I love this! Holly’s journey from being so high-energy to finally relaxing is very similar to what happened between my personal horse and I. Once these kinds of horses learn how to manage their energy and put it towards jumping, there’s no stopping them! I remember the first three year riding transformation and at the time it was such a huge inspiration to me. It inspired me to take up competing again, and now we’re regulars in the jumpers! So anyways, thanks Justine!
i’m so glad you’re continuing to compete!! i’m in high school atm, but i’m still worried that i won’t be able to compete once i go to university. the discipline i compete in is much smaller, and i’ve only ever found one college team that does it. i don’t want to stop riding or competing, and seeing you continue def gives me hope!
i’m soooo proud of how far you’ve come. i remember when i first started watching you when you were riding charlotte and even tho you were incredible then, you have literally come so far. i hope i can progress like you and maybe get to the level you’re at, some day. and hey, maybe we could meet someday 🤷♀️
Seeing this video was exactly what I needed. I have been having a really tough time with my OTTB recently and she has been off for 4 months due to an injury and I have just had a massive confidence loss and I kept feeling like we weren’t improving. I have a couple years left before Uni and seeing this has given me the boost I needed to get back at it with her and to build my confidence back with her and bring out the best of her ability ❤️
I have to say you are SUCH an inspiration to me as a rider and I 100% will be watching along each and every one of your videos. I'm excited to see where this path takes you!
Crazy coincidence, the girl who just bought holly rode for temple last year with me! I saw her post and was like I KNOW THAT HORSE!! I’m still on temples team so defiantly excited to see you at competition!
I went tot New Jersey Princeton and was watching the jumpers and saw a horse that looked exactly like holly and her show name was Hollywood blv. She also way over jumped like holly and swung her tail down after the jump. Could it be?????
I think its really good that you had those setbacks. You got to learn more about Holly and what was happening to her. Also I do remember the first three year transformation :)
Justine I love your videos so much I just got a pony a few weeks ago and I took her to my very first horse show we did short stirrup and I had a blast I love your horse so videos can you please try to do more of them??? If not I totally understand
What team are you riding for? Also, you did an amazing job with Holly! You never gave up on her, you worked through all the bad times, and you showed all those riders that your worthy of the ring and so is Holly! Good job!
That’s interesting. What really helped Holly was doing more intense work and focusing on jumping. She didn’t act up for the whole last year we had together after we started implementing that technique.
@@justinepalmer that’s probably what we should have done but I was not experienced enough to jump her anything over 2 feet. Then we just really focused on flat.
I had a horse way back when i was in high school when he got super fit he started to feel stronger and better he would start trying to throw in some silly moves while riding but eventually it worked itself out and he got better. My trainer said it was just a moment in training where he was starting to feel better now we had to work on containing and packaging the energy he was exerting being silly to do what we were asking lol
Right??! Her hops were most of the time easy to sit but I’m sticky!! I still feel like I’ll jinx myself even though I don’t have her anymore lol. 😂 So crazy I never fell off of her though the entire time I had her!
Holly has actually been sold. The girl who bought her absolutely loved her but found that Holly was too advanced for her so decided it was in her best interest to go up for sale. I believe she ended up with the girl’s dad’s friend.
i love seeing this! i got an OTTB in January and she is honestly teaching me so much and my trainer is helping me get her confident jumping (she had no real jumping experience before we got her). i love seeing how well you did with Holly 🤍 and i loved seeing the not so pretty side as well!

Do you still ride?

This cleared up a lot about you still riding and I’m super excited to see you compete on a team, I’ve always wanted to do something like that!

Yay! I’m so excited to watch!

Thank you so much for this!! I'm on the Drexel University Equestrian Team! :D
Oh cool! I’m sure it’ll be a fun adventure
Omg all the problems ( except for her getting attacked by another horse) we’re the exact ones we struggled with!
