Hmmmmm, I managed to bleach and color my hair myself from age 14 to age 65, with no drama or disasters. My best learned advice: If you can’t follow instructions and aren’t a chemist, learn to love your natural color OR save your $$$ for a good and talented hairdresser.
Me too, but im 33 lol I did do some tafe courses when younger though so I did learn about hair. Sadly these women seem to be colouring their hair so frequently that its not virgin hair which is their biggest mistake. They have no patience
Not every hair can handle bleach and chemical treatments. I have had damage and breakage from keratin treatment and highlight. I have fine, wavy almost black hair but a lot of it. My hair can’t handle it. Some people don’t like to hear “not for you”.
bleach is so dangerous- I'm amazed everyone can buy it freely. I remember 13-year-old me ruining her hair because I had no idea what I was doing and back than UA-cam wasn't a thing, so there were no instructions or hair fails as a warning. It should at least be age restricted. Because a lot of these girls seem to be very young and you can damage your skin, scalp and eyes. It's not just a cosmetic issue.
I’ve only been licensed a bit over a year and I found myself at a cuts only company when I really aspired to do color. I am SO GLAD I found your channel before doing coloring in a salon because I’ve learned more from your real-time experience than I ever learned in beauty school. So a huge THANK YOU ❤️
I learned more about color after I got licensed than I did in school. I also continually learn. The knowledge we have today compared when I got licensed in 2004 is immense. Also, the products are so much better and precise. Then you've got things like Olaplex available which have changed the game for a lot of my clients and I. Natural level 4 that goes platinum and has never lost a strand of hair.
Tell me if this is true. Don't you have to have some natural talent to do hair along with your training and education? I think a good stylist is almost as important as a doctor. I have a wonderful stylist that gives me a pixie cut, a little longer on the top, with highlights. I don't think I could do what a stylist does.
So happy I watch you. I went to a new salon yesterday. I wanted a pixie cut and hair colored that lovely silver color. I understood everything they were doing and at one point was able to help with a color question. It came out beautifully! It goes perfect with my skin tone. I’ve received so many compliments. I would only have a professional do this process. 😊
I really need to find a good hair professional that I trust. It always feels nice to get a new cut and color. Too bad we can't post pics, I'd love to see your new hair style and color.
It almost physically hurts me when people freshly bleach their hair and then BRUSH it out when it’s still WET! No, no, NO! Comb through your damp hair GENTLY with a wide tooth comb, please!😢 I hope this doesn’t come off as purely judgement, because I promise you, I am speaking from experience also!😅
I know how you feel my health and pain etc is why I can’t do hair dressing as a full time job anymore 😢 it’s heart breaking cos I enjoyed it as a job so much.
Lots of people have already said this, but I wish you'd address the importance of not brushing wet hair (especially for hair that isn't super curly). It's super fragile when it's wet, and when that's compounded with the damage from bleach, it's just going to snap off easier! Especially when some of these women and girls just yank a brush through their tangles straight after bleaching it
I learned so much from HB videos that I was able to save most of my hair after a bad chemical cut. Funny thing is I went to a professional to bleach my hair, but got better results doing it myself while following your advice. Thanks for all you do 💕
Was talking to my hairdresser during a service, we were talking about the current fad colors, she is brilliant colorist, and discourages that silver-gray color… I have not done chemical processes in years, I have one nice gray streak and a few other grays scattered. I earned those gray hairs, and I’ll flaunt them.
Anne Chandler 👍👏You go girl flaunt those suckers 😂You've got an awesome hairdresser, it's worse trying to bleach really dark hair to get it to a light enough level for silver coloring
"Luckily I have really thick hair so I've got plenty to play with" 😳 I have a lot of grey and EVERY hairdresser I've ever been to here (in Italy) has wanted to dye it. Noooooooo way. I was every colour of the rainbow in my teen years in the 80s. I love my grey hair!!!
As someone with fine hair, this is my worst nightmare. I'm currently growing out my bleach (that a professional did because lol no, I don't trust myself to not do what these gals did). The bleached parts are definitely more prone to breakage in the last inch or so. I carefully dust my hair in between 2-3 trims a year and use plenty of conditioner and rarely use heat. If I treated my hair the way a lot of these girls seem to (heat styling all the time, dyeing and bleaching and dyeing), I'd have no hair left!
I used to get massive amounts of hair when I brushed it when it was really long. I have very thick red hair, and I swear I could have made a wig from all the hair I brushed from my hair. It was all natural, because I never did anything chemical to it. I finally went pixie short and love it. No more massive amounts of hair lost anymore.
My hair is down to my waist. I brush my hair, it loads up the brush....and it's about eight very long hairs! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 I'm going chin length next month.
Fron Uk and have learned so much from watching your videos and will be eternally grateful.I colour my hair every 5 to 6 weeks with non ammonia box dye ash blonde and the one thing ive learned above all is fine sections makes such a difference so thank you Hair Budda so much🙏
I have very fine hair, but thankfully a lot of it 🙏🏼 Normal darker shades of dye are no problem... but bleaching? A total desaster 🙈 My hairdresser made a test on a tiny little bit of hair with bleach before going in for the balayage I requested and it went orange-yellow and felt so dry, crispy and awful 👀 He recommended not bleaching it and I was so grateful for his advice 🙏🏼 To achieve a nice blond my hair would've been DEAD ☠️
Samesies. If I don't use a moderately coney conditioner and leave-in, it's crispy on the ends 😩 and that's with gently balayaged hair done by a professional over several sessions spread out over months.
I feel like every hairdresser has the same/similar reaction when they see people that are still at a yellow/orange color say they are going to use Wella T-18 hahaha
as someone with alopecia, it really gives me anxiety to see people bleach their hair, and when it falls out, these people seem to not really care... and keep on bleaching!! i wish i could do more stuff to my hair, but I can't because it's more fragile and i want to do everything i can to maintain a scalp without too much thinning.
It is disturbing to see these women doing dangerous nonsense with their hair, while speaking as confidently as if they had any professional training. I hope that those who see their videos do not take them seriously, but only to not do what they do. Dear HB, it's good that you comment on these videos to prevent people from making these mistakes, really helpful.
I've never been so happy to go back to my natural hair. Seeing the damage from bleachhas put me off ever dying even dark colours. The colour is meaningless if the hair is damaged.
It's bad enough that they fry off their hair, but as with the first girl, the pale color is rarely flattering on them. I wish they would try out a cheap wig in the pale ash color before doing that to their real hair. That said, I have gone through cycles of too dark and overly saturated colors over the past few decades without seeing that I needed to stay closer to my natural shade. I pulled it off when I was younger, but at my current age I don't look good in any extreme (very light/dark/bright) color. I'm a level 6 and that is what flatters me best. As I have been watching your videos, more memories of my own idiotic hair fails have surfaced, and I have no room to criticize others. So no shade on these gals.
If smoke is coming out of your hair and it is super hot, there is metallic build up in your hair, very possibly from henna, box dyes, or hard water. This is one of the reasons why manufacturers recommend a strand test!
Yup. This is me too. I'm afraid I can no longer bleach my hair. Its thin, its frail and I just keep losing more hair every day. Why I went wrong is I was meaning only to do the roots with this ultra bleaching kit and after I applied it to everywhere on my head I read the box and it was 40 volume. I knew I messed up badly but ugh, my roots can never get a yellow, only orange so I now give up. I'm throwing in the towel but just in time for fall. I usually go dark in fall/winter and blond in summer. Sucks though. Really sucks I messed up my hair.
I love watching you for your personality but I also love how much I learn from you. ❤️ You're the reason I was able to lift my hair from almost black to white. It wasn't quick no was it easy. But my hair is still on my head. :)
This is why I only do bleach baths and leave it on for 10 minutes haha. Yeah it takes 7 sessions to get my hair 2 shades lighter but bruh I'm not taking any risks.
I'm here! Although I am so late to the 🥳 party, Hair Buddha. I am never not happy by clicking on your videos. Always brightens my day. Happy Halloween, everyone! 🎃 🌞❤️🌈
I dye my hair carott ginger what is though quite easy :) I'm Polish Girl so my natural hair's slavic ash brown - definetely 5th level. My hair has been bleached by a hairdresser and this process was really fast. It didn't take much time only 15 minutes so as to become a yellow blonde. Then my hair has been dyed ginger and now my orange hair is still healthy, vibrant, bold ❤ I use box dyes from L'Oreal, Garnier and Joanna (local polish brand) and everytime ash-brown roots are perfect covered and bright ginger, all my hair colour is exactly the same as the model on box dye actually presents. Without safe bleaching my hair wouldn't have become as ginger as I have always dreamed.
I have all natural dark brown hair that is 36in long , it's miserable to wash because it's used to my well-fed water but it's really easy to brush out and styling is pretty easy except for curling it will straighten right back out in like 10 minutes, and it took me 30yrs to get it long it takes yrs to grow just inches.
Oh my gosh! She's bleaching again! It's going to fall off! SO TRUE YOUR HAIR WILL SAY I'M DONE! It happened to me when I was in my late 20's. Upper back of my hair was gummy. I went and got my hair layered, the stylist did the layers in the back a bit shorter, it blended and I actually liked it. My hair was about to my bra and had the lengths cut below my shoulders. The hair that was cut off the length reminded me of an old mop. I was so relieved it looked good. I could of had it allot worse. I'm 52 and do not color my hair any more. To many mishaps with my fine textured hair.
I love your videos, they are always so amusing. I have never bleached or coloured my hair, it’s virgin hair. My hair used to be red, but as the white creeps in I’m going blonde.
I just think "put down the bleach and book a hairdresser appointment" I know the allure of blond far too well, but I'm not going to do more than buy a wig
Hair Buddha I have a question for you I need your wisdom I am growing my hair out long and am growing out the old permanent box colors previously used on it as I know it isn’t good what is good to use to strip your hair back to it’s natural state from permanent color I’ve been told bicarb and a water mix but don’t want to ruin my hair please help?
Funnily enough, I just bleached my hair for the first time in about a year. I used Blonde Me, as well as PhPlex Protect. She's orange and yellow, and patchy at the roots, but I can wear a hat for a week or two. Right this moment, I have PhPlex Repair in my hair, and intentionally to wear it overnight because I've already found breakage. Any pointers for helping my hair?
I learn a lot of you what not to do. Untill now i always been lucky that my hair did not fall out. Wile i bleached it 5 tines in one day ones. And now i know that my hair can get enough of it and still fall out. So i am staying whit my red hair. I like it now but at first it was pachie because i bleached it from black to blond. There were a few peaces that was orange but most if it was white. And i did not fill my hair i wanted copper. Now i have dyed it a few times whit red and now its red thats what i wanted. And i know how hard red is to get out. So i will stay red for a few years. And maybe in the future let it grow out and let it stay grey. My hair is fully grey at the roots. If i did not learn all the things from you maybe i would be bold by now. So thank you ferry much for your time to teach us
Lol! Even the thickest of hair can be severly damaged and after so much it will fall, if not just melt off. Its crazy how hard these folks are on their hair
After reading the sign in the background about you not getting scared because you have children, I just wondered if you always cut/style/colour their hair? I sadly now have Alopecia Areata and so cover up all the time, but will probably shave it all and miss playing with my thick long locks of the past!! I wondered what advice you would give for dying that shortness of hair and with the Alopecia? I love watching your videos and you always bring a smile to my face! Thank you! 🤩😁😎
I literally do nothing except wash, condition and brush my hair when it’s dry but I love seeing other people play with their hair. I did until a year ago and I’ve always had hairdressers both in salon and out (when at a gig etc.) want to play with my thick hair because I literally let it do what it wants and put it up when I have to. Most of the time it’s down and has tangles removed once in the morning and once at night. Working from tip to root
I have a question to olaplex. I just want to do a mask or a treatment with it. My hair isn't coloured or anything and I'm just using baby shampoo, bc it's better for my skin. So I was on the website of olaplex and I really don't know which one I should choose. Thought there was just one product😂. Do you have an advice? I was a little bit confused 😅
It drives me crazy that they pull on their damaged hair😱.. I'm sorry but if my hair got hot or smoked, I wouldn't continue on using it,I'd rinse out straight away.
Omg I have been bleaching my hair to a level 9 for a good 15 yrs I'm a natural level 4 , I use blue powder and 20 vol one hit for virgin hair or roots n 2 if I got impatient waiting for a color delivery( I go rockabilly blue and purple rain) cover roots with dark dye never box always salon tubes but still a dark band to remove not fun but worth it to do well , I've never lost more hair than a regular brushing would have caused n my hair is to my hips
"If smoke comes out of your hair that's not good. Rinse it off"...quote of the century 😆 🤣 😂
Y'all are going to send my man into an early grave. I know he's got a shaved head but you know he's getting gray watching this

Right this moment, I have PhPlex Repair in my hair, and intentionally to wear it overnight because I've already found breakage.
Any pointers for helping my hair?
1st Girl who else was "OMG nooooo? When she mentioned a 3rd bleaching

3:28 I don't understand this girl. The bottom of her hair was darker why would she use lower volume on the bottom?
Never brush wet hair ...your pulling hair out
Excellent, i lurnt a lot thank you
I learn a lot of you what not to do.
Ι see quick blue @02:35 😥
10:55 if you're doing dark purple roots couldn't you just blend in the dark roots?
I prefer that blue hue rather than the blonde! 💖
Sorry, this maybe a stupid questions... the semi/wash out in # washes .. it stays in your hair?
Do you have a vid that explains bleach washing?
Turned out nice 👌 😊❤
I have a question to olaplex. I just want to do a mask or a treatment with it. My hair isn't coloured or anything and I'm just using baby shampoo, bc it's better for my skin.
So I was on the website of olaplex and I really don't know which one I should choose. Thought there was just one product😂.
Do you have an advice? I was a little bit confused 😅
It drives me crazy that they pull on their damaged hair😱.. I'm sorry but if my hair got hot or smoked, I wouldn't continue on using it,I'd rinse out straight away.
SMOKING!!!! Did she say SMOKING!!!! 😱🙀😱🙀😱😱
Eine Killer- Haarnürste mit den Kugeln am Ende.
Omg i read bread in the title and got so confused lol
Omg I have been bleaching my hair to a level 9 for a good 15 yrs I'm a natural level 4 , I use blue powder and 20 vol one hit for virgin hair or roots n 2 if I got impatient waiting for a color delivery( I go rockabilly blue and purple rain) cover roots with dark dye never box always salon tubes but still a dark band to remove not fun but worth it to do well , I've never lost more hair than a regular brushing would have caused n my hair is to my hips
"Its a good thing I got really thick hair.". Hair budda " until you don't "!
for people in these situations- would Olaplex work? doesn't it help heal but also naturally lighten?
Oh my goodness, it is making me anxious watching her running her hands thru her hair and pulling it out. (The first girl)
Do you ever do tips for salt and pepper hair over 60? I love my salt and pepper hair. just wantb to know how to jazz it up.
