Thank you for the review. My questions are what is the best time of year to visit. Which cruise line and should you do glacier bay or the other glaciers. Of course, a balcony but is it worth getting an aft balcony. How was the whale watching and could we have salmon frozen and sent to our homes?

Thank you for your questions. I was not such a fan of the Royal Caribbean ship we went on. It was kind of dated and the quality of the food was not the best I've seen. We shared port with several Holland America cruises, which I've never sailed with before, but they looked pretty fancy, as well as a Princess, and Celebrity. I've heard the best things about Celebrity, if you have the money to splurge.
Balcony is recommended if you want to take in the views with some privacy, but honestly, if it's not affordable for you, you can just as well sit on any of the higher decks all day and enjoy the sights.
We went in late June, and it was warmer than we expected. Some days were not even chilly, but rather warm with a bit of cool wind. Depends on what weather you favor, but I do believe March-April and Oct.-Nov. may be too cold for my taste (I'm from the south, so I don't tolerate the cold too much). What did surprise me was that we were prepared for rainy days, which many people had mentioned, but we only saw rain one day in our whole week, which made it more enjoyable, in my opinion, since Alaska is a great place to be outdoors.
As to the salmon, I have no idea if it can be frozen and shipped.
I will be making a review of the whale watching, so make sure to subscribe to my channel so you can be notified. Thank you!

@ once again appreciate you answering my many questions. I disliked the food on Royal Caribbean, we went 2013, and 2023 both were disappointing. I have seen here on UA-cam people enjoyed Virgin Atlantic and Norwegian cuisine lines food. I am thinking about Norwegian for Alaska. I just hope for a more recent ship like 2021 and up. I will subscribe now and look forward to your whale watching video. Thanks stay safe.

Did you book whale watching through cruise line? Which company and how many whales? We booked Norwegian Encore for late May…super excited. Already booked lumberjack show from NCL. Will likely book whale watching (Juneau) and white pass train (Skagway) soon. We usually sail RCL but I prefer NCL’s & Holland’s foods.

@@lisagraves5813what RC ship were you on. We went in May to Bahamas and the food was the best thing about our trip honestly. There were definitely things we weren’t eating because we eat typically very clean but we loved our choices. We are headed to Alaska on our honeymoon this coming Sept and booked RC again because of how much we enjoyed it. Wondering if it was just a ship thing where one is better than the other.

@ We were on the Harmony of the Seas 2024. We loved the bread lol🧐, we bored with the other same old stuff. I want to try Virgin Atlantic and Norwegian cruises. Not sure which to try for Alaska, Holland America or Celebrity cruise.
