I'm so glad they still have the dipstick for transmission fluid!

💥✨💥 I’ve been told for 40 years to check motor oil when hot. I think it even says so on the dipstick on most cars. Thanks for the video

hot or running is usually the tranny, Engine is usually cold or after sitting OFF for at least 30min,,,this gives the oil time to settle down for proper measuring

Mines has a percentage for oil in the l gauge cluster

@@toishingao176 💥 Absolutely……. NOT. Horrible advice. You shut off a hot engine, Pop the hood, pull out the stick, wipe it off, stick it back in then read the level. All of that is way more than enough time for the oil to drain back to the pan.
Obviously, you have never pulled off the drain plug on a motor with hot oil

@@Jimmy_Cavallo For the Honda Odyssey, the manual says that you check the level when the oil is at operating temperature, but you have to wait for 3 minutes after shutting the engine off before checking the level.

@@arifkhokar6588 it shouldn’t take 3 minutes for hot oil to make its way back down to the oil pump.

Low braking fluid can also mean you have worn out pads. As the pads wear out, the braking pistons move further, taking more fluid with them.

not necessarily, this brake pads from now are not as thick as they use to be, this are thin to begging with and the piston travel distance is not much even when pads are worn down..

The 2015 model absolutely has a dipstick, but it doesn’t have the traditional pull type handle like an oil dipstick. It’s deeper down in the engine bay and it looks like a hook. Always check when warm, parked, and engine off.

So why you don't show practically to check transmission fluid?.

    • @kaipakta817

The car takes ~15 minutes to reach operating temperature which is required to properly take/measure transmission fluid. It is essentially the same as checking oil you just do it while the engine is hot and running.

My 2015 DOES NOT HAVE A DIPSTICK, (manual says to take to the dealer for checking) yea, I bet this is not free....The way I been told and the way I do Hondas, (that have a dipstick) you must DRIVE vehicle for at least 15miN or more,,,it makes no difference if you drive it for 15 min or 15 hours, you just need to drive it for at leas 15min,,,and NO I don't meant just park and running for 15min...when you park it, you let it sit for about 2-3 minutes and wait for oil to settle back down, and then you proceed to check it with the dipstick (CAREFULL, THIGS ARE HOT AT THIS POIT) bee really careful, AND PLEASE, PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU KEEP YOUR HANDS AWAY FROM THE FANS, AND ALL HOT HOSES ,,,IF YOU REMEMER TURN OFF A/C BEFORE YOU TURN OFF VEHICLE, this might help to keep fans off, but still not 100% safe.

Wrong that not how you check transmission fluid on Honda

Transmission fluid level for an Odyssey is checked with the fluid hot and the engine OFF! Read the owner's manual before you make a video!
