Not really, it is too expensive if you're in the Philippines, but remember, the market is in Sydney, so the price will increase to live up to their daily expenses.
Guys, you must understand that monetary value is not based on the foreign exchange rate. To us, it may seem expensive because we literally look for the exchange rate immediately. However, she isn't in the Philippines and what she is eating could only be considered a novelty.
Also reflects the cost of living for the country, but on the other hand, the ingredients to make these dishes are pretty common, so are prices really that high in Sydney?
This is Australia now, we are all suffering with the cost of living. Most people wouldn’t and couldn’t pay $20 for a small meal just for themselves. She makes a lot of money from UA-cam but the average Australian is not making nearly as much for such luxury eating.
Aud $15 pork skewers for 3 of it? Thats like almost P200 per skewer. $16 beef pares is like P630 and that's small. Thats too expensive. Its not like the P100 (or $2.50) and its already overloaded with neat, unli soup, rice, and a free soda. Everything there is so expensive.
A free soda??? Mines Unli sodas... Unli Rice and some Places, unli pares😅 And lets not forget the 5$ Kwek-kwek Even with the prices there... Its just floor and water mixed and Quail eggs are dipped into that mixture and fried... Come on, FIVE DOLLARS???
This is definitely in Australia so expect it to have different prices. The pricing isn't bad it's almost the same price as food trucks. No way this is expensive just affordable.
Prices are expensive there since the ingredients and stall rental are also pricey. But here in the Philippines it doesn't cost much so the price doesn't cost that much at also. Same as Starbucks coffee and jolibee, based on a vlog I recently watched, it's cheaper here in Phil compare to US..
No way the food is expensive in there, taho is only P10 here in PH, kwek kwek is P15, Pares is at P80 but you can find lower prices at some place with some unlimited garlic rice in it.
It's in Australia what do you expect. There is so much there that adds to the cost - cost of living, probably hard to find ingredients, tax and regulations, etc...
San may taho na ₱10 kasi karamihan ₱20 na? Kwek kwek is ₱25, it's 2024 and we are also affected by the global inflation. I mean these are outrageous prices but remember wala din naman sya sa Pinas.
Guys difference price range, example here you can buy 10 peso for 1 egg there 10 dollars for 1 egg, not the true price just want to show the difference, it might look expensive to us because of the difference of peso to dollars but for them its cheap.
People are mind blown by these prices but forgot that the cost of living there are very different compared here in the PH.🤦♀️ Edit: SOME replies under this comment screams ignorance, damn…
The reason why the prices are high; is either inflation or dual pricing. In the Philippines, there are some cases that tourist only come there for the cheap prices, in order to stop it they increased the prices for tourists. Eg. Kwek-kwek for 4 pcs are only 20 pesos and it only costs 0.36 dollars. To increase it, the either increases it around 3-5 to dollars or its just the vendors who increases it.
the prices are crazyyy! $15 dollars is what you have to spend if u feed a family of 5 in an authentic filipino bbq. you can buy up to 40 pork bbq stick with that (less if u wanna have rice or drinks).
Bro, comparing the prices In the Philippines and Sydney are not even a comparison Even if we considered the difference of economy... Kwek-kwek made with water and flour mixture and Quail eggs are dipped and fried which cost 2 dollars to make them...thats a fking rip off man
I don't think she got ripped off. Those are just the prices in different countries. But it's a massive culture shock for local Filipinos like myself to see someone buy 1 snack for the price of 5kg worth of groceries in the Philippines
@@SimonIsVeryHandsome Simon, I have seen you reply to complain in every comment, however, I just want to let you know that there are a lot of things to consider for this. You can't possibly compare prices in the PH with AUS like that. It's not that simple. You'll have to consider the cost of living in Sydney, taxes and regulations, rent for a space in the market, cost of the imported ingredients, cost for the tent set-up, labor costs, the specialty of foreign cuisines, and more. In addition, different countries mean different economies. I'm sure the business owners have surveyed the reasonable price for the area. And consequently the locals found it affordable. So again, this is NOT the Philippines. And you cannot possibly expect the same price, unless you do business for loss (and not profit) and you just wanted to rot in a foreign, unfamiliar country. Remember, these are just fellow Filipinos trying to make a living. I hope you remember that next time.

The pork skewers, ears & intestines, kwek kwek quail eggs, squid, beef pares goes well when eaten with plain rice or garlic flavoured plus the tahu or tofu with sago balls & sugar syrup.
