CAREFUL viewers. Several pictures included in this video are NOT of Québec city (although most are). Some pictures of the landscape, of museums and of the parliament show elements from other cities in Canada. The audio commentary is pretty accurate most of the time, but the video editing is bad, some pictures are not shown at the same time as they are mentioned...
The most striking to me was the "Saint-Lawrence River" shots where they show the Thousand Islands area, located about 500km (300 miles) away from Quebec City. Another funny one is the "Trait-Carre Charlesbourg" while describing the Fudgerie in Quartier Petit-Champlain. The Trait-Carre is a very distinct area worth visiting, also in Quebec City but totally unrelated to the Petit-Champlain.
When describing the fortifications, they slip in a photo of a skyscraper as an example of one of the "towers" -- a skyscraper that isn't even in Quebec City.
Very interesting video but unfortunately the editing was bad in my opinion. I'm a local and I can tell that most of the images are really unrelated to Quebec City itself. But other than that, thank you for promoting this unique gem of North America!
One hour from Quebec city to Charlevoix region , you may watch 13 species of whales from the biggest animal on earth , the bue whale to Belugas ... Mountains , fjord ( Saguenay ) good food , Club Med ( Le Massif ) , Emu farms to art galleries , Baie St Paul , Castle life at the Manoir Richelieu ... world class vacation, culture , history ( 1534) and best food in a safe environment
The Quebecois are a warm friendly people as long as tourists aren't arrogant and expect them to speak English. Many don't or are not fluent. Most do in the touristy areas.
Where the heck did you dig up the pic at 3:38? This room is NOT part of the Québec Parliament LOL wtf But it's a nice, inviting video overall. Hope it inspires people to come see us!
so how is the experience for non French speaking visitors? are there any real practical difficulties in navigating the city, shopping, food and others?
Quebec City relies a LOT on the tourist industry, so most of the people you will meet there will know English. All the restaurants in the busy area have an English menu, the exhibits will have information in French and English. If you know just a few words in French the people will become even friendlier. Things like "Bonjour, ça va bien?", "Au Revoir" and the curse word "Tabernacle" (pronounce Ta-bar-nak) will make a difference in your day, even if spoken with a strong accent. I hope you get to visit and enjoy your stay.
I leave on Quebec City. You will be well received in English. Please learn some basic French expression and people will be even more pleased to serve you.
@@theblackstar8076 Sorry, it's not true that 90% of the population speaks English fluently here. My parents and most of my friends (even if they have many years of University studies) don't really mange English. But if you speak slowly and ask simple things, you might find somebody who can help you.

The Musée de l'Amérique Française, the museum of Champlain at Place Royale, the fudgerie and the umbrelas up the Cul-de-Sac street don't exist anymore. 😉
At least there was an attempt. There was none on your part to understand that an accent doesn't have to be perfect, it has to be understood. And you knew exactly what they were talking about.
Great video, but Québec is pronounced “Kay-beck” and Île D’Orléans is “ill d’or lay en”, and not like New Orleans. Also, I know we pronounce Dufferin with a French accent, but Lord Dufferin was British, so you can pronounce it in English “duff rin”.
