I've noticed, as a right handed guitarist, that watching lessons by lefties is easier for me, as its like a mirror and I position my fingers naturally on my guitar just by watching you do it. We need more left handed teaches haha
Dude, your video is the best one to learn from over all the other ones I've just been watching for this particular song. No talking, explains, nothing!!! Just a watch n learn style is pretty much your method AND I've already got it mastered fluently with its natural strumming rhythm. Thank you so much.
+Questhobson Thank you! I try really hard with my videos, and I think it's so important to learn by observing and listening rather than just having everything explained. Glad I could help you.
A METRONOME. Thank you so much. I've been watching other tutorials and all of their rhythms suck because they don't use a metronome. Thanks for the quick and accurate tutorial. Keep using that metronome. Makes you much better as a player

I found this video by accident, and glad I did, because I'm a left handed guitarist who LOVES Alice In Chains. Thanks so much. Good tutorial! Nice job!
LeftHandedGuitarist Yeah thanks again. I'm looking more deeply at your channel, excellent. I learned "Nutshell" in only an hour from your video, of course, I can keep playing it to get it better, and learn to sing it--that's always a good challenge too.
Thank you so much for the beginner nutshell. Im having to start all over with learning how to play guitar due to bad habits from childhood. Please add a beginner tutorial for the solo. Only know starlndard tuni g and I play by ear. Any alice in chains songs. Espeacially junkhead, sunshine, down in a hole, bleed the freak, ober now, and rooster. Love stone temple pilots songs as well as nirvana. Im learning my chords and trying to understand chord charts. I was able to follow along with this easily because of the charts. Thank you again. Been through some traumatic situations and this os great therapy for me.
So just to be clear, on the one strum G/B chord, you are not playing the G note at the 3rd fret of the top E string with your thumb? It looks like your thumb is freting the note in the video. Great video by the way. @@LeftHandedGuitarist
I've been trying to get the strumming pattern right for hours now but i simply don't get it! I've been slowing the video down, listening to both this one and also tje original song. I got half of it right until Cadd9 is played and then Em7. So frustrating. Help please?
I always thought watching a left-hand player was easier to learn because we are mirroring each other.. when I was a beginner I always wish when players did tutorials the camera would be placed up above looking down at the guitar
em7 uD D D g/b D U d DuD cadd9 D DduD D ok nvm i give up writing it down if someone else can do this pls do bc i have the down i just cant get the strumming pattern am tryin doe
Watch my hands and listen closely! It's far better if you work this stuff out yourself, it's not difficult. Start by tapping rhythms out with your hands on a table to get a feel for it. Write down what your doing and figure out how to split them into sensible downstrokes/upstrokes. Or somebody in these comments might have already written out the pattern :p
I appreciate your lesson but why wouldn’t you tell us what we need to tune our guitar to. I know it’s tuned down but take five seconds and let everyone know what the tuning is please. I jumped off your lesson because of that . Sorry but very frustrating

Same, it so easy watching left hand.
Oh heck yes!!! I agree, its superb :-)
And the way he implements the tutorial visually, is so effective. Bravo
I deff agree A real simple lick I almost had it for six months until I watched a lefty know I have it down pat best of luck guys
You just opened my eyes, thanks man!

of course, the best all around video for this is by a lefty.
Hell thats better for righties to learn though. I’m a lefty and I love watching/playing with righties. Just like playing in a mirror.
Way better than that Marty guy
I found this video by accident, and glad I did, because I'm a left handed guitarist who LOVES Alice In Chains. Thanks so much. Good tutorial! Nice job!

I love how all the tutorials on this just say screw the strumming pattern
Thank you so much for this great tutorial.
Right-handed guitar player here.
I won't hold that against you! :p
I just found out that it's easier to learn by watching left-handed guitarists. :)
Since the last time I watched fake plastic trees from here, you really got appetite for sad song man!
Thanks for this, awesome work dude!
Best nutshell chording I've seen so far the pull off and strumming is on point great job buddy

"Nutshell" 6 strings Bass version here: ua-cam.com/video/lHxgRejEDbE/v-deo.html
Looks like he covers the G note with his thumb but it does not show up on the chord diagram
Correct, the X on the diagram indicates that the string is not played and I achieve this through damping it with my thumb.
So just to be clear, on the one strum G/B chord, you are not playing the G note at the 3rd fret of the top E string with your thumb? It looks like your thumb is freting the note in the video. Great video by the way. @@LeftHandedGuitarist
@@PetePuma25 That's exactly right. Glad you found the video helpful!
Thank you ssssoooo much!!
Thank you!!! I originally learned to play right handed because thats what my dad is but it turned out im actually a lefty.
It happens to a lot of us. Bring out your inner lefty!

Woooow wait, i got it. It's a bit different from yours but it works! I made my own natural little pattern :)

LeftHandedGuitarist and THANKS so much for ALL your work bro..

Nice guitar (Y)
Gracias
i've learned the chords im just stuck with the ability to make a fast transaction can someone please give me a tip about that
Sorry but when I tune a half step down, to play along with the song, do the chords stay the same?
Yes, you keep playing the same chord shapes.
"Alright, my guitar is tuned down, lets do this"
*leftie changes chords*
"Aaaaand ya lost me."

I can't understand the strumming pattern. If you can help me, I will be very grateful.
How do we know the strumming patterns?

and that is how i learned a song withing the time it took to make my chicken noodles

@@LeftHandedGuitarist very beautiful music! I really like it
Imagino que solo hiciste el vídeo para enseñar los acordes porque vas muy fast to forius
i cannot for the life of me get down the tempo/meter, its so frustating
Weeeeeeeeeeeieeee
At least put out the strumming pattern in
Honestly? That does not sound right.
I appreciate your lesson but why wouldn’t you tell us what we need to tune our guitar to. I know it’s tuned down but take five seconds and let everyone know what the tuning is please. I jumped off your lesson because of that . Sorry but very frustrating
The tuning is described right at the start of the video.
