Fatty Wombat wants to play!

- During a cool morning shower by a brave ranger, this chubby Wombat (26 kilo's!!) is in for either an innocent play or a deadly attack! First time I've ever seen a Jumping Wombat anyway!

Based on the sound of the slap, wombats are small boulders covered in fur.
They can survive collisions with moving traffic.
Yup. They're very solid. Pretty much just bone, cartilage and muscle. Lots of muscle.
Alex Panciera I got bums of *STEEL!*
Wombats have a cartilage plate protecting their big ole’ rumps. A butt shield.
As has been mentioned, their defense of choice involves sealing their burrow with their butt, which has a thick cartilage shield that none of their normal predators can bite through.
By Australian standards, this is a harmless, gentle animal.
Unlike the Drop Bear, Australia's most dangerous creature!
Rarely kills humans.. never for fun. Only when it has to.
I laughed pretty hard at that.
Was thinking the same thing tbh.
@@maciejguzek3442 aus bunny
He says he "plays rough". Wombats are very powerful with strong claws, they live in the ground like a rabbit. I've held one and patted one at a wildlife park, they are all muscle like a little bulldozer.
👍👍👍👍
One time I caught an eel it was writhing in my hands :
And I could feel the pure power of the fish - It was about 1ft *
Fish are pretty much nothing but muscle
@@subg8858 is that why there is so much protein in tuna?!
"little bulldozer" 😍
They're like giant hamsters.
AHAHAHA true
:( no were not
Little Fat Wombat
Hahaha :D
Nah man, Guinea Pigs.
Or like a cross between a bear and a pig.
judging by the videos i've seen seen, it looks like wombats are really playfull animals, but they seem to be really rough players too... it's amazing that something so small can be that strong
They are from Australia, nothing is impossible.
The baby wombats are very playful. When they grow up they can be super aggressive and territorial. You can't keep them as pets because they destroy everything and burrow into everything. Their teeth are so strong they can bite through lots of stuff
@@doryfishie2 The trouble is i heard it is illegal to re-release them into the wild if they have been raised in captivity only because they don't fair well at all if that happens. They will die without human assistance as adults, and don't think they have figured out yet is rehabilitation for the wild is even possible with them.
The videos i have seen of them show them to adorable as babies, and then as teens and adults they have a very strong will, so they won't stop if they want something, and as you said they can chew through most household materials baring metal, ceramic, and they are like little bulldozers pushing everything in the house around, all the cupboards that are unlocked are fair game, all the shelves, cushions, towels, sheets, laundry, books, it is all going on the floor or being pushed around where they want it that day.
They can bite but if they love the person they can be taught not to bite hard, but even then they will still nibble. Their front teeth are like a beavers, seem very related to me actually coming from a place with beavers, those front teeth are designed for burrowing animals, cutting through big tree roots, etc. In the wild I think they basically bulldoze all day dens, and so they do the same in your home.
So once you have one it is a 25-30+ year commitment from baby to adult to raise an animal that unlike dogs, or cats, is gonna turn your house upside down on the regular, and there is not much you are gonna be able to do to stop it, cause if they don't find something to be pushing around, then something worse will happen, ie better they are pushing your linen/towel cupboards out regularly, then they decide to burrow a den into your wall, or your bed... they are social though, so they form bonds, etc...
They ain't even that small. This one is, but adults get to be around 3.5-4ft long. Packed solid muscle. They are incredible!
@@Arrogan28 no one likes you
Close quarters wombat
Ha!
.... you’re pretty good...
I feel like this comment isn't appreciated enough
♥️👍♥️👍
For anyone claiming animal abuse, i work with these guys and you are taught to push them back on the head with your foot when they charge you. They often get hit by cars and simply walk away, they're incredibly robust... They get up to 35kg too, this guy will grow a fair bit more
They sound tough!
weichiang89 If your a wombat sees your car coming and you hit its backside, your car becomes a writeoff and they walk away. Wombats have buns of fucking steel.
wombats are basically bricks covered in fur they may look fluffy and squishy but those damn things are pure muscle. update: they also apparently have an armored ass which they slam into predators with enough force to fracture a dogs skull do not fuck with wombats they have weaponized twerking!! I wish I was making that up seriously look it up for yourselves.
cars look both ways when wombats cross the road
You need a little negative reinforcement or disclipine to tell him "No" to his playful behavior.
That's a pretty small package for something weighing 26 kg.... Just shows how dense and robust these creatures are built!
Like a furry cannonball
Yeah, I would never have guessed 26 Kg ! That's quite impressive, seems much more dense than a human.
Mate their called the Outbake Dozer or D10 an they don’t make good house pets.
Thanks for sharing
Paul
Indeed !
I’d rather hit a roo with my car than one of these guys. These things will send you airborne if they get under your tire

@@decespugliatorenucleare3780 I would like to order 40,000, please.
that belly rub almost guaranteed the guy wont be able to finish his job
Wombat combat. How they've survived this long boggles the mind. Far too cute.
👍👍👍👍
They're an extremely dense mass of muscles and bones according to my highschool bio teacher. He may just be exaggerating but he said that getting hit by a car is more of a petty nuisance to them than anything serious.
it's not unheard of for them to totally wreck a modern car and walk away
What an adorable little creature! I wouldn't be able to resist petting him.
Same!!
@cris really!? I know nothing about them. That's crazy! So you're saying they don't make for a good pet....lol
@@brianweatherman1207 Heelll naah. dem lil devil are wild animal. dey cut af but they bite and play rough
@@billylee4460 well that little turd did look like he was playing rough as hell. Thanks!!
♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
Listen to how he sounded when he pat on him, you could hear how solid through little guy is,..it's too hilarious, he's so determined,..caretaker is like,."dude, I'm trying to work here, I'm working right now!, I don't have time to play around, we'll play later!", and it's so funny, little guy was like, I'm gonna be eating later, I won't have time, you know that, your gonna feed me!, we're having a scheduling problem!, let's play now!!, now, now, now, now, now!",..told ya'll, animals are a trip,..Godspeed, long healthy, happy life to this darlin, and all his kind, and the caretakers that care for them, whose care they're entrusted to,..
For those wondering, wombats are little tanks, its why the keeper can seemingly be so rough with them because they're basically indestructible. I imagine the tourists are like "wow all Australians have to fight 26 little tanks everyday" and yes we do.
YES!YES!
Who cares
Had a friend work at the zoo with these, he said you could pretty much punch them and they would just go "oh this guy is fun" and play even rougher with you.
"I'm not fat ,I'm just fluffy"
+ธนานันต์ ธรรมโหร YES!!!!!
Which is actually true in wombats' case. They don't store fat.
BuzzKill go
Fluffy, fluff, fluff

When you're trying to tidy, and your 50 lb teddy bear comes to life and wants to play.
My cat is just like this, never leaves me alone, always at my feet.
Mine made me kiss the floor once.
Must be a siamese.
Mine's the same, he's chubby, grey, and the wife calls him wombat. Minus the tail he looks just like this one. Obsessed with my feet too!
Considering the dangerous wildlife of Australia, that wombat is probably going to mug him.
if u go in its hole it'll block the entrance by sitting there and try to suffocate u
The wombat won't hurt to much but the drop bears in Australia will kill you.
+epic beardface It's hard to tell them from a Koala, which gives them the element of surprise......
+epic beardface we have bears?
+Maw Tem No we have drop bears.
WOMBAT COMBAT!
ZECTCustomUnit MORTAL WOMBAT X
Or combat wombat :DDD
this comment made me laugh
Its little jumps are so cute ! 😂💖
"Oh my God! What happened to you? Did someone mugged you?
No, honey. I tripped over a wombat."
This is animal abuse! That wombat is playing far too rough with the delicate prairie ape.
lol

+Magnus Webb You win.
+Magnus Webb Genius
Prairie ape...I am stealing this.
26 kilos of cuteness
By the looks of his persistence, I think he more than wants to play.
👍👍👍
I love how the keeper just gives up and gives in halfway through the video
So stinking cute! And a big brat to boot! 🤣 love these little tanks!

Brb, watering mud...
Lol
😂😂
Mess with wombat, you'll get defeated in combat
What a jolly little fellow.
Still, I wouldn't like to get bitten by one....
I never thought wombats are serial needy bunch.😂
Aww He's so adorable. That wombat looks so cuddly. Of course, that doesn't take away from the fact that wombats are wild animals that should be respected and treated with care and caution.
Nope, they'd gladly eat us and our babies if we were below them in food chain, they're alive because we allow them to, they should respect us or perish
Who's that Pokemon?
It's Bidoof! :)

It wants to play!! This is common with them. They love the affection and the belly rubs.
I spend one solid hour with my dogs everyday (before and after their dinner time). All 3 of us treasure this moment. They look forward to it much like this wombat and this person.
They're some of the most stubborn animals too.
26kg = 57.2lbs
that thing looks like a pokemon!!!

It does look like a Pokemon but too cute. Didn't we already have a Pokemon called wombat I think.
RESPECT MY AUTHORITAH!!!!!
👍👍👍
Cute little guy needs a friend to play with; the groundskeeper has his job to do and doesn't have time to play. Wombats are wild animals but seem like they might make good pets. No matter what, this particular wombat is adorable.
All animals can be pets, as long as u kill off aggressive ones and only allow docile ones to reproduce
Apparently they make very bad pets -- they burrow and chew through anything they see.
@@beeble2003 My sister runs a petting zoo in East Texas. They have 2 of them. You're right, they'll tear just about anything to pieces. But if they have plenty of space to play outside, they're pretty calm indoors. And they're surprisingly gentle with children.
what happens when you combine a puppy and a baby panda? --- you get a WOMBAT!!! WEEEEEEE!
No a Wombat is the product of a Koala and a Bunny :3
MadeAUsername LOL
You're all wrong, when you combine batman and superman you get wombat!
it look more like cat sized hamster afterall they have those rodent-like front teeth
Lo Cas Koala and oversized guinea pig

Thanks for sharing guys

Too adorable!! ; D That little hop is too cute omgosh - i couldn't resist wanting to spoil him with affection.
Sure they're playful but they are aggressive whilst doing so, My friends dad worked with them his co-worker was playing with one & it bit the tip of his finger off, you could see the bone
@@Stuart267 Sorry about ur friend's dad - that's why i said i "wanting" not actually "doing" it because i have common sense and know that not all animals are of the same temperament. Not all cats are friendly, dogs, rats, hamsters, etc.... I totally get it. Altho of course there are very friendly animals of all types and i naturally would ask questions / test the waters before i ever engage in anything physical right off the jump. I have pets and they are very sweet. I tamed their asses. ; D Hope all is well in ur world dude!
@@cherish9493 Well your wiser than I am. I try & pet animals all the time, a chicken tore my fingernail out by the root. The other chickens were picking on it & I shooed them, now I understand why, the little turd
@@Stuart267 Oh no!! Not the fingernail by the root - that must've been painful. Yeah maybe u should sit this one out... maybe just sprinkle bird seed and not touch... ; D admire from afar.... love from a distance .. : D lol - hope ur fingernail healed up.
It probably also has something to do with keeping the wombat cool enough. Watering the dirt cools it down, gives the lil guy something to dig comfortably.
If that wombat was doing that to me, it would be in danger of being snuggled profusely!!!
The wombat dance ladies and gents where they won't give up till you dance with them 😂😂😂😂😍
♥️♥️♥️♥️
Wombat wins !
W O M B A L I T Y !!!
Wombat's are built like a honey badger with an extra layer of armor plating under their skin.
It must have been not so funny, with naked legs and wombat claws that can dig up to 1m³ of earth out of the ground in one night. But for the "outstanding watcher" it looks cute!
Wombats love to play biting games so I am not sure I would hang around.
When they are with each other they often bite each other but because their hides are so thick they don't really feel anything.
We thin skinned humans on the the otherhand tend to bleed easily.
Такой ласковый и милый! 🥰
Australia has really odd weather at times, so if you see someone wetting dirt or grass its usually since a hot day is to come so it helps negate some water loss.
I want to hug that lovely kid!
MORTAL WOMBAT!!!

touche
Whoa, he’s a little bigger than my cat but over 3 times the weight! Solid indeed
That's THE SAME THING I TELL my wife when she wants to get FRISKY
Looks like the wombat is just trying to hit him with its nose. It hasn’t used it’s claws at all. Doesn’t seem to be trying to bite either. Yes, definitely playing.
Well, now I want to be a zoo keeper.
Да возьмите его на ручки!!!)
Так он весит кг так под 30.
What a playful lil chonker ! 😀
everybody loves a belly rub!
Fatty says, "why you runnin?"
I love wombats
Oh that is just the cutest baby!❤️❤️❤️
ohhh so cute and playful!
When my family visited Australia they went to a petting zoo that had one and my mother missed the sign where it warned interactions with the wombat but it was pretty content with her feeding it food.
He was so very cute.
That Wombat is a boss lol, gotta love that guy
That wombat wants to wrestle, you should've body slammed it
+drsnowmon Yeah, good luck picking the thing up.
I love wombats :)
There used to be wombats as big as rhinos. I want one of those.
Diprotodon or something like that
UA-cam reccomendations bringing us together once again.
He wants to play, but he plays rough.
Reminds me of my cat, like, "I know you want to play and you're very cute but why must you play so rough? I'm made of soft fleshy stuff, don't you understand?!"
I really hope that man loves his job. I would love to work around animals :)
👍👍👍👍
Man.... 2011 seems like yesterday for me.
That's some fancy dancing🤣
They are sooooooooo cute!!!
I wish I could have 2 as pets!!!
Love those little guys…
Trying so hard to keep watering and not step on it. Really cute! (I also didn't know Wombats can be friendly at any point)
I just read a thing recently that said during the fires some wombats lead other animals into their burrows for safety 🤗
You have entered the mortal wombat arena.
He loves you 🤣🐾❤️
Almost 60 pounds! He's so cute!
they are really tough it seems.
very strong.
A fluffy jumping muscle ball. :D
