Fantastic van tour & I love your conversion kit! Your tips & tricks to adapt the kit to meet your needs are helpful too. It looks like a great kit for a solo traveller, but could also work for a couple too. Thank you & best wishes for your pup's surgery!
Roadloft is in Canada - French speaking folks - looks like from the website. Nice system and pricy. And if you're in a hurry to do a build there it is! I saw another presentation of the system and it does look pretty great.
Yes, they are a Canadian company. Their website converts to English well, and their customer service is superior to what I would expect. I used to think it was pricey too, until I weighted how much I would have spent in trial and error for different products to find the right set up and I never would have come up with something as functional and as quality as their product is. When I think of all the time and headache I saved, it doesn't seem so pricey. And I can move it to another vehicle if I change vehicles. I'll never want to get rid of it, but if I did, I could sell it with very little depreciation. Thanks for your comment!
I'm glad you found me too! I'm from Lincoln, well, Valparaiso is actually where I lived until I was 18, then Lincoln. What part are the state are you in?
Hi from Australia 🙋♀️ Thankyou for sharing and going to so much effort showing us everything 🥰 love your Roadloft kit. Hope I can order this from Aus 💜
The bench compartment drawers are 10.5 inches by 21.5 inches. This is the measurement inside the drawer with the top on. The bench follows the contour of the floor so it sits level. On one side, it has a height of 13.75 and the other side 15. Does that make sense?
I've been looking at kits and DIY so thanks for this video. With the two cushions in place, as you show it, what is the length of the bed, from back to end of second pad? I, too, want to be able to sit up inside. My hubby is 5'9" and I know hitting his head is going to be a deal breaker.
@@GypsyWander Sorry to be unclear and thank you for responding! I'm asking the length of your bed when you don't add all the cushions. I figure it's a full-size width, but I'm wondering what the length of the mattress is the way you use it. If this is still unclear, don't worry.
@virichter7214 that's about 52". I have my refrigerator in the space forward that and I put a pillow on top so I can sleep straight. I'm 5'5" so that gives me 67".
Hi! Great videos! I also have a Roadloft build. Question: Is the bench behind the seats stable enough to sit on without the mattress that they provide?
Oh yes, it's very stable. I don't use the cushion (mattress) part there because I sit up to high with that added height. It is quite comfortable to sit and work at even without the cushion.
I gave a deposit for my future Road loft kit. Planning to get it at the beginning of May 25. I will keep your video in case I need more information on how to install it. Pertaining to your toilet... There no hole in the cover and the side don't seem solid enough to allow someone to put their legs. Well, your toilet confuses me.
@mireilledionne218 that's awesome! So exciting. I got mine in May also, but in 2023! Did you use coupon code GypsyWanderCozy? You'll get a free cozy kit!
@mireilledionne218 opps, just saw the rest of your message. If you need help with installation, let me know. The toilet is 2 parts. The base opens up and has an insert that you push flat against the bottom (floor). Then, the toilet lid is just like a normal toilet seat with a lid to close. It's really sturdy. Rated to hold 400 pounds!
Hi there @mireilledionne218, I wanted to see if you got my message about using the code GypsyWanderCozy for your order. If you want RoadLoft will add it to your order so you get the free cozy kit, but I need to get your permission for them to add it. It will not change your pricing at all, you will just get the free cozy kit with your order. Let me know! Catina
Did you keep the seats from the van? Is it hard to remove the back ones? I wonder if they could be folded down and just lose that storage area. I have a 2006 and the middle seats come out pretty easily but not the third row.
They were really simple to remove. Just pop the plastic covers off and remove the bolts. I donated them because I will not turn those van back into a passenger van. I've also removed my passenger seat.
It's Marine-grade poplar wood, so it's light weight but very strong. It's nice to not have the extra weight for gas mileage, plus it's just easier to handle too. I plan to use it for lots of years. It is a high quality product. I did a lot of research because for me $5k is a big expense and it is something I'm going to live with everyday. I wanted to make sure it didn't have anything toxic especially since I'm sleeping in an enclosed space. There is nothing that rattles or makes noise as I go down the road either, which is nice. Little noises, rattles or squeaks drive me nuts to hear when I am driving. I'm very happy with it. If you use my link and also use coupon code REF-GypsyWander you will get a Free Cozy Decorating Kit with your order.
No way is that worth 5K. You have no room to move around in, only sleep. How would you use a toilet inside if you needed to ? What if it’s raining? Where are you cooking then. I guess this would be good for a single person who couldn’t build anything themselves.
I love it. I have a collapsible toilet I use at night. I sit at the table and work, even when it's raining. The kitchen is in the back. The drawers pull out and give you a place for a stove and sink.
They now sell a conversion kit, where you can transform your double kit for a single kit. Cost about 400$ Prices are in CDN$, therefore should become more economic for our American neighbors due to the exchange rate
