Okay so we have German words being read in a Scottish accent. Never thought we'll make it this far.

When Amy says "Gemütlichkeit" with her Scottish accent, it sounds like Swiss German pronunciation. Sweet!
There *is* some weird connection between Glasweegian and alamanian dialect/Schwitzerdütsch. I was friends with a chap from Glasgow. The way he pronounced "Richt guid nicht" for example, as "Recht gid Necht", almost like "Recht gut´s Nächtle" so much reminded of the sound of south-western German dialects, it was stunning to me.
It could not be more far away from swiss german

I'd argue that it is both an attitude and an ability - but I agree that instinct is not a fitting translation or explanation.
It is the ability to walk on tightropes by using proportionality

Es ist allerdings korrekt. Mit Fingerspitzengefühl an etwas herangehen bedeutet ja nichts anderes, als "den richtigen Instinkt (oder das richtige Gefühl)" für eine Sache zu haben, und dementsprechend feinfühlig, bzw. taktvoll, darauf zu (re-)agieren.
Im Gegensatz z:B. zur "Holzhammermethode" oder dem "Brachialgefühl", oder auch "dem Feingefühl eines Grobmotorikers".
Alle diese Begriffe bezeichnen ja ein Vorgehen bar jeglichen Takts und Einfühlungsvermögen.

Instinktiv zu handeln bedeutet noch lange nicht, dass man mit Fingerspitzengefühl handelt.
Ein Beispiel:
1. "In einer gefährlichen Situation instinktiv handeln."
Dies setzt keine Interaktion zur Lösung der Situation voraus, die Situation zu verschlimmern oder davor weg zu laufen ist eine Option.

"In einer gefährlichen Situation mit Fingerspitzengefühl handeln."
Dies setzt eine gewisse professionelle Interaktion voraus.
Die Lösung der Situation durch, fast schon elegante, Manipulation physischer oder psychischer Variablen, wie entsprechende Reaktion durch Aktion oder Deeskalation wird vorausgesetzt, oder zumindest eine Verbesserung.

@@o.b.7217 also das is schon an den haaren herbeigezogen, für mich bedeutet fingerspitzengefühl, dass man vorsichtig und nicht überstürzt eine sache löst, die leicht zu beschädigen ist, da sagt man dann ja auch "das erfordert fingerspitzengefühl", damit meint man nicht dass man instinkt oder talent haben muss sondern einfach vorsichtig und ruhig handeln soll. also ich finde instinkt is hier ein völlig unpassendes wort
Wanderlust = the positive drive, it's a positive feeling. Fernweh is you want to travel but can't - so it's a sad feeling. So in Corona times you're experiencing Fernweh when the Wanderlust hits you but you realize you're stuck at home ...

Fingerspitzengefühl does not mean instinct at all. "Instinkt" = instinct. Fingerspitzengefühl means literally finger tip feeling which should be understood as having a good, precise feeling for something. for example you need Fingerspitzengefühl if you wanna defuse a bomb: calm, precise movements. We use this word literally, like in that example, but also figuratively for when we wanna express that you need a specific skill or behaviour to deal with something

Fingerspitzengefühl ist im deutschen aber metaphorisch gemeint, nicht wörtlich, also das mit der Bombe ist falsch würde ich sagen. Fingerspitzengefühl ist ja viel eher wenn du jemanden mit bedacht und vorsichtig behandelst.

The funniest thing about this is that she tried to explain the German word "Fernweh" with the also German word "Wanderlust" that nobody in Germany uses anymore but English speakers do and think it's English :D

I really wanted the translator to explain the words contained in each phrase because that's how german works.

Fernweh is the opposite of homesickness, the craving to travel to distant lands.
she sounds almost norwegian or swedish-like, when she try's to speak out the german words
Wanderlust is going hicking in the mountains, woods.. but Fernweh is wanna travelling to foreign countries, mostly with much sun and hot weather.
I'm german and I wouldn't be able to tell you what a Verwaltungsfachangestellte is doing :D

Interestingly enough, I talked with an old Scot who said that Germans were the only people except the Scots who could pronounce "Loch" as in "Loch Lomond" correctly.
He also told me that in some really rough areas the pronounciation of cow was more similar to the German "Kuh" than it was to the English cow.

Doch, die stimmen in etwa.
Ich hab's mir zwischenzeitlich auch gedacht. Also es war alles sinngemäß aber semantisch hat das ein oder andere gefehlt. Grad bei Wörtern wie Fingerspitzengefühl und Schnappsidee ist die Bedeutung ja viel weitreichender als die hier genannte englische Übersetzung. Das ist wohl genauso wie englische Wortwitze in Filmen die oft nicht richtig übertragen werden (können).

Having an instinct für Fingerspitzengefühl ist gar nicht mal so schlecht, was vielleicht fehlt ist die "Vorsicht" die beim Fingerspitzengefühl mitschwingt. Fingerspitzengefühl bedeutet ja auch etwas mit Bedacht anzugehen. "Sure instinct" ist die eigentlich übersetzung greift aber etwas zu kurz, da du das Fingerspitzengefühl auch bewusst einsetzen kannst, was bei having an instinct relativ gut mitschwingt. "Handling things with care" wäre vielleicht eine bessere Übersetzung. Zu 100% wirst du ein Wort und all seine Assoziationen nicht übersetzen können, es ist die Frage ob man das bei einem Nicht-Muttersprachler und in diesem Kontext überhaupt machen sollte.

Fingerspitzengefühl does not mean having an instinct. .
It means to work with caution on a matter. For example when you need calm hands while working on an electric circut. You can also use it for difficult things like diplomacy.
In a sentence : "The president needs a lot of Fingerspitzengefühl to handle the situation accordingly."

The funny thing is that Wanderlust is a German word literally meaning the inclination to hike. Fernweh literally translated is an ache for the faraway (if that makes any sense).

"Schnapsidee": literally "booze idea" isn't exactly just a crazy idea, but most of the times it's a crazy AND stupid idea, like one you got while being drunk.
"Verwaltungsangestellte: "administration's employee(s)"
"Fingerspitzengefühl: lit. "finger tips feeling", if you want to do something with "Fingerspitzengefühl", you'll need to have a fine sense for that something.
"Gemütlichkeit": "Gemüt" = "mind", Gemütlichkeit = "coziness","sociability","snugness". "Mach es dir gemütlich."="Make yourself comfortable."
"Tretboot": "treten" = "to kick", to "step" or "to pedal", depending on context, so yes, it means "Pedalboat".
"Fernweh": "Ferne" = "that, what is far away from you", "wehtun" = "to hurt", "Fernweh" is a strong desire to travel far away.
