I have never tread on a rooster's balls, nor do I intend to, nor do I even think that's even entirely possible given chicken anatomy, but if I ever did... Jesus Christ, this is exactly what that would sound like!
Orange flavored Bleach There are 24 total spots on the board, and only 1 is lose a turn. So (assuming each spot has an equal percentage chance of being landed on) each spin there is a 1/24 chance of landing on lose a turn. To land on 2 lose a turn spaces in a row is 1/24 x 1/24, which is 1/576. So, to land on 4 lose a turn spots in a row is 1/24 x 1/24 x 1/24 x 1/24 which = 1/331 776. Its genuinely incredible it managed to happen to him. There's around 6000 total episodes of wheel of fortune in America, which multiplied by 3 is 18000 total players. That means, statistically, there would need to be 18 times as many wheel of fortune episodes for this to happen just once to an actual player (it may have already happened, I just mean to match the odds) and yet Dan managed to do it one of his first times playing the wii game.
The Java Server I'm. It a mathematician and what I did is incredibly simple math that you would have learned in junior high. I just thought it was incredible how low the chances of that happening were.
I can see this happening. Dan and Arin and Jim appear live in Wheel of Fortune and both keep getting bankrupt and losing turns respectively while cussing on national T.V. And Jim keeps giving mostly wrong answers. I'd watch that episode all day long.
A little late on the response, but there is indeed an episode where the wheel rolled four bankrupts in a row, and a lose a turn right before and right after that nightmare. The host's response after the third bankrupt: "Well folks, bad news is there's no money on the board, but the good news is everyone is tied for the lead." After the fourth: "...This has GOT to stop."
The odds of Arin getting three Bankrupts and Danny getting FOUR Lose a Turns. THE ODDS. If the selection was completely random, there would be a 1/24 chance in getting "Lose a Turn" on each spin. Compounding this to four times in a row ends up being about a 0.0003% chance. In other words, 3 in a million. Within a single digit multiple of a legitimate one in a million chance. This is made even more remarkable by Arin landing on "Bankrupt" three times IN THE SAME GAME as Dan's escapade, albeit not right in a row. Of course, the selection is not completely random, it is influenced by how hard the wheel is spun (and there may be other factors in the game at work). This affects the probability in ways unknown to me, but still. Holy shit.
+Nate B.: Yeah. Danny shouldn't have spun it (roughly) as hard the fourth time as the third, seeing as Arin landed on Bankrupt both times. It was somewhere in the middle, so he should've gone for a really hard spin or a weak one. (Hard to consider that in the moment, though, probably)
Same. Put Arin and Danny in a game, Vanna has to be there and just let them be grump while the hosts have to put up with their shit until the show ends.
I love Danny, he's my favorite Grump, but it is a shame he's so keen on making sure episodes are picture perfect rather than the Jon mentality of, "Eh, who gives a shit."

I know this is an older comment, but I love coming back to this. I looked it up, no one, no one ever in Wheel of Fortune history (which is forever) has had as bad of luck as Arin and Dan on this show. The most consecutive Lose A Turn's is 2 >.> lol
So when watching this video, I've noticed that the wheel resets itself and Dan kept spinning it at the same speed... I think that's why he was so unlucky lol
This is obviously just a wild guess, but maybe a shitty/buggy RNG implementation had something to do with it. Programming a quality game is a lot of hard work, and this is very clearly not a quality game.
Edgar Adrian I've seen it even happen on the real show to people who keep spinning with the exact same amount of force, and unluckily for them right before their turn the wheel kept landing right around the same spot.
The chances of Dan getting 3 consecutive Lose a Turn spins, assuming the game gives an equal chance value to all tiles is 1/13824 the fourth brings that number to 1/331776. That is just wrong, although the first two appeared to be based on those weak ass spins.
Since the wheel spin is based on holding the spin button, it really depends on how precise the power bar is programmed. If that's the case, then Arin's spins and the computer's spins have to be taken into account to calculate the chance of getting four lose a turns in a row, pushing the probability much lower, I think.
Jay De La Cerda Looking at how shit this game is, I would imagine there is no connecting algorithm. I am going to guess it is probably random no matter what. Realistically the other spins don't matter.
Cow And that is why I calculated for four. Read it again and you'll see it. I just showed 3 first to give context to how quickly the odds drop as the number of instances increase.

"I'm five minutes into this episode and I've already lost two turns!" Oh christ, it's like the best set up to a joke ever... Here come all the punchlines 😂
Within the first couple minutes it just felt like a normal Game Grumps episode, and then everything changed after the fucking 4 minute mark. From then on I lost my shit, gained some new found abs I never knew I had, and died of laughter. You're all invited to my funeral now.

Try to say things more like "hey, you're pretty" or "you have beautiful eyes", etc. I don't want to sound mean, but just letting you know that others wouldn't take that as lightly as I do.
coming back to this for the millionth time and watching Dan hit his first lose a turn: **folding my hands in my lap with an evil smile** and so it begins
My favorite part of this is despite the fact that Dan lost 4 turns IN A ROW he still ended up solving the puzzle with $600 while Arin and the NPC ended with $0. Absolutely marvelous.
FuzzyBacon yep! Its right up there with episode 32 of the Mario Sunshine play through. Omfg xD (I won't spoil why its so funny, but suffice to say the title is 'what happened' and it has almost 800,000 views and deserves all of them xD)
Assuming the game isn't running on a very unfair algorithm, The odds of landing on the same slice of the wheel four times in a row as Dan did, are 1 in 331,776.
I have a theory. Maybe they were playing the game on an emulator, which they had just installed and run for the first time, so the RNG wasn't initialized, and for some reason the developers set it up so that when the game is run in that state, you get nothing but lose a turns and bankrupts, because at some point they had to test those. And then they just left the code in because, come on, who's gonna flash the bios on their games consoles!?
Warp Zone no the probability is significantly lower because of the power meter. Dan spun it at around the same power and it just happened to be about 2 and 1/6 spins away every time he didn’t vary his spins
the most weighted board in history. That reminds me of when you play roulette in GTA: San Andreas and you bet on both black and red and the wheel lands on 0 about 10 times.
+MG8256 Like, you don't even need to watch the episode now... just click these numbers. No real context needed, just watch. I'm busting a lung over Barry in the back losing his shit... oh my god. The tears... The tears of laughter... Too much! XD
And now it just happened on the actual show. Absolutely insane and so hilarious. I bet Pat would have lost his mind if he was there when it happened. 😂
The best part is Dan's blood-curdling scream. It's like you can practically feel his soul just shattering and dissipating into thousands of pieces. By far, the most hilarious and heart wrenching sound I have ever heard.
I just cried from laughing. The odds of those Lose a Turn's happening consecutively almost seemed like the game was broken or in a cheat mode. I laughed so hard. XD
What happened is that Arin kept hitting Bankrupt and Dan spun the wheel the exact same strength every time, which kind-of makes this whole thing so much better to me, lol. It's all literally Arin's bad luck and Dan's bad judgement and Dan't the one getting angry XD
Trying not to loose my shit in class because poor Dan just keeps loosing turns and Arin keeps getting the bankrupt and I'm fucking dying it's fucking hilarious XD
I take some satisfaction in getting the exact result with slightly off searchs. So happy to report you can find this video with "grumples wheelie fortune lose a turn"

Pat was never in a Wheel of Fortune game until the Wii version came out on November 2, 2010, and the reason why was that despite his celebrity status, he had kids, and he didn't want his kids to ask why their dad was on a box. He wanted his family to be as normal as possible. By 2010, his kids had become old enough to understand. Sadly, the Wii version, Pat's first Wheel of Fortune game, would also be announcer Charlie O'Donnell's last as he died the day before the Wii version was released.
Wow, what a stupid reason. I guess he ignored the fact that he’s plastered all over billboards, and banners, and Busses and that one thing, was is it? Oh yeah…TELEVISION.
Djinnaz 007 You have a point there. In fact, I have been thinking the same thing myself. At the same time, I don't recall ever seeing him on billboards and banners (wherever these banners are), but as for the trains and buses having his picture on them, it probably wouldn't been as easy for his kids to see since they're not as common to see as a video game or board game on store shelves.
Aside from this being one of the funniest Game Grumps episodes to date, I just wanted to say how that frame-buffer-blur they use so strongly in this game was SUCH a staple of the Playstation 2. It was overused and abused by so many games because it was a new filter to make the game look....... more.... real? I guess? MGS2, Grand Theft Auto III and Vice City were also games to use this effect as a basis of its visual style.

7:47 "IS THIS WHEEL WEIGHTED?!" is one of my favorite game grumps moments. The mix of pure despair, exasperation, and rage in Dan's voice
The sheer ridiculousness of the luck that happened here today made me laugh so hard that I was on the verge of tears.
3:43 Danny says "oh it's gonna be that kind of game" after getting his lose a turn.
He had no idea. No. Idea.
Ten years later, it's still just as true

That reminds me of when you play roulette in GTA: San Andreas and you bet on both black and red and the wheel lands on 0 about 10 times.
It reminds me of actuall wheel of fortune.

This episode is so great that I have now watched it five times today. Absolutely one of the best ones they have done to this point.
The best part is Dan's blood-curdling scream. It's like you can practically feel his soul just shattering and dissipating into thousands of pieces. By far, the most hilarious and heart wrenching sound I have ever heard.

EDIT: 16 not 15
To be fair, it is a 50 year old cartoon. They just still played it on TV in the 80s/90s/2000s.

I love the Game Grumps, but when I am having a really hard day (like today) I watch this episode and it always makes me laugh hysterically. Thanks Danny and Arin!!
It's honestly interesting that "Mumford & Sons" became an actual answer eventually with weird al.
Christian Dixie His now-defunct site was where I learned that.
ARE YOU A WHEEL OF FORTUNE ADDICT?!
And that game was way better than this one. It was so much more polished, and felt more exciting.
Oh, god, I remember this. It was ugly as hell when it was overused, IMO.
I think Dan was "Grump" in this episode.
Not many games are able to do that. But this one is special!
This episode is legendary
That was...amazing
