I dont know if you have been to Wembley but its huge and the atmosphere is amazing. It also has the most famous sport played there so i think its the best. MCG is ok but it isnt Wembley!
@piesfan3 the mcg is probebly the best oval stadium in th world but it is not suitable for football wembley only holds 10 thousand less and its a football ground not a bluddy cricket pitch. if australia get the world cup the olympic stadium in sydney will host the final. with the redevelopment it will hold 90 thousand people and the it will be rectangular with a retractable roof.
cant even compare the atmosphere. Wembley locks in the noise with its roof. It's defining. MCG is a good stadium, but it isnt in the same league as Wembley, Cowboys Stadium or a few others around the world. Probably the best in Australia though.
mate are you kidding me Wembley is fantastic dont get me wrong,i would say the only stadium that beats it is this one here. Untill you get to the M.C.G you will never feel the auror that it possesses as you take your seat, you feel 150 years of history, its amazing mate, theres some things in life that are certain and the mcg being the best stadium in the world is one of them
That probably would happen but yuck! I love the MCG but that would be horrible for footy and cricket, especially the shelter. Having parts of the ground slightly taller or otherwise different to others adds character to the ground, keeps it unique and interesting, otherwise it will look like Etihad. As for the modernisation well any history that the MCG has will be f-cked if they get the games and/or do that. The place is absolutely fantastic as it is now but upgrades like that will ruin it...
Best Stadium in the World, bar's that over look the playing arena and the Australian sports museum inside the ground its that big to name a few.
@affidi yes, they are :)
I would never forget the match between Iran and Australia for WCQ 1998 which was taken place here
@darkhawk1979 i mean that a baseball stadium
i remember the date it was rd 22 on a friday Richmond VS Carlton.
@affidi You mean "That's no cricket ground, it's a space station."
does anyone know if theres a youtube video on the scoreboard fire at the MCG?

The MCG is bigger, & I don't think Wembley can beat the atmosphere Bay 13 make during the Cricket, or the atmosphere on AFL Grand Final day.

It's a pity that BCCI can't make such stadiums in India, being the richest cricket board

Wembley has got nothing on the MCG. & I believe Wembley Stadium was built by a Australian company.

I disagree, you've never been to the MCG on AFL Grand Final day or for a big game it's deafening.
thats not a cricket ground
