My first RG was the Banshee. My reasoning was: "HEY! I sat on my arse for about 3 hours building the Delta Plus MG so why not have the banshee as my first RG? Makes sense right?"

@@Z3_R_0 the mg delta plus is not that bad, it just needs some joint strenghtening here and there and stand.

Finally got this kit after searching online for months 😄
2 problems I experienced on this kit:
1. The connections between parts and runners are located in the worst place possible, not in the edge of the parts, making nubmarks almost inevitable.
2. The material of the hoses is fabric and cable, making it so hard to attach to the related parts. For that reason, I omitted the hoses behind the knees. I think the hose material for the zeons' MS would be more suitable.
Other than those, it is a wonderful and stable kit for the early RGs, and will not disappoint.
I finally got around to finishing the AEUG version of this kit (I think I bought it last year lol) and I really like how it turned out! I love the RG line quite a lot but most of them feel really fragile or are difficult to pose but not this one. Ironically I'll probably be moving onto the RG Zeta next, which I've read has a lot of stability issues but I guess we'll see. Also bought the p-Bandai Z'gok a week ago so I might give that one a shot first. I really do wish they made more grunt suits or did the remaining Endless Waltz suits for the RG line, I really don't care for a lot of the more recent releases.
Felt I should comment since it's been over 2 years since this review dropped.
I've just built the AEUG version and after building over 20 RG kits (waiting on my Sazabi and looking forward the FA unicorn) I can say this is the most solid and well built RG with amazing articulation easily matching the Exia and Red frame, but with a solid feel they lack.
If you've just found the review and considering it, don't doubt this kit just because of its age. Just like the MG 2.0 it still holds up.
The frame is amazing, meaning its articulation is still stellar.

I know it's been 3 years but how is your rg mkII holding up after all these years? And do you often repose it for pictures? I wanna get this RG but I'm scared that it might become too loose to pose around.
@@davidbacera3849 hey, I repose and mess around with my quite often (cleaning or new addition) it's help up really well. The frame was designed for it specifically and other kits used it (sinanju).
I'd say it's a definite build if your a MKII 1/144 fan

@@davidbacera3849 Hey, so after my message I went to get mine out of the cabinets and play with it (repose) and it's still incredibly stiff and solid. It's also a really cheap RG, so honestly it's still imo one of the best RG kits. It's not spectacular like the Sazabi, Nu or Hi Nu..m but it's a solid kit and imo a must have for any RG/1/144 UC Zeta fan. Plus it's an affordable and fun build
This kit is probably in my top 5 or at least top 10 mecha kits of any line I've ever built. Just great in every possible way - a fun build, really sturdy when it's done, excellent articulation, looks amazing. I built the AEUG version and went online to order the Titans one the same day because I wanted to build it again. So good.
If you still happen to have one of them around, would you still say it’s sturdy? I just bought the AEUG version today, and while I’ve built a couple of the older kits in the RG line, I’m still a little wary of them getting loose overtime.
@@MrCool-fj9so Just picked mine up from the shelf it's on and nothing's wobbly. But of course I also haven't played with it, I just posed it a bit for pictures back when I first built it and it's been on the shelf ever since. But the material clearly doesn't get loose on its own over time, unlike some MG polycaps unfortunately.

I have the 2.0 AEUG version. It's amazing how close they parallel each other, but I'm disappointed about is that the MG doesn't have anything for those chest lights like the RG does.

this was my second kits, its great, yes its really great, but putting the beam sabers to the advanced hands (that one moveable fingers) was really hard, it almost make me break the thumbs... 9.8/10 would like bandai to fix this
the frame on this thing is fucking amazing
honestly this kit is better than the hg mk 2 revieve, the revive is almost the same as the old one
that tubing looks like paracord sheathing, might be able to change the colors like that for a custom color scheme
A quarter way to building the AEUG version. I was surprised of the hose cloth material. Not my favorite UC show, but damn does the MkII looks much serious than the gramps-78-2.
In terms of looks, the Gundam went from selling toys to selling war bonds.
Okay, I've looked high and low to figure out something about this kit. In the manual, on page 12, step 14 (it's a splash color page that appears to just show off some gimmicks) it shows a small tab on the back of the waist that you are supposed to push in, but it doesn't show why. Can you translate that bit for me? It's the top left diagram showing a tab just above the bazooka rack being pushed in.
"You can lock the waist swing" it says!
I just built its inner frame this afternoon... F@$% those cloth tubes! Spent 20 min trying to get just ONE to not fray when inserting it... skipped them entirely and using metal springs instead lol!🤣
Note: I have 4 other RG kits, but all the ones with limited B runner... Tallgeese, Unicorn, Sazabi, and Nu Gundam. Have built old kits with screws and kits with rubber parts... but not keen on the cloth tubes. Also why I opted for the HG Thunderbolt Full Armor Gundam, because that crunchy garbage bag material gave me ASMR shivers 🤣😂
Yeah for the mesh tubes you have to get a really sharp blade clean cut, then get them on right the first time to not fray anything

guys RG or HG gundam mark 2 which one should I get? I like the proportions of HG although I love the quality of RG kits... Price is not a problem
if price is no issue then id personally recommend the rg but thats just me

I got a question, the neck on mine seems so damn long than it should be. I looked at photos and videos and it seems normal I'd say. Mine seems so longer than it should be, any clue if I did anything wrong? I checked the neck joint but it seemed as in the manual
Mine fell apart, joints literally fell apart like they had brittle bone disease. Not sure why. It was one of my gunpla too. :(

I can't connect the chest to the waist. The peg at the bottom of the B6 piece is way too short.
I'm tempted to get it cause of the test type parts but I gotta save for rent

+Alex Eddy You will have to disassemble and re-assemble some parts, but it's not too bad. If you don't want to do that, you could also maybe use glue.

+Alex Eddy Yeah, possibly. Not while they are still on the runner. But you could topcoat before assembly if you want.
Cool, that's probably what I'll do. I was curious about the difficulty of the dis-assembly of the legs because I've generally had bad experiences when I try to pop pieces apart.
Maybe I'll just try to put them together loosely, topcoat, then take them apart and add the little cords...

i have build some of the RG line like the Z'gok and strike freedom ,some of the RG is a hit or miss to me because how flimsy or back heavy it could get .But the MK II is the best for me so far other than Z'gok

rg's have improved to the point to being on parr or better than the mg equivalent (rg nu gundam)

Not that bad! And the best way around that is just to paint! If you aren't painting, just snap up the kit and then later when you get into painting you can go back and paint it!

Probably not. The connectors and sizes are different in rgs and hga

Purely a visual change between AEUG and Titans. So whatever looks better

I got the MG version of this for christmas, it was my first proper gunpla and boy was it a good place to start. I was pretty much instantly hooked and I plan on spending pretty much all of the money I got for christmas on other kits to try and sate my thirst for that sexy, sexy Gundam ass.

not really.
it's actually surprisingly easy.
you might want to use a hobby knife blade for very quick and accurate cuts to the mesh tubing though.

No it's pretty solid for an old rg
My only problem with this kit is the shoulders, they really don't seem to want to stay on at all. The connection to the frame is *very* loose. It uses a U-shaped connection that can pop right off, I wish it was an O-shape that slid onto the frame and could be held on by the armor on the arm.
Anyone have tips on keeping the shoulders connected?

@@danangjehan9733 you can grab a runner that has the same color and you can try and replicate the same piece, it's gonna take a while to cut and sand, I did the same thing with one of my gunpla before

uc kits never appeal to me but mk-ii is one of the kits that caught my attention. should i get the aeug version or this?and can anyone suggest me some great uc kits? except for rx-78, sorry i dont really like it.lol
The two Mk2s are pretty much identical kits, but the Titans version has the Titans test parts. It's really up to you though if you like a militaristic feel or the iconic AEUG look.
I personally find the GP01fb real grade kit to be amazing. Years after I built it, it's still my favorite rg, save the Trans-am 00 Raiser.
