Am I impressed?? Yes! Very good demonstration of how to cut aluminum on a table saw. Thank you, now I'm going to go find your miter saw demo, because my next project involves that!
a guy in a mechanic shop I worked in got a tiny piece of metal in his eye that came off a chisel being sharpened on a grinder by someone else. He wasn't wearing safety glasses as he was on the other side of a big shop and was just doing something innocuous. He lost the use of the eye, had horrible headaches, loss of concentration. That caused him to forget to torque the bolts on a 5th wheel plate, resulting in a 53' trailer coming off a truck while going down the highway (no one injured, trailer and truck remained in straight line in one lane). This resulted in him losing his job. I now wear safety glasses in a shop as soon as I walk in, no matter what I am doing. (reading glasses type safety glasses when needed as well).
Same thing to a plumber friend. Got a wire from a wire wheel in hes eye from across the construction site. Lost his eye. Can't be to careful!
If your table saw develops issues after cutting aluminum in the electric motor. You already had an issue the aluminum just became the soapy water on an air leak. Run a vacuum and clean your equipment with pressurized air or a toothbrush after you are done. Cutting sheet aluminum on a table saw.... well it doesn't. Just use shears or if its thin enough sometimes I'll use regular household scissors to cut it. Although any shearing cutter will leave a pattern in the cut unless you've polished your blade. Don't throw away or especially store sawdust and aluminum shavings. Aluminum reacts with oxygen easily making aluminum oxide. Aluminum oxide is an excellent oxidizer and a primary ingredient in HME/IEDs. So storing it with a potential fuel (sawdust) might not be a good idea. Just sweep/vacuum (with a clean bin/bag) it all up and throw it in the recycling inside it's own plastic bag. Not so nuch the chips but the fine powder that's occasionally created.
I've been cutting hundreds of 45 cm lengths of 5 mm aluminum for years. On my Harbor Freight tablesaw. No problems with that, just need a new blade (or having the old one sharpened) from time to time. Just keep things clean and you're good.
Great video
Thanks for the visit
I missed the live stream 😔 Can you please share the link for cutting aluminum on a miter saw??

Thanks for this helpful video. Want to let you know that this blade does come in the 7-1/4 inch size. Just bought one at Home Depot.
