    One tip from my experience, control two things to safeguard against failures associated with your Calcium reactor: CO2 and feed pump. If your controller tells your solenoid to close because the pH in your reactor (OR YOUR TANK!) is plummeting and it doesn’t close…. Solenoids can potentially fail open. For your tank I guess you’ll have to have a line of code on your main return pump that will shut it off if the pH in the reactor or the pH in your tank get very low. I usually use a dedicated feed pump so in the event this occurs the rest of my life support system, including heat and filtration, continue to run as normal.

    Richard I think it is worth noting at 1:48 "*depending on the media" or "for some media". Some media they recommend an ever lower pH of 6.0 and some medias claim they'll dissolve at a much higher pH.
