations in countries that don't have low wages, but the initial investment is a lot higher.
Oliver Mayo splash plates and wagging tails releases a lot more methane in to the air and also lots of nutrients are lost
Theo Price splashing it on the ground has a too high water contamination chance for the netherlands so its forbidden here
Good question, I was wondering the same thing. And thanks for the answer all

This pipe injection system is mind blowing, combined with TS video's it's a master piece.
